As you may know this is the German version of "Kaimos" by the great Mikis Theodorakis. His songs were banned strictly in Greece by the military regime (1967-1974). Vicky Leandros version was also banned in Greece (although her other hits had considerable airplay in state controlled radio) and appeared for the first time in vinyl only in 1974, as a A-side of a 45rpm single, right after the reconstitution of democracy.

What a beatiful version of this song. I have the English vinyl version from 1972, which is still played very often. She sounds superb in any language. She is a beautiful lady with a wonderful and very distinctive voice. Thank you for rekindling some very fond memories.
