Aprox 1 week ago it decided to die after trying 2 update its software , attempted reset several times just to be greeted with the power led continually flashing red . Even when it was "working" it was unreliable and often dropped the wireless connection 4 no reason .
I had this from August 2006 to Oct 2007 then suddenly died for no reason, when I powered it on, only 2 of 5 lights were on for a second, then full 5 lights for a second then nothing at all afterward. I changed back to my spare Netgear which I was lucky to have it. No problem since on Netgear. Did anyone had this same problem like mine by having no power light on?
i know how you must have felt, ive gone ages with my home hub, and every day my hand moves closer to that hammer, thats why we've had 2 home hubs since our time with BT
don't get me wrong about BT as an ISP - I've been with them for 4 years now and have only ever had two connection problems due to maintenance on the exchange which they kept me informed about via text messages from the engineer. They provide a GREAT stable connection for their customers and mines always been above 7MB,It's just that the HOMEHUB is a mass produced, cheap, low quality piece of hardware that for some reason is stuck into a case the size of a Britanica encyclopedia!!
Another ISP that I would suggest to steer clear of is TALK TALK from the Carphone warehouse, They're speeds are slower than dial up half the time and now they've teamed up with AOL things can only get worse!!
im meant to have a 6MB connection, they said over the phone for £30/month we are meant to have best service, i download stuff at under 60kb/s... even some sails man said BT was shit over the phone
Well you obviously have VERY little expertise in the world of PC's . By the way BT say that the "HOME HUB" is ready to go out of the box so any IDIOT can use it... so if you had to configure yours then well....... what can we say !!!
lol... it's impossible to moan at em.... you tell the guys the faults about your internet and then they go speaking INDIAN to you.... you can't even frikking understand what they're saying... Ha and the thing that really pisses me off was that the last time i went for a complain and they said they;d called me back they said it will be withing 14weeks... WTF!?!?! frikking stupid waste of time.... once they fix your connection they just make it bad again some how after a week or two....
God seems like everyones is faulty, mine exactly the same. Looses connection every second and you dont get a gd speed! cant even use the Help on it or anything. Be better off with a New ISP or Router instead of asking for another piece of crap.
I have Version 2.0 and it works fine.
Most people don't set things up properly these days, no wonder why it doesn't work for them.

No way could you sell it for £150.00!!! I could never live with the guilt of palming off this piece of tecnological embarrassment.
Don't know about the new BT hub model- maybe they have read my comments and improved it ha ha.
