He makes a joke to counter something serious that Bill said. If Jon can't debate his way out, he'll crack a meaningless joke. He must be a nightmare to have on the show.

This is the most annoyingly one-sided interview I've ever seen. O'Reilly could at least pretend to pay attention or even show a small amount of fake respect rather than blatant name-calling and jumping topics like a 15-year-old with ADD.

Stewart and OReilly always did have a friendly chemistry. But I do think that O'Reilly makes the worst host of all time, he knows it's a game, he plays his role, but he really seems really out of touch from reality. It's like Stewart is on a foreign talk/game show
It's hilarious how O'Reilly thinks he's so crafty and able to trip people up, when really he's just making an ass of himself and Stewart is too polite to call him on it.
Jon really has some self control to not just laugh in Bill's face. Why hasn't Bill realized yet that no one takes him seriously anymore?
