  • I just wonder how much are the amps and the turn table?

  • Another video edited.... Why doesn't the audio come from the amplifier?...

  • Hi.

Which music did you use on this video?

    Thanks.

    Paolo

  • for the price of that stereo, you might aswell just hire the musicians to play live..

  • @idektron

    LOL

  • great video george,a little more percussion would be nice!!

  • WoW!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!

  • I need a smoke....because this video just made sweet love to me!

  • ебанутые аудиофилы!

  • @IAlexanderN

    сам дурак нах

  • @moriart13 Лечиться не пробовал?

  • @IAlexanderN

Не у меня саунд за 2.5 косаря, а тут тысяч на 200

  • @moriart13 Фуф, а я думал что ты один из них :)

  • @IAlexanderN

  • A nice system . A bit too good maybe. What I mean by that is if a system is so revealing you start to hear the imperfections of the recording then Hi-Fi has missed its point. You cant spend your life listening to Audiophile wank just because the music you used to like sounds imperfect. Trust me it has taken 25 years to assemble my system and at long last it does justice to a variety of recordings. Forget 21st century Loudness Wars recordings they are shit

  • I think i've notices that there is a certain sound that rock fans like today that for me kinda turns my stomach and makes me feel sick.

Its a certain kind of distortion in the upper bass region that certain speakers can re-create.

I personally like listening to most of my rock records on my electrostatics.

My old Spica woofer and tweeter speakers sound good too.

I once sold Paradigm and B&W and they weren't that good.

  • I've heard alot of systems and speakers over the years and I have never heard anything better than good electrostatic speakers.

I use Acoustats but the Sound Labs are good.

They may suck for rock because they can't create the tremendous distortion many conventional speakers can create.

I can't stand live rock concerts anymore because of all that distortion.

  • i gotta ask, whats the deal with the vacuum tubes and the wood under the cables? system looks cool.

  • Great to see that amazing table designed by a woman, Spotheim

  • If you smoke more weed it might sound even better. Thats some crazy trip your on?

  • Nice Jeff Rowland gear.

  • The music is:

A Miles Davis and Bill Evans collaboration titled:

    Blue in Green

from the Miles Davis album - Kind of Blue

  • the dog likes music too

  • After i seen your video of the Cardas RCA caps. I just had to go run out and get some.

  • I have a high-end system myself with electrostatic speakers.

I did an A-B comparison between listening to a good LP on my system and having great sex and the stereo slightly won out.

  • @Anderskh i prefer the sex.

  • @Anderskh then u r gay

  • WOAH! That is one SWEET turntable! I am using BOSE Companion 3 as my computer's speakers, and the sound is.... TERRIFIC!

I have a 25 year old Magnepan SMG, and I rebuilt it to MY specifications, and hooked up to an old Nakamichi SR-3 reciever. I live in a mid-sized APARTMENT, so can't do really much serious listenning. I will up-load a video someday soon.....

  • at the same time heres a guy who loves his Hobbie so good for him.

  • that even sounded good on my lap top, shit

  • It looks a bit much, but I have to admit the soundstage definitely had more clarity than normal even over the speakers in my mac laptop.

  • the dog doesn't look happy ;)

  • Wow very nice

  • Beautiful system.

  • Where can you listen to hi end speakers? Conferences? Is there a store for them?

  • Very impressive set up. I still have my Magneplanar Tympany 1 speakers, similar to yours, and a smaller Magnepan. I ran the Tympany speakers with a McIntosh 2300 bi amped with a 2nd amp of 400 watts for bass on two KEF 9 x 13 woofers with a 13 ft transmission line enclosure. They worked very well together. I still say once you get hooked to listening to bi polar type speakers it is very difficult to go back to the in the box sound. My system is no match for yours, very nice setup.

  • very very nice my friend ..See my clip - Stereophile Audio

  • George don`t put me to sleep

  • Great sound but 1 thing ive never understood is why audiophiles listen to such boring music! Ive had IIIa's they were very good needed alot of power amps specifically even bi amped i use a arc d90b, d120 and sp10 but couldnt get the volume That may not be iportant with boring selections such as this but MILES DAVIS AND THE MODERN JAZZ GIANTS on PRESTIGE? Now that swings That would be a demo

  • because of the production value of the album. When you critic a music source, you will chase everything about it.

  • I thought of the same thing but were afraid to ask! Boring music...

  • @TTheKKid No music is boring. Your just not hearing it.

  • @TTheKKid thats stero typing dude not all of us audiophiles listen to boring music. i am very eclectic so i listen to lots of stuff mainly rock, also classical, electronica, jazz, r&b etc etc

  • @TTheKKid i'm an audiophile and i listen to EVERYTHING, including jazz

  • the dog is scared of that thing

  • I owned a pair of Magneplanar Tympani speakers in the 90's, and IMHO, they're the best out there -- Awesome! I drove them with a modified Dynaco 70 amp with a PAS-2 preamp... Very clean!

  • If he thinks is listening to a wonderful sounding system, then he is, the mind is a powerful thing, and must people do not have any idea how powerful the mind is.

  • The bases of the audiophile world rest on the placebo effect.

  • I think there is a lot of truth in that statement. He needs to get a DJ to come over and show him how to scratch on that turntable :P

  • I agree that when people start getting this far into audiophildome, it's becomes a lot more about the equipment than the music. There's only so much detail to be heard and thousands of uncontrollable sonic influences. I can't fault these maniacs though, it's pretty damn cool to have a turntable as sophisticated as the space shuttle.

  • I really know what you mean, because I've been there before. I spent thousands on audio in the past and I became obsessed with details about sound. Today, I still like good sound, but only with a MP3 player and a good headphone.

  • LOL. You know you got it bad when you're buying cradles so the earth's vibrations don't get through to your 5 inch diameter speaker cables! Again, I guess it's better to waste your money on cable diapers than cocaine and hookers. : )

  • That's the most psychotic turntable I've ever seen. AWESOME.

  • I can only imagine how unbelievable that must sound. That's got to be at least $50,000 in cable alone, of course he owns the company so it's all free to him. Audiophile doesn't even express that incredible setup

  • Cool... the best listening room!

  • Is this what "audiophile" means?

  • It can mean many things but.. i'd say yes.
