  • How can I install this on my macbook pro ?

  • Is this improved version available for PC? I have to figure someone's gotten it over by now. =\

  • Is this the OSX version ?

  • how to use?

  • Seriously thank you so much. Wolf 3D is a great memory from my childhood, me and my brother would play this and then some doom over the phone lines, OG online gaming. I spend a few hours today tracking down all three "encounters" of the mac version of wolf 3d. Good stuff.

  • @gorillasalads No worries, this is my favorite port really. Then Jag and 3DO :) the ipod touch version is pretty neat as well!

  • how do I run it?

When I try to start it a window pops up with a lot of texture and shut :(

  • @daBabyBig Interesting, a user just recently had the same problem. Read the very top comment on the wolfenstein 3D page, link in description. The click on most recent in top right.

  • I remember getting this for my Performa 450 back in the mid 90s and thinking the graphics looked so amazing.

  • @jolu42 haha yeah, my parents thought it was too violent. I had to play it secretively, my heart would race. I miss those shareware Mac game collection CDs. Id like to track down the one that my dad snapped in half lol.

  • Noob doesn't know about the secret exit in level one.

  • @TheOldschool81 Yeah I know it, just wanted to do a quick sorta speed run.

  • Very pretty but the PC (DOS) version is much tougher and better in the gameplay department.

  • @SubmarineYellow9 Yeah, the Mac engine is practically the same than the PC one but modified to hold 128x128 textures and sprites instead of the 64x64 that appeared in the PC version. All the stealth elements are out of this port (and practically all the ports except the GBA one) as enemies are always facing you.

  • shit version

  • is this the full version

  • @RobStoj69 yes it is

  • No sneaking up behind them??? wtf

  • @wilsonnw the mac gfx dont have sprites of their backs

  • quake 2 forever!

  • Great!

  • muzyczka z quake - a 2 to się pamięta ;D

    i Wolfenstein - a 3 d też klasyk gatunku

  • Yes there is blood, just like in the original PC version. The only version of Wolfenstein 3D without any blood whatsoever is the SNES port, which is cross between the 3DO and Macintosh version. When you hit the Nazis they will spray out spit instead of blood.

  • @MudPuppit In fact, the SNES version was the first console port of Wolf ever released, the Mac one is based on the SNES one with the maps from the PC version on it, just like the 3DO one that was released shortly after the Mac port. And yeah, the only censored version of Wolfenstein is the SNES one. But the port that shares the most similarities in sound and menues with the SNES Wolf3D is the Jaguar one. A cross between the 3DO and Mac versions? But those both are almost the same!

  • @MudPuppit Wow, just like the censored versions of Mortal Kombat, the enemy spits instead of bleeds on the home systems. Coincidence much?

  • wow no blood?

  • Hey guys, just to let you know that this game is ONLY for the original Mac OS 7 and 9 computers (imac g3) for example. This will also not run very well on an OS X imac g4 with classic mode installed. If you would like to play this on INTEL Macs, please read the emulation instructions on the site given in.

Thanks for the video views, keep it up!

    Cheers.

  • the download just opened text edit and had a bunch of jibberish...... now what?

  • everything looks upscaled, which is cool.

  • lol is the pussyfied version of wolfenstein

  • XD Ya

  • Care to explain?

  • less blood and there´s no hitler

  • @Evildood89 higher resolution though

  • Please slow the game...

    Down the frameskips...

    What a headache :P

  • where can i get these sprites? I need them :(

  • Ive put a package together that includes the application Wolfedit which allows you to make ur own levels and edit the ones already in the game and also see the sprites!

    Enjoy!

  • Can you send me only the sprites? :D

  • I loved the Mac-version much, much better <3 <3 <3

So hi-res. The only thing that was less better was the fact that you could only see enemies from the front.

    This song is Quake II, right? ^^;;

    Anyways, kudos to you!

  • whooooooo!!!! Some Wolfenstein with some Quake II music. Way ta get the memory feelers goin;. Nice!!!!

  • This is very-cool. I have never seen the Mac version until this video. It looks like the Mac version was based on the Atari Jaguar and the 3DO versions of the game (Or maybe the Jag and 3DO versions were based on the Mac one.. Not sure which ones came out first).

  • Well nice video, because it is the first time I saw the MAC-version in action. But original sound and music would have been better.

  • NICE GRAPHIC!

    Better than Windows one.

  • agreed

looks a bit better than Doom

  • This is better than the PC W3D, but to say it looks better than Doom is such a fucking RETARDED thing to say.

  • well... the graphics look better.. but i still prefer doom, but then again, both games r good

  • he is right, the sprites and textures are much better quality in wolf3d than in doom

but wolf3d is more ortogonal ....so in terms of gameplay...its inferior even to the pc version

  • @MISANTHROPE00 not only that, but the mac version of wolfenstein 3d was released two years later.

  • agreed

looks a bit better than Doom.. graphic wise

  • I have an OS8 and 9.

  • the pc version was way better; i couldn't get over the fact that the Mac sprites are only drawn from ONE SIDE!

thanks for totally fucking up the already negligable stealth aspect guys...

  • I do agree. However, the Mac version is superior in some aspects: higher resolution graphics, better music and the voices were done by real germans.

  • That's true enough, I still enjoyed the Mac version, particularly the voices and the inclusion of the extra weapons over the PC version.

Hell, I can still enjoy toasting 'Staatmeister' on the SNES version once in a while. :D

Killing giant rats always bugged me for some reason though...

  • God the mac version was awful. The game still fucking rules today, but on the right platform, look at how slow that is.

  • game music > this 1

  • @Bunnyboylalala But this is music from Quake II! :D

  • I love this game so much... Especially the level editor...

I used to make levels with tons of secret paths, and my father would play them when he came back from work...

  • It's a fan site of wolfenstein 3d. In this site there are a lot of things about wolfenstein.

  • For those that have Mac OSX, download DOSBox and a Wolf3d mod called Mac-enstein 3D Second Encounter from the Wolfenstein 3D Dome. It's a faithful remake of the Mac version of Wolf3d using the PC version's source code.

  • To increase the framerate in DOSBox, hold ctrl and press F12 until th cpu cycle count goes up to 20000.

  • What is that wolfenstein 3D Dome link????

  • Whats up people! Just updating that the music link for the game Has been removed, the .mp3 tracks have been taken off but I have them loaded onto my HD.

So if you folks what the mp3 tracks/game combined, please message me!

And also..... Thanks to the person who notified me that the link was down!

    Cheers guys! =)

  • I own an imac G4 running OSX and tried playing this game through classic mode, Rather unplayable skipping frames and all... =/

My suggestion to all of you would be to get an older mac running OS9 of lower as it will run perfectly!

So if you own a newer mac, there wont be much luck in getting it to work properly.

  • thats AWESOME not as much gore as there was in the first though

  • The song is from the quake2 game cd. The name is Kill Ratio, the creator is Sonic Mayhem.

  • this is why i hate the mac,it ruins everything the PC brings to the world, ruins wolfenstein, oO it looks excellent but theres just no point, Windows gives u much more of a range, Wolfenstein 3D original ftw :)

  • Ok first of all I guess you don't "hate" the mac, you just don't like how their games are laid out. This version of wolfenstein 3d has some cool changes and looks better, yes they sprites may look 2D but they actually did a good job with the music and sounds. If you look back on old mac games (if you've played any), u'l see they're waaay more original and obscure than the DOS system. Mac games back then just wanted to do something different, and it worked well.

  • Apple didn't do anything I think, and the "PC" didn't bring out any games. You should blame the right ppl. For me the right hardware is no longer a mac, but I did own one in the old days and I remember these gems. I miss the Escape Velocity series, oh the memories.

  • W00t? Hans Grosse in the third level? oO

  • Hardcore ^ ^

  • Hello everyone! Sorry ive been a bit slack for the people who have wanted the game sent to them and also on the whole getting the music up on Youtube for the mac version of Wolfenstein 3D... Im working on the music now as we speak, people will soon be able to download the tracks straight from Youtube.

    Thanks very much!

  • Shit, and the reason i looked for a video of this was for the mac-versions original soundtrack.

  • Hey dude, sorry bout this... I got lazy and just added a random Quake2 track, yeah I like the wolf 3D music as well. Ive got an idea to get it up on YouTube so people can convert it to an Mp3 format...

    Thanks fir the comment

  • Yes, that would be great :)

  • The song is Kill Ratio, I have the songs from the Quake2 game!

  • This is exactly like the 3DO version.

  • I like the mac version cauze I seen it in The Net (1995) with Sandra Bullock. There was another music xD.

Does anyone could help me with original music?

  • God this brings back HUGE memories!!!!

I recognize the music in the background but can't place it in my mind. What is that from...another game, right?

  • It's from quake 2, songs called "Kill Ratio".

    Thanks bud ;)

  • ugh!!!!! No doubt. I see the action now in my head. Sheesh...I can't believe I couldn't remember. Nice job.

  • Mein Lieben...hehhe..Oldie, but goodie.

  • hey does anyone know of a place i could download the free full mac version of this game. cause i cant find one and ive looked all over. is there any torrent for it? or any site that has it? if so please tell me, thanks.

  • Hey mate, I own all the wolf3d games! Could I please have your e-mail address and I will give it to you, Its not very big ;)

    Cheers, johnny

  • there's no blood?

  • yeah theres blood, just like the PC version..

The SNES version has no blood, you can only see sprays of spit fly out. The violence was toned down because id software got a bit annoyed that the SENS version of wolf3d wasn't like the PC version which has blood. You probably can't see much here, but theres quite a bit. ;)

    Thanks!

  • is there a mod or a way to turn the pc game in to the mac version with hi res sprites

  • I'm not sure man, probably something very similar.. Have a look round ;)

    Good luck and thanks

  • I own both the mac and pc versions of wolf 3d. while the mac version has better graphics. the pc version has better gameplay. u can sneak up on enemies, they patrol, and enemies can open any door. plus in the pc version u dont need resedit to have new sounds

  • Lol ;) thanks allot for the comment!

  • Damn, that looks like a high res Wolf 3D!

  • Yeah man it's pretty classy ;)

  • Wolfenstein 3D needs a high resolution mod like with Duke 3D. It's more classical. Imagine the Nazi soldiers being true 3D just like the Duke 3D mod.

  • Or even better graphics. Duke 3d HR dosen't looks that good comparing to today games, or even games that came out 4 years ago.

It will be so cool if ID will decide to make a new wolfenstein game, with their new graphics engine.

  • Maybe not but Duke 3D HR just barely runs on my crap of a computer.

  • You're a fucking idiot.

That "new wolfenstein game" was RTCW, then RTCW:ET, and now RTCW2.

What the fuck else do you want? Modern graphics but still without a mouse?

  • Huh? I said a "new wolfenstein game" with their new engine, Not doing exactly the same game with new graphics. That comment was 10 months ago, no one realy heard of rtcw2 at that time...

  • i wish you could include the original macintosh music

pd: can snapz record the wolfenstein music if i let it playing?...maybe i can use the record file to export it to mp3...i love the wolfenstein macintosh music

  • Cool can you do that with the wolf3d music? I don't know where you could find an mp3 file for it especally the mac one! I'm sure you could use snapz, try it...

    Thanks

  • good thing I have an old Apple II that i first played it on, and a OS9 iMac laying around

    thank you

  • Awesome, should run great on both! Maybe better on the apple II...

    Enjoy ^o^

  • why does your run so smooth and yet when i play it on my mac its in slowmo

  • Hey, I am played this game on an imac OS9, I was also using the shift key to run through the game... If you play wolf3d in (classic mode) on OSX it will lag! Try a older computer. ;)

    Cheers!

  • sweet!
