  • you should do the game of life on this - would be perfect.

    very cool design =)

  • so this is how it all started ... Maker: "Dude... I have this great idea for my class project ...(5min later)... imagine this... INPUT = OUTPUT ...(5min later)... it's Genius! and all you need is buttons, leds, and more of this stuff , hehehehe ... more of this stuff ...hehehe ...I'm hungry"

  • The housing looks very cool. do you know what kind of current this thing draws when all leds are on?

  • He has to turn all those lights off to be let in his apartment each time. But I agree, he's a fag.

  • It's an LED doodle board O.o SIck

  • waste of time & money... 4 fagots

  • Would have been cooler if he had used the LED's as photosensors and made it so that you simply touched the LED array and what you touched lit up.

  • That's a /lot/ of time... and not much of a reward.

  • very useful. :|

  • it's just a series of switches...

  • im not trying to be rude. but its kind of...unimpressive. one switch for each light.

use a touch pad or something to draw.

  • omg guys this is so easy to build... and 1 more thing .. do u think like u are god if u can wire a 200 LED-s to 200 switches...? big deal...

get 3 chips and program them to like play tank's on LED display... that would be cool.. this is just a vaste of time and money...

  • Wow i like it. Is this expensive? i want to create this as my project.. tnx

  • cost me about £250... all out of my poor student loan

  • So what controller did you use and how did you perform the multiplexing to drive that many LEDs via some address decoders or some BCD counters?

  • its not quite as complicated as that. 400 individually wired series circuits - psu>switch>resistor>led>psu

  • Making the leds pushable would have been interesting, but this.....

  • I bet each LED got its own wire to a switch! >:)

  • it's art. like light bright, but more expensive. ;)

  • yeah, i thougt about using lit switches, and eliminating the need for a second board with lights. but im paying for this out of my student loan....

as for isferos, im afraid it doesnt serve a practical purpose. its just very artistic.

  • You should have used lit switches to create the image at the switchbar too

  • it's not a turing machine is it? it cannot perform any automated calculations, hence not a computer. And Also I was wondering what practical purpose does this serve, aprt from being very artistic?

  • it can't execute any programs, only transfers the input form the switch interface to the led matrix. 1 switch controls 1 led so its really basic. however, it sort of qualifies as a computer cos it has memory. its working on the same binary system that is the basis of all computing.

  • Nice one.

Does it do anything with the matrix? As in can it play game of life or something based on your input?
