I have only one problem with the whole concealed registration concept. You are handing the government a handy little list of who you are, where you live, and what you are packing. Now, we know that in history, governments for some reason or another decide to disarm their people. The registration makes that process SOOOOO much easier. Please consider the NDAA bill going through the works which declares America as a battlefield and that we can be detained indefinately and so on No CCW registration

Recently at the college I attend we had a gun on campus scare, I don't have my concealed but I always have a knife me. I was not there that day because I overslept but my mother was worried sick. The instruction the teachers give is hide under desk shut off light and lock door, my initial reaction would have been rip off desk leg head toward gun fire and see if I could eliminate threat, gun free zones scare me especially when the students on campus petition to keep them so like at my school

people assume nobody attempted to subdue the gunman during the VT shooting, which is not true. multiple people attacked him but ultimately failed because they were making individual efforts. There are reports of one man even running downstairs towards the noise to try and stop him. ive heard these stories from the source because i live in the town where VT is. a short time after the shotting there was another incident on campus involving a knife. the stubbornness of the school is costing lives.
By getting a CHL, you are informing the authorities that you own, and carry a weapon, as well as what weapon that is. If your intention is to use your gun to commit crimes, or harm innocent people, you would not do this. The people who are out to cause mayhem, don't carry a CHL. You know who does? The people who just might be able to stop that madman when the police can't get there in time. I live in Texas thankfully, where I can not only get a CHL, but am also protected by the "Castle Law".

This idea of 'the protectionist' society has total ruined England! Gun, knife and violent crime has risen dramatically ever since guns and knives have been made illegal! I, a 19 year old male, can't carry a knife of any kind unless its used in my job, even the technically I need a special license to carry it and even then it cant be locking, or longer than three inches or assisted opening etc.

After watching a disturbing video of a deputy being executed by a lunatic vietnam vet during a traffic stop, I almost feel the 9mm is insufficient protection, the cop got one shot placed in the stomach but it did not stop the lunatic from killing the cop. Sad and very disturbing video, it was all captured on camera and the lunatic vietnam vet was found and sentenced to death thank goodness.
@nightrider2k6 9mm is not the best gun, but it is better then no gun. if you can shoot, it can be pretty effective. i like the .45 (glock 36) but it is a little big for a t shirt. when it is to hot for a jacket, i have a 9mm on my person. i don't care to argue the 9mm vs .45 thing, but the 9mm will kill you just as dead if you get hit in the heart, head etc.
@1973timc I agree with you on that for sure, did you watch the video footage? with respect to that cop im surprised with his training he only hit the bad guy once in the stomach, and he has what 15-17 rounds? I thinking it was under panic that caused him to lose focus, but goes to show that in a real life gun fight shot placement is extremely difficult. I prefer glocks too, they are lightweight, durable, and reliable.

I graduated from the Virginia Tech college of engineering in the 90s. I had a concealed carry permit, but was prohibited from carrying my defensive handgun on campus. In hindsight, I regret not carrying. And my blood boils at the arrogance of these anti-self defense, cowardly liberals who still insist that they are right. Forcing free men and women to either risk going armed and then possibly prosecuted by the law, or becoming a cowering victim.

@Grungadin If you've ever watched the news before, there is a rising number of gun and knife homicides in Canada. Some people don't have the time or the money for self defence class, and even if they learn self defence it's non practical. You'd be killed trying it out in real life situations... I'd prefer using a gun even if a criminal had a knife. Trying to fight someone with a knife with a knife, I'd get hurt myself... I'm not risking that.

Guns aren't illegal in Canada, you just have to go through an incredibly long and encumbering process to obtain one (designed to act as a deterrent to possession). It's only illegal without a license. I hate Canadian gun laws, but you should check your information.
I'm Canadian and our whole country is a 'gun free' zone. What can you do? I was thinking the other day about what would happen if the gov collapsed or a natural disaster occurred ... the whole situation could become terrible. So buying a rifle will help in defending our home, but, that in no way helps in a situation where some crazy person is gunning people down. It's very frustrating.

Ha ha. I've got stories. I bought a sweet little North American Arms 22 when I lived in San Francisco. I went packing. I was near the 5th st cable car turn around and in front of me was a huge SFPD officer glaring at me. I shit my pants. Then another officer yelled to him that they "got the guy". He thought I was THE GUY. Another time I was about to leave my hotel and another cop stopped me. He wanted me to take him to my room. I had my gun and another laundry problem.

Gun rights are our RIGHT as we the people of this GREATEST NATION. How many times has a legal gun owner lived because he/she had a firearm? Nut jobs are nut jobs, the country is ran by ALOT of them.
The problem with every citizen owning a gun is that then you may have much easier way for bad guys to get one. It'd also make everyone potentially dangerous. People do stupid things when they're angry, and it'd be hard to keep the morons from getting guns. The problem we live with as a society is that we expect people to obey the law. Another point is that the attack is so quick and unexpected that even people with guns would still get shot and massacred. Less of them, but it would still happen.

You yourself say we live in a society that we expect people to obey the law. Yet you wish for laws that will disarm GOOD people to 'disarm' the bad guys. And somehow these badguys will obey this law, that you just said they wont follow.
A better solution I feel is if more people carry, and more people are educated on firearm use. Tazers too, why not! Nonleathal is good. :]
As a college student, I never feel more HELPLESS than when I'm sitting in class. Unarmed. With multiple people between me and an aisle. An aisle that could be my escape route, or chance to take down a wolf. As a law-abiding citizen, I don't illegally carry onto campus. But I think that law should change. Laws only stop law-abiders from defending themselves. Wolves are NEVER law-abiders. This is ridiculous. When people ask "what are the odds", I say at Virginia Tech and Columbine: they were 100%.
@JAndersonIV yeah, but imagine every psycho on college campus owning a gun. The guy sitting next to you could easily put one in your head before you would even know what's going on. It's a double edged knife there, and I think that even though there does need to be police stations near gun free zones (as in next door neighbor), allowing everyone to carry a gun is a bad idea. Too many idiots end up playing with guns and shooting either themselves or their buddies.

I agree to an extent... the guy sitting next to me could put a bullet in my head, but in a free-fire zone no one else would be armed to stop him from killing more people. If other students were armed they could prevent further damage. Also I don't think allowing carry on campus means everyone will, just that everyone who can get a gun and a permit can. I agree lots of people are idiots with guns, but lots of people are idiots with cars too...
@JAndersonIV And the idiots with cars can be younger, less restricted, and are statistically MUCH more likely to kill people accidentally then an inexperienced CCW holder with a gun. The number of auto accidents in the USA resulting in death DWARFS AD's (accidental discharge) by about 100x.
@ashkaji I would even negate the term accidental and change it to ND (negligent discharge). Except for the older guns, most modern guns will not fire unless someone fires them. Great point about cars... and you don't have to give your fingerprints to the FBI (and in my case TBI too since I'm in Tennessee) to drive one.
@Unitzero25 If people are responsible gun owners this wont be an issue. If you arnt responsible dont carry. You face these same problems every day on the streets and highways. Any time you're on a plane you're trusting pilots, mechanics, aircraft engineers, tower control, the inspectors that observed all the formentioned, and the random smuck sitting infront of you who wont stop snoring. You put your life in the hands of others thousands apon thousands of times a day. This is no different.
the thing is, the steps to outlawing guns will be so small we will feel we cant make a stand against such small violations of our 2nd Amendment rights. We need to pick a place and make a stand. The government WILL NOT take away my rights past this point! Thats what we have to do.
I just watched this video yesterday. I'm a school teacher and a CCW holder. Then low and behold I come home today turn on the TV and CNN is covering the School Board Shooting that took place today Dec. 14. Amen to Ginger (sheep dog) for trying to knock the gun out of his hand. Once again this shooting was in a "Gun Free Zone' I could have very well been at a meeting like this.. I go often to meetings such as this but i have to leave the weapon in the car. "Safety" people just don't get it!

I found this video very encouraging because I realize that I'm not the only person who thinks this way. Basically how I feel about all TNP vids... extremely educational and encouraging. So much so that when I had to make a documentary about a current "social issue" for a college class, I made a vid on concealed carry on campus. Actually changed a view minds too.

I have only one problem with the whole concealed registration concept. You are handing the government a handy little list of who you are, where you live, and what you are packing. Now, we know that in history, governments for some reason or another decide to disarm their people. The registration makes that process SOOOOO much easier. Please consider the NDAA bill going through the works which declares America as a battlefield and that we can be detained indefinately and so on No CCW registration

I agree with you 110% on everything except the "god given right" part. Its not god given. Its a self evident right that is given by no one, and should not be taken away by anyone(or any deity). Trust me, there are people who don't believe in a deity and still feel as strongly about the natural right to self defense. I will carry on a Gun Free Zone if they don't not have me going through a metal detection device. If caught, I would have a good case of fighting it. As a licensed armed security officer. The state can trust me to carry a firearm while on duty and on many Gun Free Zones while on duty. What makes the state distrust me while I'm out of uniform and off the clock? Does my uniform and the hours I work keep me from being a threat to those on campus? Even Ronald Regan was shot and almost killed.

Recently at the college I attend we had a gun on campus scare, I don't have my concealed but I always have a knife me. I was not there that day because I overslept but my mother was worried sick. The instruction the teachers give is hide under desk shut off light and lock door, my initial reaction would have been rip off desk leg head toward gun fire and see if I could eliminate threat, gun free zones scare me especially when the students on campus petition to keep them so like at my school

people assume nobody attempted to subdue the gunman during the VT shooting, which is not true. multiple people attacked him but ultimately failed because they were making individual efforts. There are reports of one man even running downstairs towards the noise to try and stop him. ive heard these stories from the source because i live in the town where VT is. a short time after the shotting there was another incident on campus involving a knife. the stubbornness of the school is costing lives.

By getting a CHL, you are informing the authorities that you own, and carry a weapon, as well as what weapon that is. If your intention is to use your gun to commit crimes, or harm innocent people, you would not do this. The people who are out to cause mayhem, don't carry a CHL. You know who does? The people who just might be able to stop that madman when the police can't get there in time. I live in Texas thankfully, where I can not only get a CHL, but am also protected by the "Castle Law".

I think I'm on the same page with Nutn. It's a pain when I have to "disarm" before I go on base. It really puts me a in dilema if I think about using a firearm as a means of self defence. Will I be arrested by commiting "justified homicide" with a firearm? Why should I even think about it? I think the military regulations are outdated and misguided. Crazy people are attracted to places where people can't deffend themselves. They will go there because they know they can do the most damage.

Just because someone has a gun doesn't mean they're going to add to the "Fire" I carry EVERYDAY because i can't count on someone (Cop or otherwise) to be there to protect me. This idea of 'the protectionist' society has total ruined England! Gun, knife and violent crime has risen dramatically ever since guns and knives have been made illegal! I, a 19 year old male, can't carry a knife of any kind unless its used in my job, even the technically I need a special license to carry it and even then it cant be locking, or longer than three inches or assisted opening etc.

I would like to see all of these protectionists gather in one of there "gun free zones" when a "wolf" comes in and opens fire, then a concealed carry license holder, takes action and eliminates the threat. Dear Nutnfancy, what caliber do you recommend to conceal carry? After watching a disturbing video of a deputy being executed by a lunatic vietnam vet during a traffic stop, I almost feel the 9mm is insufficient protection, the cop got one shot placed in the stomach but it did not stop the lunatic from killing the cop. Sad and very disturbing video, it was all captured on camera and the lunatic vietnam vet was found and sentenced to death thank goodness.

@nightrider2k6 9mm is not the best gun, but it is better then no gun. if you can shoot, it can be pretty effective. i like the .45 (glock 36) but it is a little big for a t shirt. when it is to hot for a jacket, i have a 9mm on my person. i don't care to argue the 9mm vs .45 thing, but the 9mm will kill you just as dead if you get hit in the heart, head etc.

@1973timc I agree with you on that for sure, did you watch the video footage? with respect to that cop im surprised with his training he only hit the bad guy once in the stomach, and he has what 15-17 rounds? I thinking it was under panic that caused him to lose focus, but goes to show that in a real life gun fight shot placement is extremely difficult. I prefer glocks too, they are lightweight, durable, and reliable.

I do not naively deny that the threat is real and ever present based on its rarity, nor will I be irresponsible with the life of family or myself by not protecting them when I have the means should that rare threat choose me and mine.

100% agree with you nutn. Prime example is the entire UK. It is illegal to own ANY kind of semi/full auto firearm of any kind. YET.. people are still being shot by evil minded individuals. Reference a news article just last week, a teenage girl was gunned down with a sub-machine gun in London. But guns are illegal, you cant buy them or own them? ( apart from hunting and target firearms which are still limited with mag capacities and usage) Control laws like these do not work.

Do yall notice that a lot of the time the people that stop or kill the bad is an OFF DUTY cop? they arnt in uniform, so they blend in and the bad guy doesnt know. Good thing off duty cops can carry their fire arm off duty. The people who go about with these mass murders are depressed mentally unstable cowards. Are they going to open fire infront of a cop? I graduated from the Virginia Tech college of engineering in the 90s. I had a concealed carry permit, but was prohibited from carrying my defensive handgun on campus. In hindsight, I regret not carrying. And my blood boils at the arrogance of these anti-self defense, cowardly liberals who still insist that they are right. Forcing free men and women to either risk going armed and then possibly prosecuted by the law, or becoming a cowering victim.

In Canada since guns are illegal, criminals are free to threaten every one of their victims with ease. Don't let that happen there too. You need to read the Criminal Code, learn to defend yourself, and get a knife if you're so afraid of criminals with knives(because for the most part that's all they have in Canada). Also, please don't make up facts. It's not like we're in California, where criminals have guns and we don't. @Grungadin If you've ever watched the news before, there is a rising number of gun and knife homicides in Canada. Some people don't have the time or the money for self defence class, and even if they learn self defence it's non practical. You'd be killed trying it out in real life situations... I'd prefer using a gun even if a criminal had a knife. Trying to fight someone with a knife with a knife, I'd get hurt myself... I'm not risking that.

Guns aren't illegal in Canada, you just have to go through an incredibly long and encumbering process to obtain one (designed to act as a deterrent to possession). It's only illegal without a license. I hate Canadian gun laws, but you should check your information.

I'm Canadian and our whole country is a 'gun free' zone. What can you do? I was thinking the other day about what would happen if the gov collapsed or a natural disaster occurred ... the whole situation could become terrible. So buying a rifle will help in defending our home, but, that in no way helps in a situation where some crazy person is gunning people down. It's very frustrating.

Turns out he wanted to know if I was the one with the huge pot plant growing in the window. So I opened my door and showed him my room. He told me not to tell the person occupying the room that he was here. This cop threatened me with some sort of retaliation if I did. For all you good but frightened people who go packing may god bless you and may your aim be true but watch out for that coincidental situation where it may lead to your arrest for packing.

Ha ha. I've got stories. I bought a sweet little North American Arms 22 when I lived in San Francisco. I went packing. I was near the 5th st cable car turn around and in front of me was a huge SFPD officer glaring at me. I shit my pants. Then another officer yelled to him that they "got the guy". He thought I was THE GUY. Another time I was about to leave my hotel and another cop stopped me. He wanted me to take him to my room. I had my gun and another laundry problem.

The problem with every citizen owning a gun is that then you may have much easier way for bad guys to get one. It'd also make everyone potentially dangerous. People do stupid things when they're angry, and it'd be hard to keep the morons from getting guns. The problem we live with as a society is that we expect people to obey the law. Another point is that the attack is so quick and unexpected that even people with guns would still get shot and massacred. Less of them, but it would still happen.

As a college student, I never feel more HELPLESS than when I'm sitting in class. Unarmed. With multiple people between me and an aisle. An aisle that could be my escape route, or chance to take down a wolf. As a law-abiding citizen, I don't illegally carry onto campus. But I think that law should change. Laws only stop law-abiders from defending themselves. Wolves are NEVER law-abiders. This is ridiculous. When people ask "what are the odds", I say at Virginia Tech and Columbine: they were 100%.

It's a double edged knife there, and I think that even though there does need to be police stations near gun free zones (as in next door neighbor), allowing everyone to carry a gun is a bad idea. Too many idiots end up playing with guns and shooting either themselves or their buddies.

If other students were armed they could prevent further damage. Also I don't think allowing carry on campus means everyone will, just that everyone who can get a gun and a permit can. I agree lots of people are idiots with guns, but lots of people are idiots with cars too...

@JAndersonIV And the idiots with cars can be younger, less restricted, and are statistically MUCH more likely to kill people accidentally then an inexperienced CCW holder with a gun. The number of auto accidents in the USA resulting in death DWARFS AD's (accidental discharge) by about 100x.

@ashkaji I would even negate the term accidental and change it to ND (negligent discharge). Except for the older guns, most modern guns will not fire unless someone fires them. Great point about cars... and you don't have to give your fingerprints to the FBI (and in my case TBI too since I'm in Tennessee) to drive one.

I just watched this video yesterday. I'm a school teacher and a CCW holder. Then low and behold I come home today turn on the TV and CNN is covering the School Board Shooting that took place today Dec. 14. Amen to Ginger (sheep dog) for trying to knock the gun out of his hand. Once again this shooting was in a "Gun Free Zone' I could have very well been at a meeting like this.. I go often to meetings such as this but i have to leave the weapon in the car. "Safety" people just don't get it!

I found this video very encouraging because I realize that I'm not the only person who thinks this way. Basically how I feel about all TNP vids... extremely educational and encouraging. So much so that when I had to make a documentary about a current "social issue" for a college class, I made a vid on concealed carry on campus. Actually changed a view minds too.
