@RevolverLochness I agree. Check out Cradle Snatch by Revolver, Happiness by Lisa Germano (Long Version), Anna is a Speed Freak by Pure, Look up to the Sky by The Indians and Smoke and Ashes by 13 Engines.
In my opinion, My Bloody Valentine started it all off with Soon, which Smashing Pumpkins somewhat copied with Rocket.
Having been born in the early 90s and grown up in the late 90s/00s i think 90s is the best :) music like this should come back, i mean seriously, alternative music is just awesome in every way possible, i wish i was a teenager during this time cos the 90s rule (:
I was a child in the 90s (born '91) and yet i really wish this type of music never went away I love death metal but music like this and so many other great bands of the early '90s will always have a place in my heart
@anythingnew Yea I understand that but all the great music of the early 90s from bands like Medicine to Death and awesome tv shows makes me wish I was a teen during those years in a way I sorta fill like I missed out
I agree with both sides on the subject.I miss music like this because it is associated with the wonderful sensations of my youth, and just because I don't get those same exhuberant feelings about the youngsters' music scene does'nt mean that they don't.I think the subject for worry is that "our" bands never really got their due and we wish that they were still around.
You guys need to lighten up - music has changed, and you haven't. If you don't like change, think about how the people 20 years before your favourite band feel about your favourite band.
@julzdrums Yes, I agree with you. I was born in 79, that means, I grew up on a lot of eighties and nineties music. I do like a lot of today's hard rock and heavy metal, however, I will always be an oldies guy at heart. Heroin is not great at all. :)
@julzdrums I can agree with you on the subject of music in the 90s, but heroin, I am not so sure about. I do not use drugs, so I would not know how good heroin was in the 90s or today. I work for law enforcement as a legal assistant for the Prosecutor's Office in Hudson County, NJ. Julzdrums, you have great taste in music, and I can respect that.
So, is there a higher-quality version available anywhere? I found the one from dravenfield but it appears to have about the same quality (very tinny, no bass)?
this is the best indie pop of the 1990's. version 'III' is an almost listless substitute... too bad that's the version chosen for 'The Crow.' somebody missed an opportunity to introduce one of the greatest bands of the last twenty years to a larger audience...
but, hey, it's just GENIUS, right? i mean, who cares about exposing the world to THAT?
awsome song, i dont get why everyone says that the 3rd version is the one from "The Crow" this one sounds way closer to what they play in that club scene??? prefair this version anyway.
You know we are all old when we start saying "now this is music unlike the crap they make today." Which I for one totally agree.
At least we have youtube now to watch this stuff, back then you had to get jacked into paying $17.99 (thank you Sam Goody and good riddance) for a cd when most of the time you only wanted one song.
I went to the store and the store had no milk and I was all like, "I'M HERE TO DRINK MILK" and they were all like, "We are all out of milk" and I was like, "moobayoo"
I've been listening to 90's music since...well, the 90's, and it was awesome, especially the rock scene. Seems like everything that comes out now is just sucktacular.
I AGREE WITH ThrillRider1138......music these days doesnt make you feel good or make you think much about anything. same goes for rap music. sometimes i feel like good music is dieing out or maybe we're just getting old because old people say the same about our music
@mclendon the problem is that all the new music thats well known is because the girls have huge tits and blond hair check out some underground stuff on myspace or something
@damphireprincess90 ..... yea i guess your right. maybe everyones just running out of ideas for music. there's pretty much a song about anything you can think of now lol
@mclendon Eh, just the more you carve into stone, the less space there is to carve. I personally enjoy music today. Maybe the languages you learned that are carved are lost in our age group.
You need to look harder. Not all rap music is what you hear on the radio, likewise with rock.
Go get yourself a shovel and dig. I too felt the same way, but I can now say with confidence, that there is some great stuff out there, it's just a little... buried.
Not all rap is about shoes, whores and guns ya know? Good luck in your excavations! There are gems to be found yet...
@chulk607 and it's SUPPOSED to be about something else?!! it was you holier thans that put that bullshit mentality that is was suppsoed to be about something 'important' not the rappers themselves so back to your pulpit whiny bitch!!
I'm not trying to preach. Music is subjective without a doubt. From the comments of the user I was replying to, I get the impression they are bored of the average, run-of-the-mill radio play stuff.
I was merely stating that they shouldn't write off rap as JUST that, there's a much wider range of stuff waiting to be found, if only they'll look.
I dont think all radio stuff is bad either. It's hard to express my every view in 500 characters, ya know?
@chulk607 I'm sorry I'm just getting SICK TO DEATH of the 8,000 debates about rap and how it's supposed to be about something and pious jackholes with their constant whining it's tiresome. And I'm not the world's biggest fan of hypocrisy either which is fueling this stupid crap in the first place.
Also, calm the hell down. I was just trying to reply to someone, where did I say I was some damned militant preacher guy? I don't pretend to be superior, not did I claim to be.
I'd say about 80% of the music I listen to is instrumental, does that sound like someone who claims that all music must be a social comment?
Deep seeded meaning is not compulsory in music. Nothing is compulsory in music.
@mclendon lol ya I agree with you, especially about the "just getting old" part. It sux doesn't it? The other day I was listening to this fairly new radio station in town and they played like 4 awesome rock songs from the 90s and I was thinking "man I really love this station!" and then the station ID came on and they called it "adult alternative" and I I'm like whaaaaatttt??? My parents hated this stuff....only to suddenly and horribly realize they meant me!
@mclendon yeah ur probably right, whatever genration you grow up in ur most likely gonna like the music during that time. But i grew up in the 80's and ive heard it all up until today's music , and i must say that 90's music had to be the most memorable and emotionally moving
@mclendon I will say this, I was born in 88 and grew up in the 90s. I didn't start listening to 90s music until I hit college in 2006. I have so much more appreciation for music that I grew up not listening to than the music I did grow up listening to. I didn't start researching Medicine until October of this past year and they are one of my favorite bands now. Point being; good music that connects to your soul is void of time. Reason why I also listen to Bach and Mozart.
@ThrillRider1138 I would say yes and no. I wouldn't mind going back to the mid nineties just for a day you know, to feel again what it was like to be around then, with better music etc. These old songs make me feel nostalgic :)
I believe they are originally from California. They split up back in 1995, IIRC. They got back together on 2003 but I haven't heard anything regarding them since.

No, its not. The music in the background is different compared to the crow version. I have listened to the crow soundtrack so many times, & even though the lyrics are the same, the instrumentals are different here.
@heronmusic2000 time baby 2 is in the crow, in fact time baby 3 is the one not in the movie it's self. when t-bird and skank walk into the club, this song is being performed

this is the one from Crow although in the film they played it a little more off key it sounded perfect for that scene

This is time baby iii, used on the sound track to the crow

No, its not. The music in the background is different compared to the crow version. I have listened to the crow soundtrack so many times, & even though the lyrics are the same, the instrumentals are different here.
