the history says that Camile Saint Saens composed this aria before any other part of the opera. The melodical line is just amazing, the intenssity, the sexual energy and a deep and misterious compound of controversial feelings. thanks for sharing this video!!! i must say that the quality of the sound is fantastic, very loud to be listened through pc like mine without external !!! thanks. so i loved listening this song when i am at kitchen having a drink and cooking, is inspirating.

@Hisrevenge Ooops, I apologize B-flat is correct sir. And true, I've heard it where Domingo sings the high B-flat while Borodina has a measure of rest. Then there is Denyce Graves and Domingo whom opt to sing it together....speechless!!

I don't know why I don't enjoy this aria, I really enjoy Samson et Dalila, and Olga Borodina will always be amongst my favourites (especially as Marina in Boris Godunov), I just can't get into this peice.

There is no any evidence that she's lost someyhing in her voice. She still sounds like the best Dalilah ever. This one of my favourite arias in the world and to hear it alive is my dream.

Ive seen Borodina yesterday in Howanshina. The voice is perfectly clean and breathtaking. She looks very good, seems like she's lost veight.

The voice is still truly glorious, her phrasing is not as impressive...I've heard her do beautiful lines in this aria before and unfortunately she's been looking quite unattractive lately...oh, well. I guess we are ready for a younger blood Deilah, but I'm still a big fan of hers.

I don't hear anything decaying in her voice as some here imply!

Thank god she doesn't take the B-flat that is written for the tenor at the end!! In the performance it is meant to show Samson's despair and it is totally anticlimactic when mezzos do it in concert, completely out of context!

Her voice is lovely as ever. Gorgeous.

She should loose a bit of weight as she is a beautiful woman and it is a pity not to enjoy her wonderful looks anymore...

indeed sth is missing....she used 2 b incomparable in this aria and now it sounds like she's over it totally.

finishing part is not closely beautiful as it used 2 b...unfortunately,

but still, she's at home with her voice.

Voice is darkening, and more velvety.

There were two concerts of this programme in Beijing.

By the second, Borodina developped a kind of allergy and was about to cancel her appearance.

The first night she was magnificent, taking the Bflat piano at the end. Simply beautiful.
