he appears to have a lot tension built up in his neck, jaw, shoulders, and upper back. highly doubtful he is classically trained. notice with the bow girp. he never puts his pinky down on the stick and he has a chicken wing for his bow arm. the "chinrest" is not a chin rest, but a jaw rest. props on the flexible wrist.

And your ad libs have to be musically coherent and add something to the performance. I guess this guy is champion of not playing the tune and sometimes going pretty fast. There are hundreds of clips of this and many of them leave this in the dust for speed and musicality; some of the youngsters just leave me with my mouth hanging open.

"Championship" fiddlers have won some amateur competition somewhere. Want to hear some REAL fiddlin? Search for Vernon Derrick, now deceased, formerly with the Stanleys, Jimmy Martin, Hank, Jr., Hank III and others. I'm not knocking Danny boy. He won the competition and was probably the best fiddler in the contest.

Actually suzuki violin teaches you to bend your wrist like that, I know, im taking lessons right now. However the arm looked strange to me too.
