Even though it doesn't look like the real ones, it actualy looks like a good alternative. Too bad i don't know how to build one like that even with your plans! :/
If I had to pick 1 it would probably be Defender, But I like a few.. Mainly early ones I can remember from when I was a kid.. Off the top of my head...
You made a big mistake by calling this thing just Mame Arcade Machine, and not a Bartop mame arcade cabinet , like what it is. This is the reason, why all this 'know nothing noobs', who never build one of these , say it's crap. Don't believe this shit, it's a really well made cab.
The MAME program is a free download from mame dot org and the roms are available via most File share systems like limewire and bit torrent. The legal stuff says you MUST own the original ROMS or PCB (motherboard) for each game you play. But does anyone really do this well I own the roms for my faves by owning the original machines, most are in constant repair so MAME is a savior when I need to demo a machine that isn't working that day.
Hi thanks glad you like it... no plans up yet if you haven't looked already you get a better look at the construction on the Arcade section of my webpage (which can be found on my You Tube profile page), most of the computer hardware I had laying around the arcade controls are from ultimarc, I would say if you brought 2nd hand computer & TFT screen you could build for around £350 to £400 GB Pounds, If you want any more info or help let me know.
For a while I have been thinking of building an arcade machine!...But it is way to expensive!, even when I try to go the cheapest way posiable...Oh well...Somday!
If you got an old pc that you can use and a little know how it shouldn't cost that much... the controls are probably the most expensive bit. You may like to look at my arcade build page http://pic5.piczo.com/BillyWalker1972/?g=15307041&cr=5
I find the most expensive part is the actuall wood to build the cabinit!, of course it all depends on what you use, or buy for your cabinit. My original Idea was just to have a wooden frame, and a cardboard cassis, that would probably be the cheapest way to go.

Thanks.
I just hope the construction didn't involve as many cusswords as mine has LOL.
dmstealth 5 years ago
Cusswords are never far from this mame cab... whether in the construction or losing my last life on a game LOL.
