I can hear phrases from ur favorite guitarists,obiously the most evident is the sencond section of Jason Becker´s "Eleven blue egiptians"(I think),before the blues coda rigth?..You can try not to jump n cut from one phrase to another maybe with a chorus break,bridge,break down,a counter point modulation bridge etc.,to reach the next phrase a bit smoother.IMHO Theres nothing wrong by cutting the phares,but if you wanna put some cover licks on your own music is better to hide those a little ;)
