Actually, this commercial was from the early '90s... or at least it continued into the '90s. I remember it well. It was part of a whole series. For example, another commercial had a "count" describe how he eats them. The lights went out, you heard a sucking sound, and then the lights came on revealing two holes in one of the peanut butter cups. You would then hear him say "I like to eat the peanut butter... first!" (you never saw him).
