Anne Akiko Meyers !!!!! impresionante version me gustaria escuchar el 1er movto si puedes subirlo theviolinchannel seria una gran alegria para todos los seguidores de Anne Akiko M
It's so passionate, how she wrathfully intensifies as she slides the bow angrily across the neck, then tenderly, it confounds to a meticulously light vibrata. It's beautiful.
La nostalgia que me produce este movimiento asi tocado por Anne es tremenda su violin parece hablar como un lamento o diferentes sensaciones algo realmente increible grande Anne Akiko Meyers!!!!!
Akiko Meyers is able to evoke a beautiful, languid, rich sound out of her violin. And I agree with the comment that the oboe player is amazing also :)
This Is painfully Beautiful. The reason Because I always cry when I hear it it is Filled with So MUCH innocent and Love and Heart but With Sadness. It;s Very Sensitive It Cracks My heart To hear This song At how Beautiful It is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D
Ethereal: only in the Andante Moderato from Mahler's 6th Symphony have I been touched so deeply by such beautifully plaintive and heart-rending melodies.
My goodness! This truly is one hell of a passionate performance. At times it seems she is fighting back tears.
Particularly the ever increasing tension and vehemence of musical expression (starting at about 4:18) which then (accompanied by some masterful tempi rubati) resolves into the main theme at 4:53 without any haste is heartbreakingly beautiful and intense.
It is a shame this is not available on audio-cd.
Thank you so much for uploading this formidable rendition.
@Gehirnstruktur You know, I was thinking exactly the same thing with that part. It's not only amazing to watch her, but to hear through this recording the full vibrations of the instrument and almost raw affect of that theme. I think her portamenti choices in that segment were also very genuine.
I'm knocked out! Such pure tones in the oboe solo ... a really wonderfully performed piece! I used to have a recording of the entire concerto featuring Isaac Stern ... oh, how I wish I'd kept a better eye on it!
@Steroid0Strad The movement is Andante my friend, not largo or grave. Too much slower and phrases would lose their continuity, not due to performer failure, but because the human brain doesn't keep sound in working memory long enough.
@ritaviolin I think it's the City of Birmingham Orchestra, and if it is, then that should be Rainer Gibbons, from the digging that I did. I agree; his playing is absolutely gorgeous.
@altasilvapuer It's not the City of Birmingham Orchestra playing, it's the Slovenian Philharmonic conducted by George Pehlivanian and I'm guessing the solo oboist mentioned is Matjaž Rebolj.
The person who disliked it - ah, who cares? Let's just say it was an accident and get on with our lives. :)

3.6 million for the violin and 200,000 for the bow! Wow her playing is incredible she could probably make a stick with a string sound good.

This is beautifully dark, however, I don't find it very despairing. Great work though!

I'm very much inclined to call this sublime which C.S Lewis linked to the deep and infinite well of reality, Divine love. Utterly wondrous!

A great, sensitive Barber piece played forcefully but with great sensitivity by a great violinist.
