The reason the metal atlatl wont penetrate the bottle from that distance is because it flexes way more han the wooden one which makes it a simple glancing shot from that distance.
I would have loved to hear your comments on this video. They cut the audio because it was not authorized or something. Could you redo the voice over leave out the song, that way we could all hear what you were saying about the Darts.
Great job, Guys. I agree with Tom. Due to the flex of darts, you can actually be a more accurate from a little farther away. This gives the dart time to "flatten out". I've posted this video on our Michigan Atlatl website. I'm looking forward to the next one! Thanks, Jim
This is the coolest atlatl video on youtube! Awesome. The aluminum dart is taking too long to recover from the flexing at such close range. Try standing back about 5 more feet and throwing at the water jug. That should work! Such a cool video. Thanks for posting it.
