System has been working very well. The siphon drains about every 6 minutes. Plants have been added for nearly a week now...and they are still alive. Lettuce looks a little better. Working now on water chemistry. Ammonia is high about 1.5 PPM. Lost about 8 out of 40 fish. Since these are goldfish (not for consumption) I've taken the step of adding some "Ammonia Clear" to bring ammonia level down. Decided I need to spend more time researching biofiltering and Nitrogen cycle.
I've added followup videos. One thing I would do differently is to attach the loop siphon on the bottom of the container. This would allow the water to drop completely and prevent water from pooling in the bottom few inches. Also, RTV silicone is good stuff....if you know how to apply it. I need some more practice...got one drop dripping every minute.
Very nice, I want to try and set up a small system at home as a hobby. and this is great. Thank you for sharing your videos.
