  • Aunt jemaima in the flesh!? [0.o]

  • This is so fun! To see the perspective of these people! I am thankful for today, but also thankful for the creation of this place. It continues to bring me, and millions of people happiness.

  • DANG YOU ABC! Messing up Walt Disney and throwing him off que @4:15 what's wrong with you guys!

  • Happy 56th Birthday, Disneyland!

  • Well, I'm from 2011 and the world ain't peaceful OR unified so I guess he was way off

  • This is so amazingly nuts. Like stepping back into a time long before I was even thought of, where the year I was born, 1986, was the setting for Tomorrowland. The magic is so...tangible. I can't wait to go back.

  • The experience and thrills of a rocket ship on the Space Port turned into Pizza Port where the experience and thrills of a pepperoni pizza can be consumed on a daily basis.

  • Gasp* The man brought a hundred mouse traps into Disneyland! And Walt was ok with this, LOL.

  • "And there's aunt jemima" LMAO Thats fucked up XD

  • I wonder if there's still a whore house on the second floor. Maybe next to Club 33? roflol

  • 1986......love it!

  • I'm booking a surprise for my family I did my research at bestvaluethemeparks (.) com

  • wow,the part when they play jazz, and white people in 19'th century clothes dance and clap at the black kid,,,what a trainwreck!!!i

  • damn did they get the future wrong LOLXD

  • lol 1986, wow if only hed of seen it, oh look the space shuttle challenger, ooooh ahhhh darn lol, real advance in space flight, fking o ring lol.

  • aunt jemima that's just fucked

  • Happy 55th Birthday Disneyland ºoº

  • @sir1125 how did you do the Mickey??

  • 1986!! Wow!

  • 2:56 lol

  • @Killinggrapes ohhh lol i hadn't noticed hahaha!!!!!!!! =][=

  • 1986 thats WAY ahead...this is hilarious listening to the 50s

  • freedogshapoo if you are going to disneyland today and you in the New Orleans Square waiting for the train look across you see what left of the Fontierland Station.

  • lol, in the year 1986... sure would be great if we had all this. ^_^

  • i thought that new Orleans square didnt open till the 60's

  • Autotopia? -.-

  • the ping pong ball trick! Great!

  • I wonder where that telescope went?

  • wtf!!!

was Robert Cummings caught on camera cheating on his wife????

    2:56

  • He was married five times.

  • is this your way of saying "yes he was" :D

  • yes, he was.

  • Back then there was hope for the future. The willingless to build ,to create. Capatalism. Now we have bailouts, Crooked inividuals, encluding envromentalists who are thinking i there self interest. I think America is waiting for someone else to do it. We need to get in this creativity mode again. Profit from indivualism is ok. it creates jobs.

  • @tissao88 Yes. And the reporters didn't hate America. Walt was as great example of what America is really all about. He was always taking the next step. Had an unbelievable work ethic. He hated unions.

  • at about 2:15 they would of gotten in trouble for being "sexist" and Politically incorrect.. wow times change. thank you liberals

  • yeah - Harken back to the Pirates of the Caribbean. Mind you - it' snot just liberals...religious right.

  • Even if tomorrow land was out dated in reality Disney was ahead of its time with animatronics and such... This dude had some wild ideas , and themes at that

  • Wait a minute, wasn't Ronald Reagen the President in 1986??? How ironic he threw to this segment.

  • Comment removed

  • autopia- the 'super' highway of the future... and the cars are going at like 2 mph hehe

  • I know how we can use it wisely. Use it on el paso.

  • 5:08 LOL it's the year 1986

  • Aww...poor Walt started reading the dedication at the wrong time....gotta love that guy lol

  • Up ? no they didn't say " And there's aunt Jermima " at 1:29

That was wrong and funny all at the same time.

  • i think it was random how when the first ping pong was thrown none of them reacted. lol

  • Bob Cummings kissing the girl and getting caught on camera - real or staged? :)

  • Real. The show, like the rest of the opening day in general was plagued with miscues, bloopers and other goofs.

  • Yeah.. That was obviously staged though:)

  • Well, Disney himself said that when by the time he opens Tomorrowland, it will already be outdated. Still, it's amazing to see what the past thought of the future. Makes you kinda wish you lived there instead of here.

  • The last line of this segment;

"The power of the atom. And if you grow up be certain that you use it wisely."

IF you grow up. Not all of you are going to be growing up, you know.

Truth. It is a harsh mistress.

  • There was an entire episode of the Disneyland TV show all about the atom, which is hosted by Dr. Haber.

  • LOL!

  • YES new orleans square didn't open until 1966

  • did he say 48 states?

  • Yes this was in 1955. Alaska and Hawaii didn't become states until 1959.

  • its amazing the changes to Disneland but keeping main street pretty much the same

  • Of course, even Main Street had its share of updates, albeit relatively minor compared to the rest of the park.

  • OH NOOS, SUGGESTIVE THEMES!! *covers eyes*

  • I thought Disneyland didn't open the New Orleans theme until the 60s?

  • that's what I originally thought maybe not the whole thing i'll research that

  • Firehouse five plus two!?!?! you all realize that those guys are the great disney animators right? wow, this stuff is unbelievable...i wish i coulda been there in person

  • did you see? autopia without the tracks

  • yeah I noticed. Maybe they added tracks because the had accidents and hit each other and slide around everywhere...so they added tracks...That's my guess.

  • yea 1986!!!!!!

  • lol!!! 1986! hahahaha

  • ... I thaught I got a signal ...? lol

  • ooh 1986! hahaha :)

  • impressive that when disney oponed there were only 48 states

  • yeah thats hillarious. its amazing how far we have come along since then.

  • yah old tomorrowland is now new tomorrowland . old tomorrowland is gone for good
