I never liked the Foo Fighters, but it isnt cause I think that they are a bad band...it is just everytime that I hear them I just wish that NIRVANA was still around :(
that's a reason not to like a band? It's not like you were married to Nirvana or Kurt..You just sound like a tard not talking about the music. No offense, but if you're not going to like a band, at least back it up with a musical reason.
i dont know if its just me, but i think the foo fighters are shit... i like maybe one song of theirs.. But nirvana is my favourite band i fukin love them..am i weird?
no its not you, FF are fucking awful. DG just shouts against the most horrible disorganised melodies that just dont make sense...lovely guy,met him a few times when i met Nirvana but man...FF suck.
i knew someone who met kurt at a tower records signing, they played some songs, and when he brought the record to kurt to get it signed, he said kurt smelled bad , like rotten fish. This was in like 90 or 91 i believe.

Thank you. Dave Grohl is a whore. Foo Fighters are a horrible joke with the exception of Everlong which was no doubt inspired by Nirvana, but other than that, he cannot shout, he cannot sing, and make it sound pleasing to the ears. Needless to say he is probably one of the best drummers in the world. He should stick to that. [Can't sing]
i doubt that would have stopped Kurt's burning, seething ambition, but i'm sure the music would have been different somehow. Maybe better, maybe worse, maybe neither better nor worse, but different. Who knows.
no sleep image of fear may day may day also my fav nirvana song even though its a cover i relate to the lyrics afucking shame the loss of kurt wish he never picked up the dope after that it was ballgame
This song is on an album. It's on there, With The Lights Out Box Set. 2nd CD. I'm thinking they was going to put this song along with Marigold, Clean up before she comes, you know you're right and if you must all on another new Album but then he passed away.
Oh never knew that about the tribute album, and Marigold was made by Dave Grohl when he was still in Nirvana, that's why the older version is on the WTLO Box Set.
Marigold was written while Dave was still in Nirvana. So Marigold is originally a Nirvana song and was released as a B-side on the Heart Shaped Box single.
Also, Foo Fighters weren't originally Pocketwatch. Pocketwatch was a collection of songs Dave played & recorded by himself which he released only on cassette tape. He then went on and recorded the 1st Foo Fighters album on his own (he didn't have a band yet) and couldn't play it live until he got a band together.
D7 is a Wipers song that Nirvana covered. The Wipers is one of the most under- rated bands of all time. They actually started the "Grunge" style in 1977 before anyone knew Kurt. Kurt idolized Greg Sage the main man behind the Wipers.
i remember when kurt dived into the stage and the dumbass bouncer punched him in the head, and all the fans came running to kick the bouncers ass that just shows how much respect people have for kurt

Marigold was written by Dave long before he formed The Foo Fighers.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE NIRVANA SONG TOO.
WHY WASN'T THIS ON AN ALBUM. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE AND WHEN IT WAS RECORDED? I FOUND IT ABOUT 15 years ago...Never figured this out
J90shero 4 years ago
This song is on an album called "Is This Real?", released by the Wipers in 1979. Kurt Cobain was 12 and hadn't even started playing guitar yet.

Not as good as the Wipers version, though, to be fair, it's Nirvana's version, and should be treated as such.
