  • james macphail.

  • 0:43, sorry

  • James McPhail? 0:41 second from the bottom

  • bad cutting

  • haha, the first breakdown is named 'Dude removal' and just one guy in a yellow t-shirt dissapears xD

  • Lmao

  • Great Vid

  • Yeah the gravity/speed is a bit off....can be easily fixed though. I don't think it should accelerate

  • yes it should, F=ma, there is a constant F, therefore, acceleration exists

  • Gravity has a standard influence(9.8m/s^2), so it should be fixed, but what about aerodynamics....?

This vid is awesome, your argument is invalid

  • It's great! How lone time you did it?

  • i thinks it should fall much slower course in this case it seems to be to near to the Cam .. if it move slowier it would seems bigger and far away

  • Unfortunately it looks too obvious that its been comp'd in. One of the problems was the fact that it hardly makes an impact on the buildings. An object that size would completely demolish the buildings. Also the way it just floats down feels a bit off. It needed and impact. Gravity people!

  • For me, it looks like the floating thing is smaller and closer than it is supposed. It seems to be 200 meters long

and that it is going to crash against the nearest building. Still very good job.

  • LOL @ 'Dude removal'

  • me likes bigtime . Very impressive for being made by a student.

  • wow

  • Canada not only has some of the best Movie Directors and locations in the world, but some of the best Film Schools!

  • Very good !!!!

  • Awesome i see the TransLink Bus and I see my work omg it blew up ..awesomeness

  • Main problem as I see it is CG ship scale. I feel it's way close to the camera than it's supposed to be. Like it's a minature right in front of the camera.

Just compare sharpness on the live shot buildings with the ship when it passes. The ship is actually sharper than the building.

Might also be a light scale issue. Ship simply look like a comped in big toy from a 50s sci-fi movie.

Ship looks great in the beginning before it starts to crash down. I suspect a perspective problem as well.

  • Lighting and scale was the major problem here. i agree with you

  • I agree. From the looks of things, the 3 littler ships should pass behind the big one, not in front. Also, I think the buildings should rather crumble a lot more rather than burst into flames...and the order of the destruction doesn't make sense. The closest ones should be the last to explode.

  • neh

  • I know this is hard to do, but it look really fake =/

  • I like

  • great but the explosion could've been better

  • What are you all talking about??? This is an amazing animation. . .

  • i'm sure it probably took a lot of time...but too fake and poor explosion

  • i agree explozion could be better

  • Great stuff and a perfect idea... But for some reason it lacks something. Now I have no clue what that is, but for this reason it doesn't look as realistic as it could.

  • not amazing but for a one person job nice done

  • it was good, but compared to the other vfs videos, this is probably the worst.

  • and why is that good sir ?

  • Nice work. Very realistic...

  • woww!!!! it was a ship? or a flying-city? anyway!!! was so great!! 6/5

  • I think the depth of field is incorrect.. but nice!

  • exceptional until the explosions

  • 5 Stars for you, VFS!

  • Marvelous! Keep it up!

  • wow, my brain is spinning in my head ?

  • The building with the green roof needs some attention.

  • thats and ugly piece of ship or whatever it is.

  • Cool!!

  • for some reason it feels disproportional

  • yeah i felt the same thing.

but it still looked fucking cool tho haha

shit...i have to come up with something like this? oh imagination don't fail me now xD lol

  • AWSOMEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

  • There needed to be more active background, it looked great until it bean to crash and the building in the middle was left unharmed... before it phased in, it looked as though that building was actually in the background, and the object would pass in front of it.

  • It's true that it looked like it was going to land in front of the green-roofed building at first. I think it's because the ship was SO big that you assumed that it was closer then it turned out to be.

(I was a little bummed that it ended before that building was taken out, but I'm sure it was a ton of work as it was.)

  • Oh crap!! There goes the Vancouver Art Gallery! Where are we going to hold our protest rallys now?!!

  • Rápido demais.

  • Muito rápido o trailer, pouco se aproveita ao vêlo, por não mostrar um sentido, mais claro do conteúdo do mesmo.

  • it did cast a shadow. look at the buildings behind it big guy

  • it needed to cast a shadow

  • i think it should have came in fron of them buildings?

  • win. :]

  • Great work. The underside of the ship was fascinating, it looked like a mini city.

  • wow!!

  • cool

  • really nice, but not that trealistic, I would say: wow

    :]

  • that was awesome (5)*
