wow the heating system in Korea is so different from the UK.. I guess its much warmer if u heat up the floor and eventually the whole room will be warm.. but in the uk, the heater, some call the radiator, is attached to the walls.. so when the heater is on, only the area near to the heater is warm.. not the whole room.. however most of the room floors are covered with carpet, so we don't have to worry about icy floors.. :)

How to: 1) multiply Celsius temp by 1.8

Example: 21.5 x 1.8

2) add 32 degrees, the temp is now Fahrenheit :)

@dswellhauser well most Korean apartments (like decent ones that families live in after they earn a bit of money) come with boilers or some sort of a floor heating system. only in small apartments or mini-apartments don't come with them. I guess they just have a different mechanism of heating it but in most places you'll find floor heaters.

my place has a boiler, so it uses gas to heat up the cold water before pumping it in ... gas is extremely expensive in korea so I ended up getting an insane bill ... needless to say, I'm never using floor heating ever again :<

We actually have floor heating in the Netherlands. Mostly in combination with a radiator heater as well. However, it's not such an hassle to turn it on.

On the other side, having it completely off unless you need it saves money.. i guess.
