@reece798able This is Capcom you're talking about. The Chronicles titles are getting HD upgrades and PS3 ports with full move support. So, it's very likely that Revelations will be getting a port as well.
@reece798able People have Chronicles on the Wii? Why do that need a port? The point is most would say it's for money. But, from a developers prescriptive it's a way to make sure everyone plays their game. Unless, the dev team is owned by the company, or under contract, or prefers a certain system. But, like me and a lot of others. I don't own a Wii or a 3DS, so I have to rely on ports to get my hands on really good games like Chronicles or Revelations.
@MoukkaGamer i understand what your saying, i wish they wouldport RE5 to thw 3DS or something cos i cant play it without cos i dont have a PS3 or XBOX360,
@reece798able That would be an interesting port. Mainly because it would be port of a established console game. Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever see RE5 be ported to the Vita or 3DS. A port for both systems would be interesting like I said. But, this would require Capcom to build the game from nothing to take advantage of what both the Vita and 3DS have to offer in terms of touch sensitive and the Vita's SixAxis Motion Control.
this game was great; however, it had nothing to do with its trailers.. "you think you can get away with this?" "I already have, Jill." they showed zombies in the trailer as well... no zombies.
got this game yesterday, i actually got overpowered by how good it was, never expected this! i am the type that like the classics way better than the new RE...in other words i get a massive boner for the fear factor much more than the action factor (if i wanted that i wouldnt play RE either) and i can safely say this game seriously scares the brown mustard out of you! has alot of RE1 GC feel but same as new RE, interesting combo. TBH i liked this game much more than 4&5...(especially 5)
Please, the peoples wo says "this is a shit but no are zombies", please, resident evil is a survival horror, in the games THE ENEMYES NO ARE the ZOMBIES, THE ENEMYES IF MUTATIONS OF A VIRUS, is is the efects of the Virus T-Abyss,RESIDENT EVIL IS A SURVIVAL HORROR NO A ZOMBIE SHOT-EM-UP.
@meg5493 this game was great, i'm not going to lie but 5 was by far better, and that's coming from someone who was a fan way back since '97. "directors inside joke," remember that one?
@Fade2Dark oh yeah *flaashback* haha but revelations had more characters and story 5 just didnt have that for me seeing how half the stuff in it was copied from other capcom games
@meg5493 why because it was referred to as uroboros? It was still progenitor. The story wasnt the best, but still better than 5 and zero's in my opinion,
@meg5493 I thought they made wesker better, personally. as for Chris, they didnt touch him at all. his personality was the same. Leon on the other hand.... they changed his character far too much.... and to top it off.. they made him blonde. I think i would have much rather seen him die.
really the changed wesker from a patient calm villian to some generic over the top villian
and chris used to be so calm and caring and smart then he became someone who looked like he was taking steroids and didnt really care for anyone leon was changed alot but it wasnt that bad i mean yea he's more sarcastic and stuff but still
@meg5493 I have reasons to believe that blizzard took the idea for Chris and used it for "Raynor." His character was still the same, he cared for Jill, did he not? He was never a wreckless character much like Steve, or other characters. You don't need steroids to buff up, bro. Carrot top, a comedian, did it in like 3 years. 10 years have passed, he got older.. they wanted to show that much time has passed.
@meg5493 Chris's character is not reckless, but firm and smart. He is brave only when he has to be, as shown in REMAKE when he saved Rebbecca and confronted Wesker, just as he confronted Wesker and saved Sheva and Jill in 5. His marksman skills were shown when he defeated Popokarimu, and again when he shot Wesker, while Wesker was moving as fast as he was. The voice actor was different, but the character still had the same concept.
@Fade2Dark your not getting my point -_- ' chris never acted like that in cvx but in 5 all he did was whine about wesker and jill i mean chris never gave a shit about wesker until he kidnapped claire and also when chris finally found jill he left her y'know the person who was brainwashed for six years who could be severly injured leave the job to finding wesker to sheva and josh
@meg5493 So, you're telling me when kidnapping claire he cared, but not Jill? that makes no sense. He wasn't going to leave Jill, Jill pushed him away and told him to go... "you have to stop him you're the only one who can," Jill said. unsure if he should listen or not, he went as Jill asked. "ok...." he replied. He never whined in re5, btw.
@Fade2Dark i shouldnt say whine but really he couldnt stay to help yeah jill told him to go but he should have had the sense to stay she could have need medical attention all the characters in 5 were watered down and generic nothing about the game was memoirable except maybe barry and he wasnt even in the game
@meg5493 first off, chris never went to med school, what could he have done? that would never have made any sense, and been awfully random.. RE5 wasnt memorable? bullshit. The dialogue was AWESOME. That shit wasnt cheesy like the OLD re's. Lost In Nightmates made my eyes water. ESPECIALLY when they played "peace of mind," at the end of the chapter. The 'itchy tasty" note found in the village? The storyline was better than 4's and 0's. Africa, Progenitor, Lickers, Sheva, I can go on and on.
@Fade2Dark lickers were out of place i mean technacly chris has never seen a licker sheva could easily be replaced by steve(yes i know he's "dead")or sherry i mean her parents were killed by umbrella big deal i mean look at sherry her parents worked for umbrella her father was almost killed by umbrella injected the virus into himself then killed annette then got sherry pregnaut turned into a glob of flesh then was killed, itchy nasty was copied off remake and wat about progenitor?
@meg5493 itchy nasty? I said itchy tasty .It wasn't copied off remake, since the original resident evil had it first. Even then it wasnt a copy, it was a hint and nod to the original. any true RE fan would have noticed that and loved it. Sheva coulnt have been replaced since she was a BADASS. You have to introduce new characters to re, other wise carlos, billy, steve, and sherry would never have been introduced from the start. Lickers werent out of place, Umbrella's research is still active.
@Fade2Dark sorry itchy tasty i was in a hurry but to me yea i can handle new character i like new characters its just resident evil to me went downhill after 4 the series should have ended i mean if capcom had made a game were all the character took down umbrella and used the controls of 4 it would have been a classic :( also sheva wasnt really a badass she was okay to me she was just really annoying
@Fade2Dark I think what he was trying to say is. They didn't introduce the Lickers properly in the game. I know they did in RE2 and most RE fans know what Lickers are. But, most of the newer fans that didn't play the originals don't know what Lickers. Besides the fact that it's obvious that they're named because of their tongues. I have to say, although RE5 was good. I have to agree that it wasn't very memorable, there were memorable moments.
@Fade2Dark For instance, the enemies in RE5 weren't memorable. But, that's mainly due to the fact they were too much like the ones from RE4. You can retract that by saying, "they used zombies in more than four games." But, unlike Majini, the Las Plagas, Zombies and other G-Virus enemies were for more memorable. I'm not talking bad about RE5, it's a good game and has great replay value. As for story, it all seemed very cookie cutter all the way through.
@Fade2Dark The RE5 story was very predictable and didn't have much a "WOW" factor that jumped out at you. As for RE4, the story was much more memorable. There was a lot more things to remember from RE4, I can bring up cut-scenes and gameplay moments from RE4. But, as for RE5, it had some memorable moments, but like I said. RE4 had much more to offer to the player gameplay wise and cut-scene wise. RE5 I would consider it a RE4 rehash since it didn't do much to improve
@Fade2Dark RE4 is by far memorable, although a rip-off. I don't give a fuck! There were a lot more memorable moments in RE4. And, they tried to recreate a lot of them in RE5. In RE4 here is some examples, when you kill the guy in the house, the cut-scene after you kill the guy in the house, the big village fight, chainsaw guy introduction, the part when leon and luis are tied up, the part when you get punched in the face by some big dude, krauser's "holy shit wtf!?!" moment
@Fade2Dark the introduction of the regenerator. Also, "your right hand comes off?" I could think of a lot of other things about RE4 that blew your fuckin' mind. But, where RE4 blew your mind, RE5 fell flat. Sticking to the RE4 formula, and trying to recreate moments from RE4. RE5 took the RE4 formula and threw out the fuckin' window by adding Sheva as a playable character. RE5 hit to heavy on the action, RE4 had a perfect mix of both that makes the game stand out in the REseries
@Fade2Dark RE5 on the other hand copied RE4 all the way down to a fiddle. And, then it beat the crap out of it self. RE4 and a better game feel, and as for hand to hand combat. RE4 had round house kicks, it felt good, it felt good to BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF PEOPLE! RE5 just had stupid falcon punch and Sheva. Now, in RE4 playing through the game, I felt some kind of terror, some lingering presence that made me feel overwhelmed. In RE5 I just ran into ever door and small place
@Fade2Dark blind because I had a partner. And, thus I didn't feel overwhelmed when I have someone with me in the dark scary places. RE5 tried to copy an already successful formula, but fell flat by adding in Sheva. Like I said before, RE5 isn't a bad game, or a bad sequel, it's an ungrateful sequel. And, again like I said before. They shouldn't have let RE4 weigh down RE5. Instead they should have either made 1 player like RE4, or build it from the ground up.
@Fade2Dark Instead they stuck to the RE4 formula, added a second character, thus killing a successful formula. RE5 received more negative feed back than it did positive. They should have done something great with RE5. But, instead they fixed something that wasn't broken, and released something that was below the average RE game. RE4 gets all the credit for originality through its gameplay and game feel, because the game was original. As, to where RE5 doesn't because it wasn't
@Fade2Dark I said one quote, and no umm... that's Leon S. Kennedy. But, as for RE5, you could say that, that's an impostor Chris. Since in RE1 he was 5 foot 10 around 150 pounds. But, in RE5 he's 6 foot 2 over 200 pounds. If you know, that kind of height growth after 25 isn't possible since you stop growing at 25.
@Fade2Dark Leon still wears blue in RE4, his pants are Navy Blue and the hilt of his knife is Navy Blue. The color scheme still matches the RE2 color scheme of Blue and Black. Black was made the more dominate color because it matched the game better.
@Fade2Dark You just said that Blue is his color, Blue still have a major role in his attire. And as for Horror, RE4 is a Horror game. The idea of a horror game is to feel week and helpless, and that there's something beyond your control. The first play through is where RE4 stands out as a Survival Horror. But, then it eventually fades into something not scary like all Survival Horror games. Survival Horror doesn't have a specific kind of play-style. And, as we all know
@Fade2Dark You said "blue," Navy Blue is a darker blue. The darker color blue matched the rest of the game better as well as the black. In RE2, the lighter blue used for Leon made him pop out from the rest of the game. Also, in RE2 his bullet proof plating was Navy Blue, so they retained the color blue that most character retained. They Generally retained the color of their vests.
@Fade2Dark Although the DLC was good, it would have been a lot better as a one person only. I never play RE5 with the a.i, online only because the a.i is a mega retard.
@MoukkaGamer The RE5 a.i wasted ammo constantly, and went through herbs like candy. I liked the Ashley a.i more because she didn't waste ammo and didn't go through herbs. Maybe, that just me because I know how to use her a.i, I don't know. And, unlike RE5. RE4 was able to in the prestigious Spike TV VGA Game of the Year Award. RE5 was nominated for it, but it didn't win due to that fact that RE4 is a better game. And, RE4 had competition that was the likes of God of War 2.
@MoukkaGamer RE4 was 100% PURE ACTION. My first play through, I had so much ammo I had to start discarding it. There were explosions going on, chuck noris kicks, explosive canisters, grenade tossing, lots of gun shooting, ect. I had machine gun turrets firing at my ass, big fat dude with mini guns shooting at me dynamite being thrown at me. I never felt helpless in RE4, and there is no way anyone did. It was a fun game, but it was PURE ACTION.
@Fade2Dark You looked at that mix, but RE4 was overall a Survival Horror game at heart. In RE4 I felt a lot more helpless than I did in RE5. And, RE4 outsold RE5's 5 million with a nice 7.9 million overall, not counting its digital copies on PSN and XBL.
@Fade2Dark original, and removes any aspect that was built in RE4. And, by ending this I'm gonna say this. It's hard to take you serious when you reply with only one post. And, I at this time have already wrote enough fore two game reviews.
@Fade2Dark on the formula from RE4. Except for add a second player to the game. In which was very redundant to the RE4 formula they stuck to gameplay wise. If RE5 was built from the ground up with the formula of having a partner. Then there would be a lot more partner needed moments and variations that could have made the game very memorable. But, instead they added a second player without thinking of the negative effects it would have on the RE4 formula.
@Fade2Dark But, instead it should have used RE4 as a base of "this is this." But, now we have to think of something refreshing and new. The previous entries in game franchises should be used as platforms to better the overall outcome of the next game. RE5 shouldn't have stuck to the RE4 formula for the sake of consistency. Which in my opinion was really a turn for the worst when they decided to run with the RE4 formula. And, add a second player to try and make it fresh.
@xInry Wow shut the fuck up. This is one of the best Resident Evil games yet. Better than 5 and possibly even better than 4. Its scary and challenging. What more could you possibly ask for?
After a few hours of playtime, this game is really worth it. Imagine graphics somewhere between the Wii and 360, some lovely 3D work, and a simplified control scheme to almost make it feel a bit more "classic" with the newer design aspects. The enemies are of a fresh variety and fit well into the BSAA - anti-terrorist story. Srsly, go try it out.
IDK about anyone else but i like the new Resident Evil games...So many people live in the past to much. things change and evolve and RE is no exception. It started out as a horror survival game but as the story progressed and time went on it became a shooter only cus our characters aren't gonna stay scared forever...they grew up, picked up weapons and it has become time to fight back...
Why do people hate on RE 4? It was realy good and it was creepy as hell. Im a big enough fan of the series to appreciate every game in the series. Hell I even enjoyed Mercenaries 3D more than most people. But anyways, 1 more day to US release!!!!!!!
Just so everyone knows, resident evil is known as a survival horror not zombie shoot-em-up. Also a zombi is a living corpse, so Revelations does have zombies they just dont look human. Use your brain.
Also I've looked it up and it appears IGN actually guessed it, it's yet not known who either character is in the third playable scenario. Could be Hunk and Ashley(or Sherry)... Hunk may even turn up in Revelations still!
Actually Ashley is in Resident Evil 6, which also brings back Leon, Chris and a third playable character who may or may not be an unmasked Hunk. And the T virus is fully back.
So they raised a city from the sea and no one suspected a thing untill zombies started coming out of it?? Who misses the days of simply being in a mansion with zombies with no real plot but just escaping?
@Whatdoesthisdo1 RIGHT! I lost interest in the series once RE 4 came out. They really have just lost it with this series. Terrorist organizations, non-zombie "zombies", and just way too much tacti-cool emphasis. I agree, they should go back to their roots, if they still can.
@mzdtmp2 It's not just zombies it needs, it needed to be scary and a proper survival horror game. Revelations? It does just that. In my opinion I don't care that there aren't any zombies, I think revelations is one of the best resident evil to date.
@hitman3106 I wasn't impressed by the operation Racoon city Demo and RE6 has taken too many elements from resident evil 5 which is a bad thing because 5 was rubbish. Seriously, I don't want to fight infected with guns otherwise I might as well play crappy COD zombies. I would only play RE 6 for Leons side of the game, everything else is just too much in your face moments. Resident evil is survival horror, not "Heres a machinegun with tons of ammo, kill everything!" I like the option to run away.
@BlaizeTheDragon Resident Evil has evolved into a drama. You get people like you bitching about the missing horror (which I wouldn't mind back), but forgetting about RE's story.
Story is the most important aspect of the entire series. The lore is incredibly deep, but you must've played EVERY, pored over EVERY file to understand it all. And that story is evolving. Mansion after mansion would get stale. Stakes are now rising and as a result, the story and gameplay MUST expand.
@ValinorOracle The new story in revelations is quite interesting actually. The story has expanded, it's drawing itself away from the whole Wesker scenario which is good, the gameplay doesn't need to change at all but can be tweaked, just not end up as terrible as 5 (They tried to go for a more action/arcade feel which was nasty). The gameplay of revelations had a mix of slow and fast paced action elements as well as walking while aiming. Those little tweaks is good, it works.
@BlaizeTheDragon RE5 had the best story of the series. Whilst a bit over-the-top you might argue, the underlying story and 'revelations' in regards to how the progenitor virus was in fact found (Stairway to the Sun flowers) was brilliant. It swung the doors to a more philosophical and maybe even 'spiritual' aspect to the series.
Especially if you combine that with the ending to Darkside Chronicles.
Whilst arcadey and actioney, though, RE5 was pure fun to play and I prefer not moving to shoot.
@ValinorOracle "Hai resident evil 4, bitch please." Resident evil 4 started the whole culture thing for resident evil. There were even sacrifices made. As for fun, I wouldn't consider my annoying ass partner sheva stealing all the ammo and giving it to me when I don't need it that is not fun that is just annoying. Also who said you had to move while aiming? It's an option sheesh... You want to know fun? Raid mode with a friend. The game takes on a nice little RPG aspect which is good FUN.
@BlaizeTheDragon Then clearly you haven't even played Darkside Chronicles. That fully incorporates 'spirit' into the series. RE4 contained nothing 'supernatural' in the sense the ending of DC did. RE5 and DC fully realised it.
Bitch, please. Come back when you have knowledge of the RE lore. "There were even sacrifices made". Lol, using that to back up your statement proves how little you know.
And that aside, RE4's story was craptastic. Sweeping Umbrella's downfall to a 30 second cutscene? lol
@ValinorOracle Oh I could go into bloody paragraphs comparing 4 and 5, even talk about Darkside chronicles if I so wish but YOU seem to forget that youtube comments have a character limit. But seriously there is not much you can get out of racoon city. viral outbreak of BOWs, big bad times, stupid fucking idiots going there, big boom, the end.As for the lore, were you reading fan fics? And another thing, you can't get a good game based off lore, Metroid prime didn't become popular because of it!
@ValinorOracle You know what, let's just leave it. I can see your going to stay here defending the worst resident evil title to date so i'm just gonna say you won and leave it at that because I have much better things to do.
@ValinorOracle 5, while a decent standalone action shooter, does not belong in the RE proper. Not Resident Evily enough. 4 is the pinnacle of the series thus far. With the remake on GameCube a close second and RE2 a close third.
@MisterVish I find it impossible to take these comments off you so-called 'fans' seriously. You claim RE4 is the 'pinnacle' yet it lacked a decent story that tied directly into the overarching story of the series.
Something which RE5 not only did, but filled in many plot holes, whilst taking everything that made RE4 a success, and just perfecting it. Story is the most important aspect of RE. By your logic, RE4 would therefore be the least Resident Evily and as a result, the weakest entry.
@ValinorOracle That's where we disagree, my friend. Gameplay/atmosphere is the most important aspect of RE. Story second. RE5 may've perfected the mechanics and pushed the story forward, but it failed to capture the suspense inherent to the original titles and perfected in 4. There was zero suspense in 5. Way too easy, even on the hardest setting. No challenge. I never felt scared. RE4's pacing between the Regenerators and the troops in the latter levels was sublime. A truly unique experience.
@MisterVish Fair enough, you reckon gameplay over story, and me vice-versa, but...
That's what I don't get. Maybe in the first 1 or 2 hours of RE4 was it suspensful. By the time you reach the castle, it abandons 'ammo conservation' and turns into a balls-to-the-wall shooter, albeit without a decent story. Something RE5 had.
I agree RE4 was a great game, but I believe RE5 did everything it did, but better. I respect other's opinions, but the mindless hate it receives it completely unjust.
@MisterVish Same with RE: Revelations, too. Suspensful for an hour or so, then you have a solar matrix aimed at you and it's a no-holds barred, action-packed thrill ride. Not to say I didn't like it. I loved it, as a matter of fact.
It gave a background to the BSAA, further coloured in the character of Chris and Jill, gave some of the best new characters the series has had in years, and teased the possible romance between the Redfield and Valentine.
@MisterVish If gameplay, visuals, and horror are your thing, then I don't know why you don't care about Revelations, it has all three. Beautiful graphics for a handheld, a creepy environment with lots of variety (passenger cabins that resemble re1, a casino, a bridge, a secret biochemical laboratory, ect.) The game is actually really scary in some parts, but it does have a lot of action oriented parts as well, and the gameplay and controls are great.
@MisterVish 4? really? i dont think i take your comment too seriously. 4 was a great game, but had nothing to do with resident evil. 5 was all about the progenitor virus which is what 4 was SUPPOSED to be about. Resident Evil 4 was flat out random. If any of the RE games need to be pushed out of the series, its 4.
@Whatdoesthisdo1 one of the US presidential candidates has vowed to build a space-station on the moon by 2020 if elected. I believe its china/India which has built a hotel/ resort tower offshore on a man made island.. now which one is more silly. You'd be surprised how many things actually exist.
@leatopia A hotel is one thing.. A City on the other hand is a different matter. I think that all humans in game (Even umbrella by now) Should be trying to stop the zombies from spreading.. Not using them as chemical weapons. The fear of something unnatural hunting you down is always greater then terrorists and enhanced humans (Wesker for example) Give me some crimson heads, lickers or hunters.. Not Veltro. This is just my personal opinion ofcourse.
@Whatdoesthisdo1 but those kind of things are hunting you down in the game.. veltro just makes them, they dont control them. And chemical weapons is the entire point of the game-- thats why its original name is Biohazard, its all out chemical terrorism.
@leatopia Yeah but the whole bad guys making zombies then good guys killing the zombies is getting stale. I think it would work better if there was a T-virus outbreak in another city and get rid of the idea of Terrorists. Just zombies and others spreading the virus.. Keep it simple. Look at the tv series "The Walking Dead" That gives no explanation of how the virus got there and that is why its so good.Heck even zombies on COD keeps you guessing and thats one of the reasons why people love it.
@Whatdoesthisdo1 It's impossible for that to happen. Umbrella's downfall occurred in 2003. If you've actually played EVERY game, read ALL the lore, you'd understand that the intricate canon of the series is something incredible.
Terrorists are what's keeping Umbrella's legacy alive. Veltro and the FBC Commissioner Lansdale conspired to unleashe it upon Terragricia to spread fear and show the public what Umbrella's research could cause but on an isolated city that had been built on the sea.
@ValinorOracle I bet if you made a spinoff game based roughly on my idea with new characters in a new city with no terrorists that it would outsell resi 6. Put the fear factor back in i say.
@Gorlokk666 I like stories in games, Most of the time its what makes the game. Its just in my personal opinion that resident evil storylines are....mediocre at best.
@Whatdoesthisdo1 No it was a city that was man made and it was targeted by a Terriost (misspell) attack using BOWS (Hunters) they were forced to use the cities power source to destroy it to contain the outbreak, But play the game and you'll find out that there was much more going on behind the scenes then what you see LOL
Actually they are also not correct fully, because plotwise this ironically ignores RE4 and returns to the Umbrella storyline sometime after Code Veronica X.
@colliric Not really. It doesn't IGNORE RE4, 4 kinda just stands alone. This is more just focusing on the post-Umbrella, early-BSAA stuff. But yeah this is one year after 4, and 1 year before "Lost in Nightmares" from 5.
It's mostly concerned about how the T-Virus(or the G-Virus) survived the end of Umbrella and the destruction of Raccoon City, from what I am aware of. So really, plotwise it follows on from Code Veronica X, and more accuratly Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
This of cause will lead to Resident Evil 6 when the T-Virus will return....
@colliric There's no Umbrella here. It's a terrorist group named Il Veltro. And many groups got their hands on Umbrella's stuff. Tricell, WillPharma, Il Veltro, etc.
This is the most confusing fucking trailer I've ever seen.

@Fade2Dark no its not just that here i'll write a list
uroborus-> Devil May Cry 2
most of the enemies and settings-> Resident Evil 4
jill's appearance-> Haunting Grounds
story= generic
ruining chris and wesker's characters = unforgivable
meg5493 2 weeks ago
@meg5493 I thought they made wesker better, personally. as for Chris, they didnt touch him at all. his personality was the same. Leon on the other hand.... they changed his character far too much.... and to top it off.. they made him blonde. I think i would have much rather seen him die.
Fade2Dark 2 weeks ago
@Fade2Dark plot of RE5
chris:you are a very bad man
wesker: yes I am a very bad man
really the changed wesker from a patient calm villian to some generic over the top villian
and chris used to be so calm and caring and smart then he became someone who looked like he was taking steroids and didnt really care for anyone leon was changed alot but it wasnt that bad i mean yea he's more sarcastic and stuff but still
meg5493 2 weeks ago
@meg5493 I have reasons to believe that blizzard took the idea for Chris and used it for "Raynor." His character was still the same, he cared for Jill, did he not? He was never a wreckless character much like Steve, or other characters. You don't need steroids to buff up, bro. Carrot top, a comedian, did it in like 3 years. 10 years have passed, he got older.. they wanted to show that much time has passed.
Fade2Dark 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark compare chris's character from cvx and remake to 5 big difference his personality wouldnt change over time :I
meg5493 1 week ago
@meg5493 Chris's character is not reckless, but firm and smart. He is brave only when he has to be, as shown in REMAKE when he saved Rebbecca and confronted Wesker, just as he confronted Wesker and saved Sheva and Jill in 5. His marksman skills were shown when he defeated Popokarimu, and again when he shot Wesker, while Wesker was moving as fast as he was. The voice actor was different, but the character still had the same concept.
Fade2Dark 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark your not getting my point -_- ' chris never acted like that in cvx but in 5 all he did was whine about wesker and jill i mean chris never gave a shit about wesker until he kidnapped claire and also when chris finally found jill he left her y'know the person who was brainwashed for six years who could be severly injured leave the job to finding wesker to sheva and josh
meg5493 1 week ago
@meg5493 So, you're telling me when kidnapping claire he cared, but not Jill? that makes no sense. He wasn't going to leave Jill, Jill pushed him away and told him to go... "you have to stop him you're the only one who can," Jill said. unsure if he should listen or not, he went as Jill asked. "ok...." he replied. He never whined in re5, btw.
Fade2Dark 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark i shouldnt say whine but really he couldnt stay to help yeah jill told him to go but he should have had the sense to stay she could have need medical attention all the characters in 5 were watered down and generic nothing about the game was memoirable except maybe barry and he wasnt even in the game
meg5493 1 week ago
@meg5493 first off, chris never went to med school, what could he have done? that would never have made any sense, and been awfully random.. RE5 wasnt memorable? bullshit. The dialogue was AWESOME. That shit wasnt cheesy like the OLD re's. Lost In Nightmates made my eyes water. ESPECIALLY when they played "peace of mind," at the end of the chapter. The 'itchy tasty" note found in the village? The storyline was better than 4's and 0's. Africa, Progenitor, Lickers, Sheva, I can go on and on.
Fade2Dark 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark lickers were out of place i mean technacly chris has never seen a licker sheva could easily be replaced by steve(yes i know he's "dead")or sherry i mean her parents were killed by umbrella big deal i mean look at sherry her parents worked for umbrella her father was almost killed by umbrella injected the virus into himself then killed annette then got sherry pregnaut turned into a glob of flesh then was killed, itchy nasty was copied off remake and wat about progenitor?
meg5493 1 week ago
@meg5493 itchy nasty? I said itchy tasty .It wasn't copied off remake, since the original resident evil had it first. Even then it wasnt a copy, it was a hint and nod to the original. any true RE fan would have noticed that and loved it. Sheva coulnt have been replaced since she was a BADASS. You have to introduce new characters to re, other wise carlos, billy, steve, and sherry would never have been introduced from the start. Lickers werent out of place, Umbrella's research is still active.
Fade2Dark 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark sorry itchy tasty i was in a hurry but to me yea i can handle new character i like new characters its just resident evil to me went downhill after 4 the series should have ended i mean if capcom had made a game were all the character took down umbrella and used the controls of 4 it would have been a classic :( also sheva wasnt really a badass she was okay to me she was just really annoying
meg5493 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark I think what he was trying to say is. They didn't introduce the Lickers properly in the game. I know they did in RE2 and most RE fans know what Lickers are. But, most of the newer fans that didn't play the originals don't know what Lickers. Besides the fact that it's obvious that they're named because of their tongues. I have to say, although RE5 was good. I have to agree that it wasn't very memorable, there were memorable moments.
MoukkaGamer 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark For instance, the enemies in RE5 weren't memorable. But, that's mainly due to the fact they were too much like the ones from RE4. You can retract that by saying, "they used zombies in more than four games." But, unlike Majini, the Las Plagas, Zombies and other G-Virus enemies were for more memorable. I'm not talking bad about RE5, it's a good game and has great replay value. As for story, it all seemed very cookie cutter all the way through.
MoukkaGamer 1 week ago

MoukkaGamer 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark the introduction of the regenerator. Also, "your right hand comes off?" I could think of a lot of other things about RE4 that blew your fuckin' mind. But, where RE4 blew your mind, RE5 fell flat. Sticking to the RE4 formula, and trying to recreate moments from RE4. RE5 took the RE4 formula and threw out the fuckin' window by adding Sheva as a playable character. RE5 hit to heavy on the action, RE4 had a perfect mix of both that makes the game stand out in the REseries
MoukkaGamer 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark RE5 on the other hand copied RE4 all the way down to a fiddle. And, then it beat the crap out of it self. RE4 and a better game feel, and as for hand to hand combat. RE4 had round house kicks, it felt good, it felt good to BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF PEOPLE! RE5 just had stupid falcon punch and Sheva. Now, in RE4 playing through the game, I felt some kind of terror, some lingering presence that made me feel overwhelmed. In RE5 I just ran into ever door and small place
MoukkaGamer 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark blind because I had a partner. And, thus I didn't feel overwhelmed when I have someone with me in the dark scary places. RE5 tried to copy an already successful formula, but fell flat by adding in Sheva. Like I said before, RE5 isn't a bad game, or a bad sequel, it's an ungrateful sequel. And, again like I said before. They shouldn't have let RE4 weigh down RE5. Instead they should have either made 1 player like RE4, or build it from the ground up.
MoukkaGamer 1 week ago

Fade2Dark 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark You just said that Blue is his color, Blue still have a major role in his attire. And as for Horror, RE4 is a Horror game. The idea of a horror game is to feel week and helpless, and that there's something beyond your control. The first play through is where RE4 stands out as a Survival Horror. But, then it eventually fades into something not scary like all Survival Horror games. Survival Horror doesn't have a specific kind of play-style. And, as we all know
MoukkaGamer 1 week ago
@MoukkaGamer I never said navy blue was his color.
Fade2Dark 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark You said "blue," Navy Blue is a darker blue. The darker color blue matched the rest of the game better as well as the black. In RE2, the lighter blue used for Leon made him pop out from the rest of the game. Also, in RE2 his bullet proof plating was Navy Blue, so they retained the color blue that most character retained. They Generally retained the color of their vests.

Fade2Dark 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark You looked at that mix, but RE4 was overall a Survival Horror game at heart. In RE4 I felt a lot more helpless than I did in RE5. And, RE4 outsold RE5's 5 million with a nice 7.9 million overall, not counting its digital copies on PSN and XBL.

MoukkaGamer 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark on the formula from RE4. Except for add a second player to the game. In which was very redundant to the RE4 formula they stuck to gameplay wise. If RE5 was built from the ground up with the formula of having a partner. Then there would be a lot more partner needed moments and variations that could have made the game very memorable. But, instead they added a second player without thinking of the negative effects it would have on the RE4 formula.
MoukkaGamer 1 week ago
@Fade2Dark But, instead it should have used RE4 as a base of "this is this." But, now we have to think of something refreshing and new. The previous entries in game franchises should be used as platforms to better the overall outcome of the next game. RE5 shouldn't have stuck to the RE4 formula for the sake of consistency. Which in my opinion was really a turn for the worst when they decided to run with the RE4 formula. And, add a second player to try and make it fresh.

@Whatdoesthisdo1 RIGHT! I lost interest in the series once RE 4 came out. They really have just lost it with this series. Terrorist organizations, non-zombie "zombies", and just way too much tacti-cool emphasis. I agree, they should go back to their roots, if they still can.
mzdtmp2 1 month ago
@mzdtmp2 It's not just zombies it needs, it needed to be scary and a proper survival horror game. Revelations? It does just that. In my opinion I don't care that there aren't any zombies, I think revelations is one of the best resident evil to date.
BlaizeTheDragon 1 month ago
@BlaizeTheDragon The next best is Operation Raccoon city. and then RE6.
hitman3106 1 month ago
@hitman3106 I wasn't impressed by the operation Racoon city Demo and RE6 has taken too many elements from resident evil 5 which is a bad thing because 5 was rubbish. Seriously, I don't want to fight infected with guns otherwise I might as well play crappy COD zombies. I would only play RE 6 for Leons side of the game, everything else is just too much in your face moments. Resident evil is survival horror, not "Heres a machinegun with tons of ammo, kill everything!" I like the option to run away.
BlaizeTheDragon 1 month ago
@BlaizeTheDragon Resident Evil has evolved into a drama. You get people like you bitching about the missing horror (which I wouldn't mind back), but forgetting about RE's story.
Story is the most important aspect of the entire series. The lore is incredibly deep, but you must've played EVERY, pored over EVERY file to understand it all. And that story is evolving. Mansion after mansion would get stale. Stakes are now rising and as a result, the story and gameplay MUST expand.
ValinorOracle 1 month ago
@ValinorOracle The new story in revelations is quite interesting actually. The story has expanded, it's drawing itself away from the whole Wesker scenario which is good, the gameplay doesn't need to change at all but can be tweaked, just not end up as terrible as 5 (They tried to go for a more action/arcade feel which was nasty). The gameplay of revelations had a mix of slow and fast paced action elements as well as walking while aiming. Those little tweaks is good, it works.
BlaizeTheDragon 1 month ago
@BlaizeTheDragon RE5 had the best story of the series. Whilst a bit over-the-top you might argue, the underlying story and 'revelations' in regards to how the progenitor virus was in fact found (Stairway to the Sun flowers) was brilliant. It swung the doors to a more philosophical and maybe even 'spiritual' aspect to the series.
Especially if you combine that with the ending to Darkside Chronicles.
Whilst arcadey and actioney, though, RE5 was pure fun to play and I prefer not moving to shoot.
ValinorOracle 1 month ago
@ValinorOracle "Hai resident evil 4, bitch please." Resident evil 4 started the whole culture thing for resident evil. There were even sacrifices made. As for fun, I wouldn't consider my annoying ass partner sheva stealing all the ammo and giving it to me when I don't need it that is not fun that is just annoying. Also who said you had to move while aiming? It's an option sheesh... You want to know fun? Raid mode with a friend. The game takes on a nice little RPG aspect which is good FUN.
BlaizeTheDragon 1 month ago
@BlaizeTheDragon Then clearly you haven't even played Darkside Chronicles. That fully incorporates 'spirit' into the series. RE4 contained nothing 'supernatural' in the sense the ending of DC did. RE5 and DC fully realised it.
Bitch, please. Come back when you have knowledge of the RE lore. "There were even sacrifices made". Lol, using that to back up your statement proves how little you know.
And that aside, RE4's story was craptastic. Sweeping Umbrella's downfall to a 30 second cutscene? lol
ValinorOracle 1 month ago
@ValinorOracle Oh I could go into bloody paragraphs comparing 4 and 5, even talk about Darkside chronicles if I so wish but YOU seem to forget that youtube comments have a character limit. But seriously there is not much you can get out of racoon city. viral outbreak of BOWs, big bad times, stupid fucking idiots going there, big boom, the end.As for the lore, were you reading fan fics? And another thing, you can't get a good game based off lore, Metroid prime didn't become popular because of it!
BlaizeTheDragon 1 month ago
@ValinorOracle You know what, let's just leave it. I can see your going to stay here defending the worst resident evil title to date so i'm just gonna say you won and leave it at that because I have much better things to do.
BlaizeTheDragon 1 month ago
@ValinorOracle 5, while a decent standalone action shooter, does not belong in the RE proper. Not Resident Evily enough. 4 is the pinnacle of the series thus far. With the remake on GameCube a close second and RE2 a close third.
MisterVish 1 month ago
@MisterVish I find it impossible to take these comments off you so-called 'fans' seriously. You claim RE4 is the 'pinnacle' yet it lacked a decent story that tied directly into the overarching story of the series.
Something which RE5 not only did, but filled in many plot holes, whilst taking everything that made RE4 a success, and just perfecting it. Story is the most important aspect of RE. By your logic, RE4 would therefore be the least Resident Evily and as a result, the weakest entry.
ValinorOracle 1 month ago
@ValinorOracle That's where we disagree, my friend. Gameplay/atmosphere is the most important aspect of RE. Story second. RE5 may've perfected the mechanics and pushed the story forward, but it failed to capture the suspense inherent to the original titles and perfected in 4. There was zero suspense in 5. Way too easy, even on the hardest setting. No challenge. I never felt scared. RE4's pacing between the Regenerators and the troops in the latter levels was sublime. A truly unique experience.
MisterVish 1 month ago
@MisterVish Fair enough, you reckon gameplay over story, and me vice-versa, but...
That's what I don't get. Maybe in the first 1 or 2 hours of RE4 was it suspensful. By the time you reach the castle, it abandons 'ammo conservation' and turns into a balls-to-the-wall shooter, albeit without a decent story. Something RE5 had.
I agree RE4 was a great game, but I believe RE5 did everything it did, but better. I respect other's opinions, but the mindless hate it receives it completely unjust.
ValinorOracle 1 month ago
@MisterVish Same with RE: Revelations, too. Suspensful for an hour or so, then you have a solar matrix aimed at you and it's a no-holds barred, action-packed thrill ride. Not to say I didn't like it. I loved it, as a matter of fact.
It gave a background to the BSAA, further coloured in the character of Chris and Jill, gave some of the best new characters the series has had in years, and teased the possible romance between the Redfield and Valentine.
Still, I respect your opinion, of course.
ValinorOracle 1 month ago
@MisterVish If gameplay, visuals, and horror are your thing, then I don't know why you don't care about Revelations, it has all three. Beautiful graphics for a handheld, a creepy environment with lots of variety (passenger cabins that resemble re1, a casino, a bridge, a secret biochemical laboratory, ect.) The game is actually really scary in some parts, but it does have a lot of action oriented parts as well, and the gameplay and controls are great.
randommmetalhead 3 weeks ago
@MisterVish 4? really? i dont think i take your comment too seriously. 4 was a great game, but had nothing to do with resident evil. 5 was all about the progenitor virus which is what 4 was SUPPOSED to be about. Resident Evil 4 was flat out random. If any of the RE games need to be pushed out of the series, its 4.

leatopia 1 month ago
@leatopia A hotel is one thing.. A City on the other hand is a different matter. I think that all humans in game (Even umbrella by now) Should be trying to stop the zombies from spreading.. Not using them as chemical weapons. The fear of something unnatural hunting you down is always greater then terrorists and enhanced humans (Wesker for example) Give me some crimson heads, lickers or hunters.. Not Veltro. This is just my personal opinion ofcourse.
Whatdoesthisdo1 1 month ago
@Whatdoesthisdo1 but those kind of things are hunting you down in the game.. veltro just makes them, they dont control them. And chemical weapons is the entire point of the game-- thats why its original name is Biohazard, its all out chemical terrorism.
leatopia 1 month ago
@leatopia Yeah but the whole bad guys making zombies then good guys killing the zombies is getting stale. I think it would work better if there was a T-virus outbreak in another city and get rid of the idea of Terrorists. Just zombies and others spreading the virus.. Keep it simple. Look at the tv series "The Walking Dead" That gives no explanation of how the virus got there and that is why its so good.Heck even zombies on COD keeps you guessing and thats one of the reasons why people love it.
Whatdoesthisdo1 1 month ago
@Whatdoesthisdo1 It's impossible for that to happen. Umbrella's downfall occurred in 2003. If you've actually played EVERY game, read ALL the lore, you'd understand that the intricate canon of the series is something incredible.
Terrorists are what's keeping Umbrella's legacy alive. Veltro and the FBC Commissioner Lansdale conspired to unleashe it upon Terragricia to spread fear and show the public what Umbrella's research could cause but on an isolated city that had been built on the sea.

@Gorlokk666 I like stories in games, Most of the time its what makes the game. Its just in my personal opinion that resident evil storylines are....mediocre at best.

@Whatdoesthisdo1 I guess so. I thought that Revelations story was pretty decent though.

@Whatdoesthisdo1
It was just a city before terrorists unleashed a virus on it. Nothing to 'suspect'.

@conn1239
Actually they are also not correct fully, because plotwise this ironically ignores RE4 and returns to the Umbrella storyline sometime after Code Veronica X.
colliric 1 month ago
@colliric Not really. It doesn't IGNORE RE4, 4 kinda just stands alone. This is more just focusing on the post-Umbrella, early-BSAA stuff. But yeah this is one year after 4, and 1 year before "Lost in Nightmares" from 5.

@LEW2X
It's mostly concerned about how the T-Virus(or the G-Virus) survived the end of Umbrella and the destruction of Raccoon City, from what I am aware of. So really, plotwise it follows on from Code Veronica X, and more accuratly Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
This of cause will lead to Resident Evil 6 when the T-Virus will return....
colliric 1 month ago
@colliric There's no Umbrella here. It's a terrorist group named Il Veltro. And many groups got their hands on Umbrella's stuff. Tricell, WillPharma, Il Veltro, etc.

@colliric they weren't trying to pull a george lucas, but i see your point they should try to make a reference to it so it looks like re4 existed

Roger Craig Smith stars in a game that takes place in/near Italy, and has the word "Revelations" at the end of its title.
Where have I heard this before?
