  • VERY nice video :D

  • This made me go and play RO =D

  • Amazing video, that classical music is a lot better than that metal shit which is used everywhere! Make more vids like this!

  • @Sandokaaann When RO2 releases in late August, I'll be making more epic RO movies :D

  • The second mucis sounds alot like French national Hymn : "Allons enfants de la patrie"... odd for WW2 battles between Russians and Germans but... nice video anyway, love it !

  • @Evil1270 That is because the music you are referring to IS a quotation of La Marseillaise. The 1812 Overture was written by Tchaikovsky to commemorate the 75th anniversary of defeating Napoleon's army (in 1812). So naturally, he quotes both the Russian National Hymn and the French to symbolize the two forces in the battle.

  • @Sandokaaann

dude, metal is hardly played in movies unless you want to go for hardcore American Horro moives. you hear almost rap everywhere now. it is even in video games now.

  • Who edited this? jesus, you stolen all potential ofd this post!!!!!! It could have been REALLY somthing,

  • @rachmaniralf Are you referring to how I cut up the piece itself? I didn't include the ENTIRE 1812 Overture because it's about 15-20 minutes long and no machinima work that focuses on game play (no story, etc) can keep anyone's interest for that long. It just wouldn't be an effective video.

  • This is EPIC!!!

  • u r a nerd dipshit go to vietnam and then be so arragont fagg

  • Him glad i could get back the gore settings on RO again to normal as it should be. It is not a low violence chip though... More likely a bug that made this game look like a a TEEN rated game in europe from the usually M rated version that the original got banned in Germany and Norway and some other countries which can be fixed. But thanks for this video it is pretty epic one of the best though. You really making awesome videos dude. But i want you to know that my Steam name is MichFhürer1488.

  • Well done, glued to the clip the entire time!

  • Absolutely brilliant!

I look forward to many submissions in the future.

Thank you so much for uploading this rare compilation.

  • @ungerbn Thanks! I certainly will be making more videos when the sequel Red Orchestra 2 releases this year!

  • Did you take the song from 1812 overture of Company of Heroes.

  • @H0llaZ1990 Errr what? The 1812 Overture has nothing to do with the video game Company of Heroes.

  • @hockeywarrior No, but another video has the exact same sound with the cannons blasting, I just thought you took the sound from that video. ;)

  • @hockeywarrior Ah well there are actually "cannons" written into the sheet music for this piece, so that's why you'll hear them on any recording of 1812.

  • Really nice video.

  • Wow man! Damn nice video!

  • What is red orchestra?

  • @indoorin it's a WWII game set on the Eastern Front (Russians vs Germans) made by Tripwire Interactive. Very realistic and challenging to play, but also extremely rewarding. Red Orchestra 2 is its highly anticipated sequel, due to release some time in 2011.

  • @hockeywarrior Thank-you. What platform is it?

  • @indoorin PC.

  • @indoorin do you own a PC?

  • @indoorin i just realized what i asked XD

  • @AMT4245 Lol that is kinda an oxymoron of the present. But I'm not much of a PC gamer. It's either platform or I'm out. unless its something like that empire game.

  • Brilliance.

  • good job

  • @MyMeatStick1

It doesn't even say "machinima" in the title or the description you sack of shit.

  • @0hypnotoad0 Lol this comment looks really out of place now that I've deleted those comments...

  • cool you should ask to film a realism match for darkest hour! could end up in some great footage!

  • That's it! Return to the unwashed masses, you uncultured oaf!

  • @maddingo12 proletariat pride!

  • song? :,(

  • @TheLacune Song? what are you asking about? All of the music in this video is from the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky.

  • @hockeywarrior

    oh ok...

    thx :D

  • i obught this game it coming in the mail i cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @qwuako

It's a difficult game as beginner, so I reckon you should play the map 'Danzig' first so you get the feeling. ;)

The server i'm always in is: 209.246.143.10:7757

If you want to play some.. add me on steam. (PM me for the username)

    :)

  • @qwuako same here! Been seeing the videos and listening to the soundtrack, I just had to purchase it. Hope to get it soon!

  • BEST WW2 GAME EVER

  • @marcineer the opening is actually a hymn from the russian orthodox church. as is it always in the 1812 overture. most do not know this as they dont know the origins of this piece of music. they just assume its 'that music we hear on the fourth of july'"

  • @SweetLou0523 ... and is about the War of 1812 durrrrrr." True, very few people know these things. Though, imo, Tchaikovsky pretty much overused themes like this (Long Live the Tsar, etc) in many of his highly publicized Nationalist works. Oh well, it's still great music.

  • @hockeywarrior Actually, it was the defeat of Napoleon's forces in Russia in 1812....but I like to think that it is about the War of 1812....

  • @101division44 Lol read my original post more carefully. I'm well aware of what the overture is written for -- I'm mocking people who think that it is for the US War of 1812, since that makes absolutely no sense what so ever (hence the durrrrr added on to the end of the sentence...). And I go on to say how the opening hymn is derived from a Russian Orthodox Church hymn.

  • I love how the gratituous use of not only pretty well-known Russian hymns and folk songs but also God Save the Tsar and the goddamn Marseillaise still isn't enough for them to figure out what it's about.

With that said, I think people everywhere can appreciate it just for the feeling it stirs. Tchaikovsky may not have been pleased with it, but I'll be damned if it isn't one of the most beautiful and powerful pieces written.

  • pls tell what server?

  • I need help, i've installed RO, and its all fine, but when i come to load a practice map it freezes and won't respond, and also theres no servers on the multiplayer maps, please someone help me

  • @jerryplane you're better off getting help in the RO tech support forums. There are plenty of people there who can help you out!

  • Wow! Really nice video. And great music. It's nice to see an RO vid that doesn't have heavy metal as it's background music.

  • Very nice! You put alot of time and effort into this! Keep it up m8!!!!

  • I like the video! Nice use of classical music! :)

  • gay

  • @tropicalassassin If you weren't subscribed to machinima i would be surprised.

  • first song is so fucking bad imo

  • uh what? are you even commenting on the right video? lol

  • I mean the music is not good ;)

  • "the first song?" There is only one "song" in this video.

  • ye, I've watched first 2 minutes and wrote a comment =s understand now ?

  • er OK but I still to see how anyone could not find the opening Hymn to the overture beautiful, or at least pleasing.

  • just the reflection of the sun no bouncing boobs

  • U got talent. BTW check my ro movies

  • greatfull

  • are you ever going to make a another game video?

  • @skittlesareyum48 not any time soon. I'm kinda tired of making them for RO and as of right now I don't have a game that I'd like to use. I've got some ideas bouncing in my head though so stay tuned ; )

  • Red orchestra 2 ;)

  • OH YES definitely! Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for it to arrive....

  • Tchaikovsky is the motherfucking bomb! Great music choice and great video.

  • @StinkyGreenBud yes he is the bomb! I'd like to make another vid sometime based on a musical theme but I don't have a ton of time these days :(

  • Awesome stuff :) I love RO and I loved this video, good stuff..

  • Great Video. I've always loved Red Orchestra!

    5 Stars

  • hey im dantex302000. ive been looking for awhile for music that you have on here, your video. what are the songs name(s) for this?

  • Its the 1812 Overture by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. I'll PM you the CD information when I get the chance.

  • hey hockey!! thanksfor the info that really cool of you. im always looking for great classical music/choirs.....

    again thanks

  • Another thing:

Neeme Jarvi is conducting... it's his home orchestra but not everyone knows their orchestra conductors ;) There's probably only one recording out there. "On the Steppes of Central Asia" by Borodin is also on the album which might help.

  • Thanks for the kind words everyone. I DO want to make another cinematic movie soon, but I've got to recover all my video editing software. I virus wipe me out a few weeks back. Once all that's up and and running we'll see what I can come up with.

  • OMG, to create this good video you don't need just a moment of brilliance, you need hours of brilliance.

    Great work, mate.

I'm buying the game soon. :)

  • Nice video, nice music, and nice pictures! 5*****

  • Wow, well done.

  • Please, please tell me where you found the choral version of the 1812 of this quality.

Honestly, I have been searching for a comparable version for 15 years and only have an ADD quality version that would compare.

    Thank you.

  • Check your PM inbox... I sent you all the info you need.

  • this is glory

  • nvm, 4:45, my bad :P

  • very, very nice video, but where are the cinematic bolt action kills ?!

  • this is so nice!!!! sub

  • All hail the CCCP

  • This is definetly wrong here.

  • ...from some angles you even can't be sure that you're watching RO...

  • i just came off of playing darkest hour, this video makes me want to play it again! also, great visual interpretation of the music. 5/5

  • nice movie :D

  • "And the combat ceased, for want of combatants"

--Pierre Corneille Le Cid (IV, 3)

  • In the end of time, there will be no life, no fighting, no death, Just an endless peace filled with sadness and days of dark. Life, life will never return to this ruined world. And war, war was humanities error in its existance

  • very nice vid and the blur effect can ad to the feel of the battle so no problem there

  • oh wow that was moving! well done! 5*

  • i cryed....... thanks.

  • A question for the author of this video.

Could you please tell me which version of the 1812 overture you used for this video? Rarely do I hear a choir singing this in tune. This seems to be a nice recording.

Thank you in advance for the information.

  • Dito

  • Brilliant video. Why does it keep blurring though?

  • That's a combination of generally poor video quality (that's my bad... this is before I had good technology) and the game's vision blur effect when grenades go off near by. Unfortunately it effects those in "spectate" mode as well and can't be turned off.

  • This used to be the best online untill it was hijacked by cheating hacking idiots,..its a shame that a few always spoil it for the many....

  • what hackers? no cheats in RO man, get back in the game !

  • STFU you arse-wipe,...ive been playing that game when it first came out and i know several players personally who hack on the multiplayer games especially 24/7 arad ............jeez you ought to get back in the game..no hackers in RO lol thats as bad as saying no one cheats in counter strike

  • wow you're angry

  • And your'e very wrong........

  • just becasue you suck, it doesn't mean people hack !

  • You telling me clearly it's impossible to hack,.omg yea rite.

  • Can you guys please take your cat fight somewhere else? I'm tired of seeing this shit in the comments of my video.

  • Wow that's real mature. All I'm asking is please discuss this someplace else since it has absolutely nothing to do with my video. Is that so hard to ask? The game's forums are MADE for this sole purpose.

  • Excellant mate , haven't played this for some time, might just give it ago again !!!!!

  • magnificent!

  • Gedenken an die gefallenen Helden...

  • nice vid.

Question: How do you record in game? and get the differnet camera view?

    thanks

  • I use Fraps to record things in my games. All of the camera views I got were simply by spectating in the game and "flying around".

  • perfect video....aplaus...5/5 stars...we want anotherone !!!

  • Well maybe check out a couple of my earlier videos... I really am looking forward to starting my next movie but real life is pretty much preventing that from happening at the moment. I'll make a new one eventually so keep an eye on this space!

  • the best FPS game and fantastic video..love this

  • i love it! i to am a musician and now my two favorite things are together thank you.

  • This is awesome because of how unscripted it is :) well done! I really miss this game, I played it for a free week trial when it first came out. Unfortunately the community died somewhat and living in Australia makes it worse, so I put off buying it :(

  • Sure that's a great quote but its far over used.

  • Nice video! :)

Can you tell me what map of Red Orchestra you did use for the opening scene with the barbed wire? Couldn't find that in Smolenskstalemate. Or is it from another Game?

  • Haha I'm surprised no one has said anything until now about that! The truth is, originally I was going to use the map Gorlitz for this video (the epic, linear urban map that has bridges and the rail yard at the end). Not enough servers ran that map so I switched to Smolensk Stalemate. I still liked that shot I got from the Gorlitz footage and decided to throw it in because it was purdy.

  • Hey cool, thank you for solving the mystery! : )

Since i'm creating my first RO-Map i was llooking for the barbed-wire - static mesh for decoration purposes. I had played the Gorlitz map already a few times but did not notice the barbed-wire. I do also create ingame-video's by myself and i know how much work it is. Nice done your video, i think you have potential to make great movies, keep on the good work! ; )

  • Thanks for the compliments! Actually I am really looking forward to making another RO movie, only this time with REAL video editing software. I recently picked up the Adobe Creative Suite which gives me access to all sorts of awesome. Sure beats Windows Movie Maker... so yea, that will really change the quality of my future movies. If you want to talk more, just PM me ;)

  • Napoleons sitate u added.. Great!

U should also have added.. "To die for your country is the most ridiculess and stupid thing ive ever heard. Its better to let the other bastard die for his."

  • the point of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his (from memory)

  • What did I wright?

  • That's a quote from Napoleon, not from Patton as many think. I figured you probably knew but I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

  • haha, im just about to play this game, i was just searching for some good WW2 songs to play along with it, and i found this.. i liek.. 5*

  • Das ist gutt

  • Great Job man. I'm at work so this vid is killing me...Thank god its Friday and I'll get to play till 2am tonight

    LOL

    Rupushae

  • its friday, and I'll get to play it until tomorrow morning, providing some alcohol and energy drinks.

  • Is this map SmolenskStalemate?

  • Yes.

  • THIS IS WAR !!

  • Well put together' one of the best.

  • nice movie grat!

  • nice movie =)

  • kick ass movie and kick ass song!

  • Very well done! Quality choral versions of the 1812 are hard to find. Nice synchronization with the battle play.

    Thank you!

  • Tell me about it! Until I heard this recording I had never heard the piece with a choir, and now I can't imagine it any other way. The opening chorale section just fits so well with the rest of the work that it actually makes me wonder if Tchaikovsky intended it that way!

  • awesome bud, good luck.

  • Great video. I think im going to make a new RO vid (I have old crappy ones if you wanna check them out) this one has inspired me and Ill be sure to link yours to mine.

  • good stuff Hockeywarrior, this is |11.SS|Strmm.Nilsson, I think you know me, lol.

  • lol i always see you playing on TWB

  • Great! Simply very very well done! :)

  • Really good job. Complimented the game, the music, and your talents. Keep up the good work.

  • Oh excellent video! I really enjoyed it! such great editing and I loved the music, very good cant wait to see your next one! great job!

  • are there land mines in red orchestra? if so are they good ?

  • their are land mines for when u go out of the map but other than that there are none.oh wait there are ones if u try to go into the other teams spawn

  • RO is awsome, the gameplay is really that dramatic, and you captured the essence of the battle. If you do another you should use Krasni Oktober

  • Ya I absolutely LOVE Krasny... ever since the mod days it has been my favorite map. Lately I simply haven't had any time (working musician) to make another vid but rest assured there will be one eventually.

  • You do realize that the movie is unscripted and therefore most of the things you talk about are not even possible?

  • this is the most best reality better then bf 2

  • Really nice job. RO is really the best realistic WW2 shooter out there. Up there with OFP.

  • 9:23:

    BOOM HEADSHOT.

  • Wonderful video, I like how none of it is scripted.

  • awsome job here man... really nice... ^_^

  • the best pc-game vid ever!! good job!!

  • surely Hockeywarrior's best work yet! -5*!!!

  • nicely done!

  • Thanks again for all your comments guys -- they are very much appreciated. If I have time, I would like to make a video based off of the Darkest Hour mod for RO. I'll keep you posted.

  • 5 stars for this very well done video, you video

deserve more exposure it's really that good

  • 8:39 lol

  • you've putt'n a lot of effort into this!

  • I love this game to death ^.^ its so good, Best WW2 game ever. :) Really is. Lots of great concepts to this game the other ww2 games don't have. I'd be playing it right now : / but my computer doesn't handle it to well : / so i got myself an XPS just waiting on it..then ill be back in the fight! cant wait :)

  • Does anyone know where i can get player skins for RO?

  • Just play on a server that use them. You couldn't use them anyways.

  • wow, top notch quality.. I would expect a video of this caliber to have more views than it does. Great job, I love the aesthetic aspect of this movie.

  • good movie

  • Wow very nice video, two thumbs way up, cant wait for your next movie, it looks to be really good, once again great work

  • hahaha that was pretty cool! 1812 overture is awesome

  • coooool i lov it

  • when exactly is it coming ? im so psyched about it !!!

  • psyched about what may I ask?

  • Awsome work man u rock =D
