@erochow Is the garlic bud on the scape edible? I found some garlic scapes growing in front of a mall and the flowers were starting to bloom, some of them still in scape form. I've been wondering if these scapes are edible in this stage because The scapes you picked had a shorter bud. They're probably just for sort of decoration but I couldn't get my mind of the scapes. Is it supposed to not smell like garlic? Because it didn't smell like garlic at all to me.
I just bought some garlic scapes at the farmers market today and had never seen this beautiful thing before! Thank you for the video, I've learned a lot today.
When we moved into our house, our neighbor, an old Hungarian gave us some garlics that were grown from ones he brought from the old country. We still have them growing. Thanks for the vids. The stainless steel factoid was great.
i bought this house im living in and didnt have a clue what scapes were......i've been cooking them ever since 2007 and they are fabulous......however my scapes dont curl..they are enormous tall straight stalks....perhaps it's the type of garlic
You sure love the word great.
