  • DEMIS FAVORITES

  • he is the best

  • ..and the legendary Charles"Meatman" Meeks on bass!!!!

  • @xylfox Chuck and Charles with the General on guitar? Thats some of the best music ever made!

  • 3 people dont feel to good

  • lousy guitar solo with a lousy strat with single coils. he never even came close to the original players efforts

  • @toejam498 i agree with you on that...Grant Geissman did the oringinal solo and his was superb ...this guy put no effort on the solo at all but still a song without him

  • This is a all time classic! One of my favorite songs!

  • I can play this on my nifty lil signet... a minute of it anyway, which is good enough 4 me i love this guy

  • very cool....

  • this song is the greatest.I grew up to this playing in my home town of Las Vegas New Mexico.I love it thanksssssssss

  • TO THE 3 ASSHOLES WHO DISLIKE THIS CLASSIC,THAT'S COOL YALL.BUT JUST THE SAME GO TO HELL.

  • Cool!!

  • Anyone know what mouthpiece Chuck is using?

  • @m015094 Jesus's mouthpieces

  • i just love that sax player! It makes me so happy to listen to him play!

  • that bass sounds a little flat

  • I first heard Chuck Mangione and his band playing live at Ontario Place, Toronto in 1977 and again in 1978, sitting on the grass bank on a summer evening ( and yes the evening was warn ) the music was my first taste this type of jazz and the Fuggle Horn; as you can hear in my words, great times. This was before he hit the big time and than faded. He has not lost his talent.

  • @arumney1 I first heard of chuck mangione when i was in a record store in the city and i saw his album and thought he looked really cool. so i bought it and checked it out, haha one of my better random buys.

  • I first heard this tune back in 1974, and it's still one of my favourites. It brings back many happy memories of my visit to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. when I was in the Royal Navy.

  • baby making music, All night long!!!

  • @mrpga007 "Write!"...

  • Another boricua! WOOO!!!

  • love this music keep up the music reminds me my younger years

  • :O yeeah so good, a band whos don't need presentation

  • a true band

  • a true band, hands down

  • to be initiated in the same fraternity as Chuck Mangione makes me feel kinda awesome right now

  • @Ponyboi100 can you play trupet...if so then you can play flugelhorn, they are essentially the same assuming you are using two b flat or c or whatever key trumpet and flugelhorns. If you cant play either then i would reccomend private lessons, they are however quite expernsive and after over 10 years playing trumopet and flugelhorn i can barely play this piece, its hard and takes a lot of practice

  • love it! really makes me feel good....

  • wow chuck got a tan

  • Where is his trademark orange shirt and vest?

  • love chuck and this song but too bad he had to take some stuff down. still hes awesome tho

  • i always thought he played a sax... fail :-^

  • @djghostyel same here :(

  • @koyax85 Yup! You and your father are the same, cocksucking faggots!

  • @djghostyel i think that your thinking of, "Kenny G."...

  • @djghostyel hahaha me too

  • yo a chuck mangione lo conosco por mi padre desde los 5 años y la verdad es un gran musico, uno de los mejores y aun espero que pueda pisar tierras aztecas, uno de los grandes!!!

  • simplemente fantástico.. espectacular gracias gracias..... sr Magnione

  • That saxophonist is like. THE BEST EVER. But I really wouldn't know. I'm a bassist.

  • Thats chris vadala, and yea, hes great. He came and played at my high school, and man, you should have heard his soprano solo! Talk about amazing.

  • i just watched bughousemaste's version of this song, and he's making mistakes all over the place.... Maybe perfect the song before you accuse Chuck Mangione of being amateurish.

  • bughousemaster so little of a brain you have, lets hear some more of that less than grey matter!

  • hey BughouseMASTER we are all converging on a chuck mangione vid (including you ) . why ? because hes the greatest ! I know it , you know it , just like everyone else.

were not watching a bughouse video . why ? because your nowhere . your a nobody .

when you compose a song that people are still interested in

more then 30 years later , then I'll go to your video and tell you what a fucking asshole you are !

your band sucks ass by the way .

    you dick !

  • just a mistake... not a big thing... great version. LOVED IT

  • dude...... ur comment just makes me laugh. damn.

  • all you ppl thats say he's pro and missed a note who cares. i mean really just because he missed a note does'nt mean he's not amazing. okkae for you dumb ppl there are something called chops when you play and no matter if you pro or not you WILL run out after a while. and those ppl that criticize about a mistake, you go try and put on a concert and play for as long as he did and that play it. yea it's pretty hard. so just chill out chuck is freakin amazing.

Ps. all trumpet players arnt cocky

  • this isn't an insult but whats up with his trumpet is it Evan a trumpet? i'm in my school band and i have never seen a trumpet like that.

  • The horn that he's using is a flugelhorn. Its similar to a trumpet, but has a darker sound to it.

  • In JAZZ, there are no mistakes, just free-flow jams.

  • his lips are worn out and exhausted...notice how he has to go an octave lower at times because his lips won't make the high notes (octave higher) like on his recordings..I know, I play this and my lips give out also..tough song...

  • Yep... lips worn out yet he's a PRO?!?!?!! incredible!! that's completely unacceptable from a person like him.... unbelievable.

  • Hey buddy,

Until you come up with a legendary global smash it you should feel free to critique. Until then - shut the fuck up. Seriously. You're a nobody trashing on a legend.

  • wow... another mistake @ 1:14-1:15 & 1:31... i have yet to Chuck have a FLAWLESS performance like a true professional should... as a Trumpet player myself it's quite sad...!

  • You must not be a jazz musician then. If you were, you would know that a large part of jazz music is not only improvisation, but altering regular phrases within the music to give a different sound/feel. He may have messed a note, but to me it breaks the monotony and sounds nice. Also, arguably one of the best trumpeters of all-time Miles Davis made 'mistakes' like that all the time, and people loved it. So, maybe think about the style next time . . .

  • Oh, but I AM a jazz musician and i did this song myself MANY times already, including twice on my own vids and no you're wrong the mistake makes it sounds terrible & obvious that he didn't practice it very well the night before.... and miles davis is FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR from the best trumpeters of all time you should really get your mind out of the gutter bec u dont know what you're talking about.

  • Miles Davis, far from one of the best . . . Wow, considering that many people worldwide consider Kind of Blue to be one of the best albums ever released, not just in jazz, but overall . . . I can tell you are a trumpet player, they always were over annoying and cocky. As for practice/performance, are you going to tell me straight up that you have never ever, not once, never missed a single note, count, hold, rest, anything in your life? Give me a break, go back under your rock.

  • compslut, are you STUPID?! of course ppl make mistakes but then that's where PRACTICE comes into play... and bughousemaster is one of the BEST trumpet players out there if you're tonedeaf and cant realize that yourself then i pity you much better fall on a knife fag.

  • you fucked up in your own rendition of this classic. don't put the dude down. he might not have gotten laid in a while or his wife left him.... oh yeah he wrote the fucking song so..... he is allowed to fuck it up.

P.S. you play pretty nice as well.

  • That's not a trumpet, dickhead.

  • Geeze. I went to your you tube sight. For someone who thanks god and gives him all the glory, you tally up each and everything you see as a mistake like you were writing sins in the book of life.

Point is we're watching Chuck. Not you. There may come a time you reach a status that we search your youtube videos out. I hope you get the privilege of touching other people with your music like CM. THAT'S what it's all about. Not tallying mistakes.

    Peace out.

  • Your hubris is disgusting. You are a youbube nobody. In your own mind you may sound good alone in your parents basement. Who are you to disrespect Chuck? Clown.

  • Thanks this song really helped me after a helluva day.

  • i believe its Grant Geissman not sure if it him in the video tho but i know Grant Geissman had played with Chunk on this song

  • Hi, I saw Chuck in 1980 at Wallingford, during my sojourn to USA. After twenty years, he came to my home town in Poland- to Szczecin. It was on May 26th 2000. Here, in Poland it was " Mothers day". I don't have to say, what I have felt at that moment. It was my happiest day, ever.I really love his music, so much, you can't imagine that.

  • Thanks, boricuajazzz8 for the upload....

  • That takes me back. I was awestruck when I first heard this ditti. Funky town platform shoes and wide lapels groovy town funk soul brother!!! Afro King legend!!! Yeah Get the drift.....

  • jazz up feels so good!

  • Sick hat

  • The year between 1976 and 1983 saw an infiltration of great New York based Jazz into the pop charts.

This piece was a prime example.

It was a blessing and, I believe, the last time it had happened.

Mangione, George Benson, Herbie Hancock, Herb Albert and other had chart topping songs that added so much to the mainstream music world.

Thanks for the upload of this Jazz classic.

  • sounds much better on the cd

  • one of the best episodes of family guy!

  • Yes it is.

  • Yeah I can't believe it either the guy who posted it had to take it off because of the copyrights from FOX! You can still go to hulu's website and watch the entire episode called "Stew-roids"

  • Good looking for posting the vid. I absolutely love this dude. Cant wait to see him next month in Vegas. If you haven't heard the version with vocals you gotta check it out. One of the most beautiful things i've heard in my life!

  • Boricuajazz, I was at this concert. How the heck you got this?? It brings me very good memories. I remember when CBA (in spanish) was the main international jazz hub in PR. Grover Washington Jr. went there, George Benson, The Rippingtons, Spyro Gyra. Every year you were waiting who were going to be there. Now it is regueton, merengue, ... Thanks to God they;ve got the Choliseo and we can go back to those good 'ol days.

  • i like that melody!

    no words!

  • I couldn't agree more. Give me the original, good as the vocal version may be.

  • Hey this isn't the General Grant G

  • Does anyone know if there is this song with lyrics?? I can find it just with music... the lyrics are:

    Morning's Here

    The Morning is Here

    Sunshine is Here

    The Sky is Clear

    The Morning's here

    Get into Gear

    Breakfast is near

The Dark of Night Has Disappeared

  • great song, unforgettable

  • i love tis song!

  • is amasing

  • Yeah sweet delay on the guitar :P - - - -

  • I enjoy Chris Vadala and the virtuousity he plays on his array of plumbing hardware

  • I totally agree. I always really loved the original sax solo on the album cut that seemed to later be cut from the single version. I saw Chuck in Nashville a year ago or so and it was very cool. Chris wasn't there though.

  • FLUGELLLLLL HOOOOOOOOOORN!

  • what kind of instrument is that because its not a ttrumpet or cornet so what is it>???

  • It is called a Fluegelhorn.

Plays in the same key and fingering as a trumpet, but it has a mellower dark tone compared to a trumpet.

  • flugel...it's give a more mellow, softer sounds then the trumpet

  • waaaaaay over played. But still nice, brings me back.

  • my mother took me to this concert circa 1977, I was so happy, He had this hit on the radio and I loved it, and she knew it. Thanks Mom!

  • truely a masterpiece... one of the best Jazz songs ever played.

  • If "Feeling so Good" is wrong, baby... I don't want to be right...

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!

  • do it.

    DO IT.

do it til yo sattified -- whatevah it is--

    do it.

    DO IT.

  • Hello everybody I'm about to finish transcribing the guitar solo if you want to have a copy of this guitar pro file please let me know. Hola, pronto terminaré de transcribir el solo de guitarra si quieres una copia del archivo contáctame.

  • shut up...

  • Why should I? Maybe it is because you cannot even strum a chord on the gutar and you are suffering from sour grapes... What an insignificant comment, anyway best of all and instead blabbering and bluffing... Live your life and let others do that as well.

  • Maybe people don't want to hear you advertise. Dumbass.

  • perhaps stupid people, i support u ramiro, to like this music u need passion, and aparently thats what u "dumbasses" Dont have...thats the right attitude of sharing in the world of the music ramiro, let this incompetent and imbesil people talk...plus, their opinion its not important

  • Wow. People just don't like to listen to people advertise a bunch of bullshit. So shut the fuck up.

  • Chris Vadala ROCKS! I heard he was not as interesting to hear when he's not playing with Chuck. Great video!

  • I don't know about thing, but Chuck brings out the best in every musician.

  • His solo on the album is one of the best solos I've heard. I don't know if he still there now but he taught at University of Maryland. When I studied music, I was told I would be able to study with him. Then at the last minute, I was told it would be someone else :(

  • played with chris when he came to Lawrence University. He is a pretty incredible player on his own. walked away from his mic a few times and still was able to cover up our jazz band!
