  • Case example: My Toronto house is evaluated at 400k to 450K, based on comparables. Based on BOC inflation rate since 2000 it should be worth about 300k. She says we haven't had inflation in the market. This makes me wonder what her angle is. I'd like to know why housing should exceed inflation on the long term.  I don't believe it should. First time buyers may do okay long term, but they will be buying high and exposed to risk of rising interest rates.
