It really shows life under the Soviet regime during those times - dark, lonely.... here it is. Marvellous interpretation. A light shining in darkness.

The tragic third movement is a stark, modern realization of the passacaglia, the ancient form built above a recurring series of chords which Shostakovich also employed in his Eighth Symphony and yet again in his magnificent Violin concerto No. 1 of 1948.

I thing, that we have fantastic performance here, by this great musicians.

The piano trio was dedicated to the memory of his closest friend Ivan Sollertinsky,who had recently died(1944).The interpretation of this group clearly shows Shostakovichs feelings at this time. BRAVO!!! I am really touched. Thank you so much.
