If that was the case, wouldn't it be more likely that it was a trend in Europe where a great band like Eluveitie's from? After all most popular stuff rises and falls. @Gorind I'm an irish dude in the south east and yes i will admit that alot of bands not from America are amazing...finntroll, eluveitie, mael mordha, gama bomb, amon amarth, ensiferum etc...but, America has produced many of the bands that would have an influence on these great bands...if i'm not mistaken, manowar are americans? and theres metallica, megadeth, anthrax, i believe dio aswell...nevermore i think aswell...also my three favourite bands happen to be all american :)

@Gorind I understand the message you are sending...America is, unfortunately/fortunately the shore which most metal music wishes to wash upon, and given the proximity to the "majority" of the metal music scene/recording industry (at least in my day - the late 80's, 90's), American bands get the fast track to being signed. Thus said, the "foreign" bands that make it here and enjoy a measure of success are either entirely image driven...or fucking talented as shit. However...

Death, Atheist and Cynic are just a few...throw Death Angel in as well. I LOVE Euro prog thrash (Vendetta/Coroner/Deathrow)...­­and love Sep...even Xentrix who were pretty F'in riffy. Bottom line...don't play for likes or dislikes...play to be real...love real fucking metal, no matter the flag!
