  • Actually I think Walt Disney did arrange for a decent burial, and there is a wonderful photograph of Disney, who was a deeply flawed man himself, with Cliff. Yes, a rather sad ending for a talented man who gave many people a great deal of pleasure with that wonderful voice and his uke. Still does. Thanks for this. And he was immortalized for all time in Pinnocio of course, and Jimminy sure does look like Cliff- no coincidence.

  • Yeah, its a sad story. Theres a lot of tragic tales about the forgotten stars of the 20s.

Another sad story, I heard Vaughn De Leath was very popular, but had drinking problems and was in serious debt when she died at age 48, largely forgotten.

  • I heard this on the radio last night. I love it.

I never knew about cliff, only about jiminy cricket, until tonight. thanks for the video.

  • What a sad story about his life!

  • Yeah, Cliff was a good guy, but lived a hard life. Most of the greats were caught up in bathtub gin and drug use. Even Bing Crosby smoked his share of pot... probably more than his share!
