One of my all time faves of Damo's vast unreleased catalogue. I'd quibble with a few of your lyrical interpretations but more importantly does anybody else think that Damo could do an incredible medley of this with The Pretenders classic "Don't Get Me Wrong" (a la Never into AOMM or going into Creep with some of his songs)? Every time I sing this I find it fits in so perfectly right after the chorus ("...I can wait") & both share the same theme of futile attempts to stifle undeniable attraction.

I think damien needs to be in love again. thats the only way you can write songs or poems.. you need love and pain. at the same time. writers might agree with me.

with no feelings theres no words to express how you feel.

we need love to live, and pain to survive.

@melissaselmi So true. He needs to do whatever he did when he created O. Go on the streets, small pubs, sing, fall in love, get his heart broken and write about it & make music that feeds the soul. He shouldn't be hanging out with Hollywood actors and making trips to Spain with them. Or helping actors to write songs..

Back to basic, with no plans so he will not get frustrated again because that's what killed him.

@Coffeejunkie84 I'm not sure if I agree. True, some of his best music comes from when hes heartbroken but that is who he used to be. Artists, like 'real' people, change over time & old habits don't always give you the same results. His music is amazing, including songs that aren't from O. Saying he 'shouldn't be hanging out with Hollywood actors' doesn't really do anything. We don't know how he works best or how he feels. Time is necessary for some & helping actors write songs might help him too

Knew Damien was influenced by Radiohead but this is quite a lot. Not only the choice and way of using the falsetto notes. Chords also.

However, Damien is Damien. It's real, simple and awesome.

@robinsomfan I think everyone is making too much of the Radiohead thing as if Thom Yorke created falsetto notes, Thom was extremely influenced by Jeff Buckley, first using extensive use of the falsetto on Fake Plastic Trees after a drunken night after seeing Jeff in concert, who in turn was very influenced by Morrissey of the Smiths who uses alot of falsetto in their work, though obviously Damien is at least a fleeting fan of Radiohead after covering Creep :)
