he wants this song sung at his funeral. thought provoking words.

It was great to see you in Austin, Texas

… don't think you were wearing a Tux though.

    Peace.

  • Arlo gets better the older he gets. What an amazing singer, musician, composer. Thanks Arlo for making the world a better place to be in.

  • Has this guy got religion now??

Still its OK, damn great music you would have to be dead not to be moved by it!

  • I saw Arlo Guthrie @ the precursor to Wood Stock, the Mississippi River Festival on the campus of Southern IL. U. -in Edwardsville, Il.just a super show, just a great summer. This song came from the album Last of the Brooklyn Cowboys, there is another song on that album just as moving as this song, it is the Gates of Eden. Great video, great sound, I felt as though, I was back in the coffee house, playing for tips.

  • My best friend took me to see Alro about 12 years ago and ever since Arlo has been a part of me

  • Arlo is a timeless, ageless, beautiful being on the inside and out...! Thank you for posting these wonderful videos!

  • Yes thank you very much.

  • WHEN IT IS MY TIME TO LEAVE THIS OLD EARTH. I HOPE THEY PLAY THIS SONG AT MY FUNERAL. BECAUSE I WILL HAVE BEEN ON THE LAST TRAIN GOING HOME. God Bless Arlo G.

  • great song

  • Arlo's coming to my sleepy little town of Melrose, MA in November. Can't wait! Hey, Arlo, stop on by my house for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner that can't be beat.

  • A very emotional/moving version of this classic. Well done.

  • This music inspires me to be a better person.

  • No matter what kind of mood I'm in, I can always listen to this song and feel better about myself afterwards. I think that speaks volumes not only about the song, but the artist as well...

  • This is one of my favorites!

  • Last Train, Hobos Lullaby are 2 of my favourite songs too. Its nice to know how others feel the same way. Hobos Lullaby is such a great album.

  • Always soooo moving! And Hobo's Lullaby. And Plane At Los Guados. Always about good, ordinary folk, always great! LOVE Arlo and Woody, for all time!

  • Play Hobo's Lullaby and then this....Wow

  • this is one of my favorite songs ever.

  • Very nice. Thanks for your post.

  • I love these posts... my wife says I waste too much time on Youtube... this is not a waste of time.

  • The only bigger waste of time would be to actually go to one of his performances.

    Hmmmm...

I think I'll do just that in February in Durham, NC.

I have waited all my life for this. I just love WASTING TIME!!!

  • Arlo Guthrie was my first concert, back in 1996 (was just Arlo & Abe). Best show I've ever gone to, or seen since!

  • Love Arlo. Wonderful performance.

  • ...i was lucky to be at this concert... what an amazing night... the audience was a typical Arlo audience... as he sang played and talked you feel the audience energy drawn to him on the stage....

    .....beautiful!...

  • moving...very moving..I love Arlo...and Jackie!! (his wonderful wife for those of you who don't know!)
