snoriega your wrong the 89-90 in us came with ka24 sohc and 91-94 came with ka24 dohc and in japan they were called 180sx because 87-90 they came with ca18 dohc and after that they came from 91-90 called 200sx with the sr20de then the 200sx came out with its own model not the 240sx model any more well you guys need to do some research

theyve got different engines and drive from different sides. same shassy - rps13. but the 180sx comes stock with the DOHC CA18 and then later with the DOHC SR20. the 240sx was the model introduced to the american market and come with some gay engine called a KA24 which is SOHC which didnt come turbocharged and you might as well use in small trucks.

you can turbocharge a na engine but usually you wont beable to run it on high boost due to most jap naturally aspirated engines being low compression engines.

There are also lots of options for engine swaps - CA18, SR20 and RB20 conversions probably being the most popular.

alright, im trying to figure some stuff out about engines but if i dont know how to do most of the swap myself is it even worth while with the fees and all that? and what does an sr20 go for roughly? i saw a video of someone with that doing 8.7 or so 1/4 mile

ThE 240sx that was introduced to america, it comes at first with a 1.8 SOCH, the second edition, after 91 comes out with a KA24, the KA24 is NOT SOHC, It is DOHC!!...

i have a ka24e...SOHC. 89-90 is 2.4L SOHC. 91-94 are KA24DE DOHC

actually, this 180sx was probably running an sr20det instead of the ca18, since the chassy seems to be the later model, cuz after 91, they no longer usesd the ca18 for the 180sx, instead they all came standard with the 2.0 sr20

umm no it's most likly the 180sx which is in fact a bit different than the american 240sx, the 180sx has a CA18 in it which is a 1.8 liter and is the japanise version of the 240sx, and the 240sx has the KA24 with is a 2.4 liter
