  • I wouldn't call this the best game ever, or even the best N64 game. However, I do agree that this is one of the most underrated games ever.

  • Why do I feel like training to be a samurai when I hear this?

  • I'd like this game remade on the Wii U... however, I want them to keep the exact same music, sort of like how Square Enix remade FF I,II and IV (on PSP)and kept the music for their previous remakes (ON PS1 and DS respectively)

  • THE WORLD NEEDS GOEMON BACK! please Konami T_____T

  • @summersault i hear yeah man

  • idk why but this feels good while doing tai chi.

  • This makes me think of someone training for martial arts.

  • ooh my childhood *.* but now remember me the song a bit on ten ten theme from naruto

    /watch?v=uTpPw5Qs0Rw&feature=related

    listen ^.^

  • love this game

  • i remember fighting little flying balls of shit to this music XD

  • Omg hearing this song....*grabs the N64 from the closet and blows the dust off* It's time for a good old playthrough.

  • @myke336 You know what? I haven't played this game in about 2 years. I think I will as well!

  • from 0:18 on it reminds me of Dragonball

  • omg.......one of my fav songs from this game. i so need to buy this game again!

  • Makoto Tsuguri I'm trying to get people who have posted comments to email Nintendo. (I have a friend who close lives to Main Corporation in America and he told that if a buch of people email them about a certain game the Corporation might want to put the game out sooner.)

  • At 0:18 it sounds like Totoro's theme. (And in Goemon's great adveture a stage has a complete arrangement of Totoro's theme) Goemon is Totoro's neighboor? :P

  • I'm pretty sure that Yamato is a common surname in Japan, but correct me if I'm wrong.

This place used to scare the HELL out of me, but to this day I don't know why.

  • @Cereghini

Yamato is the ancient name for Japan. Literally, it means "Great Harmony". Sometimes, it was refered to as "Wa" The Land of Wa. Land of Harmony.

  • Yamato.. Isn't that name from Naruto Shippuuden too? xD

  • Same idea as two people named Bob. Although I'd say this Yamato is superior :D

  • @ShugoCharaKawaii yamato is a very well known name in japan. And yeah, in naruto hes the wood jutsu dude

  • @ShugoCharaKawaii

I am pretty sure that the Goemon game is not referring to Yamato as a surname, but as a place. Yamato is the old name for Japan. The places of this game are named after old Japanese provinces that dont exist anymore (Bizen, Tosa, Awaji). Awaji province now is an island between Shikoku and Honshu. Interestingly, this was the place where the dragon transfer center was in the game (Kii-Awaji) Now Awaji is modern day Hyogo prefecture.

  • BEST N64 GAME EVER. And the music is... Wow, let's not even go there, I'd give the music a 15/10!!

  • An underrated classic with a PERFECT soundtrack.

  • Definitely not underrated, more like unknown, I've actually showed my friends that didn't know about this game about it and within a week they got their own copy. We need to do our part and show the world this gleaming star of a game.

  • The Goemon N64 games need to come to Virtual Console. Seriously lol.

  • agreed

  • Wonderful game!

  • Yea. upto a point where the rumble pak had a glitch. If you save you cant load. 2nd once your in space heh. Your stuck!

  • I agree bigboimike08 there should be one for Wii, if thier was a goemon game that cam out for nintendo ds in Japan, Japan is awsome america sucks at this point unless a goemon game gets released in american either for ds and especially Wii

  • I remember playing this game without a memory card on thanksgiving for like 8 straight then my grandma cut it off and wondered why i screamed for 10min st8

  • Love this game songs pretty cool too makes me want to beat someone up with a bamboo stick

  • Since playin this deeply memorable game at the age of 15 this and one other song have always stayed in my head and i find myself randomly humming them! So thanx 4 bringin a good memory bak 2 life - much appreciation 8-) ps: keep up the good work!

  • What's Goemon upto these days?

It's like he and Ebisumaru retired to make way for his shonen animu successor.

  • A DS game came out in Japan at some point, that was latest.

    Nothing in America, though.

  • @Isomnophilia There was a Japanesse only DS game made five years ago. Although it would of been four when you loft you comment

  • is no mistery the success of this game, to put it in easy terms, goemon is for konami as mario is for nintendo, so many years dedicated to that character, they only do quality on the games, and the music is perfect to fit in the scenes.

  • i swear a remake needs to come out on the Wii

    best game hands down

  • @bigboimike08 Better yet, put the original on the virtual console.

  • @bigboimike08 : Better yet, a HD remake on the Wii U.

  • @bigboimike08 sadly i doubt that would ever happen. this is like the most underrated game for the 64 and its so good

  • 1 of the best beats and games in its time.... and in this time

  • i love this music and the two games on Nintendo 64 ^^ (the good old time....)

  • im the ninja that rules over all humans... fight me for your life and i will give u death... um.... sorry.... the music got 2 me

  • I think there's a traditional Japanese melody hidden in :20-:23 of this song (it plays also in Princess Mononoke when Prince Ashitaka first sees Iron Town), but I don't know what the melody is called...

  • Nice song. I love it!

  • Yae!! Go Goemon! Loved him on 64. Sounds great!

  • sounds like a tune from shinobi or shinobi 3on the genesis

  • just something to know. outside of the bamboo forest is that stream with the bridges over it. once you egt mermaid powers as yae, jump into that water and swim through the passage in the wall. i think there was another fortune doll in there. which color it was i am unsure, it may of been gold, but i don't recall at the time

  • yep, you got a fortune doll, money would just appear out of nowhere, you'd get a key to that Pagoda in Yamato road (the place between Zazen and the bamboo forests) or enemies would attack you.

  • @FireNationDeathWish Actually, the last one teleports to you to a red gate somewhere in the world.

  • @Zmario116 I believe it's off the coast of Aiijw (sp?) Island

  • This was such a good game...with great music.

  • This BGM's one of my favorites. Good to listen while drawing.

  • What was the point of going there I don't remember! I found it an annoying place lol

  • A. It was the only way to Awiji Island.

    B. It had those Turtle Stones, which if you pushed in different directions, would do different things.

  • Yup, if you pushed one correctly, you got a Fortune Doll.

  • You pretty much got Fortune Dolls for all of them.

Although that Husband and Wife rock one...grrr...

  • This reminds me a great deal of the first level in the SNES one, where you fight that annoying ghost lady.
