I'd like this game remade on the Wii U... however, I want them to keep the exact same music, sort of like how Square Enix remade FF I,II and IV (on PSP)and kept the music for their previous remakes (ON PS1 and DS respectively)
Makoto Tsuguri I'm trying to get people who have posted comments to email Nintendo. (I have a friend who close lives to Main Corporation in America and he told that if a buch of people email them about a certain game the Corporation might want to put the game out sooner.)
At 0:18 it sounds like Totoro's theme. (And in Goemon's great adveture a stage has a complete arrangement of Totoro's theme) Goemon is Totoro's neighboor? :P
I am pretty sure that the Goemon game is not referring to Yamato as a surname, but as a place. Yamato is the old name for Japan. The places of this game are named after old Japanese provinces that dont exist anymore (Bizen, Tosa, Awaji). Awaji province now is an island between Shikoku and Honshu. Interestingly, this was the place where the dragon transfer center was in the game (Kii-Awaji) Now Awaji is modern day Hyogo prefecture.
Definitely not underrated, more like unknown, I've actually showed my friends that didn't know about this game about it and within a week they got their own copy. We need to do our part and show the world this gleaming star of a game.
I agree bigboimike08 there should be one for Wii, if thier was a goemon game that cam out for nintendo ds in Japan, Japan is awsome america sucks at this point unless a goemon game gets released in american either for ds and especially Wii
I remember playing this game without a memory card on thanksgiving for like 8 straight then my grandma cut it off and wondered why i screamed for 10min st8
Since playin this deeply memorable game at the age of 15 this and one other song have always stayed in my head and i find myself randomly humming them! So thanx 4 bringin a good memory bak 2 life - much appreciation 8-) ps: keep up the good work!
is no mistery the success of this game, to put it in easy terms, goemon is for konami as mario is for nintendo, so many years dedicated to that character, they only do quality on the games, and the music is perfect to fit in the scenes.
I think there's a traditional Japanese melody hidden in :20-:23 of this song (it plays also in Princess Mononoke when Prince Ashitaka first sees Iron Town), but I don't know what the melody is called...
just something to know. outside of the bamboo forest is that stream with the bridges over it. once you egt mermaid powers as yae, jump into that water and swim through the passage in the wall. i think there was another fortune doll in there. which color it was i am unsure, it may of been gold, but i don't recall at the time
yep, you got a fortune doll, money would just appear out of nowhere, you'd get a key to that Pagoda in Yamato road (the place between Zazen and the bamboo forests) or enemies would attack you.
I wouldn't call this the best game ever, or even the best N64 game. However, I do agree that this is one of the most underrated games ever.

I'm pretty sure that Yamato is a common surname in Japan, but correct me if I'm wrong.
This place used to scare the HELL out of me, but to this day I don't know why.
Cereghini 1 year ago
@Cereghini
Yamato is the ancient name for Japan. Literally, it means "Great Harmony". Sometimes, it was refered to as "Wa" The Land of Wa. Land of Harmony.

Yamato.. Isn't that name from Naruto Shippuuden too? xD

It's like he and Ebisumaru retired to make way for his shonen animu successor.

A. It was the only way to Awiji Island.
B. It had those Turtle Stones, which if you pushed in different directions, would do different things.
Phoenix507 3 years ago
Yup, if you pushed one correctly, you got a Fortune Doll.

You pretty much got Fortune Dolls for all of them.
Although that Husband and Wife rock one...grrr...
