This is by far my favorite version of this song...of course, when I say "this song", what I mean is the repeated refrain at the end(ditto SOTM). Many Heads point to 9/18/94, and I understand why, but Jerry's vocal in this version (10/1/94) is simply astonishing in its strength and conviction. I've heard it a few hundred times, and I'm still blown away. The section from 5:43 through 6:15 is the most moving singing I've ever heard from ANYONE! EVER! His voice is what can never be replaced.

It is amazing to me to see young people (who were born after Jerry's passing) into the Grateful Dead. I think it is wonderful. I saw Jerry over 100 times. With the Grateful Dead and solo. I will share one vivid memory: I remember crying my eyes out listing to Jerry play the solo to Row Jimmy in 1990. The Dead were truly magical. That magic will never die. I am eternally Grateful.
