All the technic i have i lernt from him... from his videos... is my main inspiration... in second place i have Marco Pitruzzella... and the drummer from Born Of Osiris... from who i have no name
Fuck you motherfucker... Show some damn respect, this video was uploaded by George Kollias himself (notice the gkdrummer?) and if it weren't for Karl he probably wouldn't be in the band so George may of taken offense at what you just said, idiot.
aaaa, jazz has too many rules, it's like opera. The only reason it's hard is cus you have to follow these strict guidlines or it's not "jazz" But theres tons of other things you could do that are harder in many ways.
LO? jazz on drums is a joke. any form of music other than metal is a fucking joke. nothing gets more technical than this. u need skill speed endurance and technique. neil pert couldnt play this and neither could buddy rich. not to say they didnt inspire it but metal drummers are the best drummers. no point in arguing so dont even talk about jazz
WTF? are you fuckin nuts? where do you think that metal drummers learn all the tecniques? they got them from no where? for example in these video GK its using the moeller tecnique in the blast beats, where do you think he get it? GK learn to play whit John Stavropoulos a GREAT greek jazz drummer, soo... SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU KNOW NOTHING
i said jazz and all that inspired this fuck tard. learn to read. he may he used that technique but hes incorporating it into this hard style. so hes doing exactly what i said and im still right and ur retarded? good argument kid.
Wtf?you was trashin Jazz and all generes that isnt metal you fucking dick. playin metal isnt hard, its all about being quick, and do the thing rigth, it doesnt have any variation, doesent have poly-rythms, doesnt require too mutch imagination. I love Kollias and he's a great drummer but he isnt the best, or at least in the videos i've seen. Grate tecnique, grate endurance, grate all, but he just isnt creative at all, well i think that the drums of Nile cant be soo creative, its alla about speed
lol? if u think this song took no imagination to make and isnt as creative as jazz than u must be taking some sick drugs man. your absolutely clueless with music and u clearly dont even play an instrument so how about u do urself a favor and stop looking like a dumbass?
Man, im a metal drummer, check out my band, its called nonus aequilibrium, i learned to play drums by earin pure metal and i can tell you, playing metal its fucking brutal and you feel pretty sick by playin that fast, but in the end, you're just reapeatin the same shit over and over and you wont advance, check in these video, for example how many different fills does kollias does... its the same patern over and over snare-tom-snare-cymbal all at a super fast speed.
so am i. thats why u mix it up. this type of metal IS repetitive but not all metal is like that. and ofc kollias does the same pattern over and over hes not that good. hes just fast
Kollias is great, check out some of his stuff, preticularly "Cerebrum-Pattern Of Fear (drum cam)" very creative, I think it will show case some of his other talents rather than speed.
every heard pof meshuggah or ANY technical metal band? LOTS of metal band use polyrythmns and technical patters, shut your mouth when your talking about something you know nothing of
WTF? man, you dont know what we are talkin about so shut the fuck up.... we're not talkin about that ANY metal drummers use the same shit, just that kollias isnt that creative as anyone says
Oh! thats true i forgot the solo stuff, yeah, its increadibly creative, i think its really REALLY mad, but in ithyphalic i wont hear a 100% of his creativity, maybe 60 or 70%. P.s.:the stuff that he does whit the two hihats, and the bass drum is REALLY incredible imo hehe
wow, all this cus of my one little comment? HAHAHAHAHAHA. well as a side note, i wasn't disrespecting jazz at all. Most things originated from what came before it in drumming. the Moeller technique actually was developed by a drummer in the military a long time ago. He taught other drummers like Sanford A Moeller who perfected it and named it, and he taught his students.
and another interesting thing is that Traditional grip is exactly that. Drummers in the military had there drums leaning to one side, so it was very awkward to play match grip. they invented trad grip as an easy more ergonomic way to play. and so they taught others how to drum, including the people the played drum sets, but it just carried on anyway. Even though it is very un ergonomic technically speaking to play trad grip on a standard drum set set up.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
he's like a faster version of Ringo Starr... he even faster than Lars Ulrich..the metallica drummer... anyways also fast was this guy who owns corbas and playes for Eight Infernal...earlier Nine.
No he isn't. His solos are jsut lame without a creative point and what's drumming about? About Lars's only doublebass and 4th notes snare hitting? No, it's about creativity-simply.
I wouldn't say Lars is lame hes good for that kind of metal but the drumming is a little too easy. George plays death metal which is the hardest thing to play on drums.
ok i wrote that bad,yes Lars play little easy but why the hell they shout, Laras,Lars! He's the number one greatest megasuper drummer in the world.. thats what i dont like ;]
depends on where you come from...it you started playing jazz and that's what you play then no...and guys of Georges and Dereks caliber can play jazz no problem. Jazz is just a matter of feel and independence...both of which they have if you've seen them play other styles.
I love it when he's blasting and headbanging. George loves what he does.
