@luisashaikh Thanks! If you'd like to be on my March of the Day list send me your email address. Every day [most days] a new march from somewhere in the world, about 50 percent USA
Our son is playing in this review-BBattery, The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, Class of '08-whoop and hot damn! You cannot hear or see a finer collegiate band perform. Texas A & M University -Gig' Em
I went dow there for school for uxo and thought that most kids in this world are young punks these days when you see these young men and women here its so impressive to see that this country still have some awesome young kids who care about this country as much as our forefathers Thank you Texas A&M for holding the torch high.
@db5481940 If you live in Texas why not join the Texas State Guard. You will be back in uniform again - serve ONLY in Texas - and provide a great service during hurricanes and disasters. Nope not national guard - STATE guard.
Ask me for more info if you want it. Bob M Houston TX
@db5481940 - My partner was one of special force during the Vietnam war. I do not sure if you knew him due to his right knee was wounded for one operation.
@SamHagagaga I am a recruiter for the US army....If you knew how hard it is to put a band member in...I aswell think our bands are as good, just smaller and without all that running around
Col Robert L. Howard whom plays an Airborne instructor in the movie Green Berets and jumped in the movie The Longest Day passed away Dec. 09.
His list of battle decorations is literally too long to list here but does include Medal of Honor and several Silver Stars,Bronze Stars ect...8 Purple Hearts.
See Pritzker Military Library (dot) org interview
you're a good man. hook 'em, but better yet, gig 'em. thanks anyway. i was in the Aggie Band when they first introduced this as an Aggie sub-hymn, back in 1967, spring.
actually when i was in the marching band we had this guy that was like 6 something im guesseing bc of his size he marched the bari sax. BTW it wasn't in A&M
what i mean that they are too big to march with is that in the aggie band the maneuvers are very tight in formation and having to deal with the bari. we arnt allowed to have flutes for that reason.
We had Bari Saxes in the 90's in the Aggie Band. In fact, the GIRLS (A-Batt '93, A-Batt '96) that carried them couldn't have weighed 140 pounds each. We used to say that only females could carry BSaxes.
Maybe we're too "Old Army" for the band now. B-Co. Infantry, Class of '95, Hell-Bent Streetfighters,
I was seeing the A&M band practice there drills in a field by the campus when I was little.. The campus was just around the corner from where I lived at...
@fluffy1931 If women come up to the soldiers with suicide vests on...they get shot. If they are child soldiers shooting at patrols, they get shot. If they are literally unarmed civilians, then they will know when to get the fuck out of the area. Half my medical supplies overseas when to patching up civilians.
@brownkv081 US casualties accounts according to the Dept of Defense do not support your fantasy dude? 3 out of 5 US KIA's are due to IED's in Iraq and Afghanisgtan. Return to your'e mom and dad's basement and try again .
@fluffy1931 Hmmm...US KIA's? That ISNT Canadian I dont think...no I read it twice, you definitely meant United States. I guess no other country's are worth your attention. Let alone the soldiers of anywhere else.
@brownkv081 The Vietnam War 1959-1975- the roots of the conflict go back for centuries. It is also known as the Second Indochina War. Although the American involvement is often highlighted, the vast majority of casualties were Vietnamese. It is estimated that approximately 3 million Vietnamese died in the war. The United States' casualties are 58,217 dead, 1,947 missing (presumed dead). Pls compare your numbers to the civilian deaths .
@fluffy1931 Man I could care less, thats just 3 million dead zipper heads. Just like the 2 ANP who died under my care are two more dead sand niggers. All that matters is that the number of soldiers who made it back.
@brownkv081 maybe you should spend more time in front of the mirror 'trying to impress yourself'. Who cares about your fantasy - Vietnam is a member of WTO since 2007' 3/4 of the population of that country was not even alive when the war took place. There was no military solution to the Vietnam War for the US. Just like there is no military solution to the present war in Iraq, Afghanistan.
@fluffy1931 We were not looking for a military solution in Afghanistan. We were merely making Kandahar a better place for those things to live in. We repaired their bridges, womens Shura building, the hotel that got bombed. We were Reconstructing and giving jobs. There is a very different agenda going on in Afghanistan than you probably even realize. But it makes no difference, with all the help we do for those sand niggers, they still blow us up.
@brownkv081 That's why Gen. McCrhystal was fired ? Ambassador Karl Eikenberry sent to Washington on Nov. 6 and 9, 2009, the texts of which were released Tuesday by the New York Times.
Ambassador Eikenberry, a retired Army Lt. General who served three years in Afghanistan over the course of two separate tours of duty, was responsible during 2002-2003 for rebuilding Afghan security forces. He then served 18 months (2005-2007) as commander of all U.S. forces stationed in Afghanistan.
@fluffy1931 translation Afghanistan military solution is a failure. Your knowledge versus former Lt. Gen Eikenberry the current US ambassador is laughable. Gen. was fired for his failure according to these cables published in the NYT and other media. Whatever the US policy is it's a failure .
Washington — When Gordon Goldstein sees Afghanistan as “déjá vu,” a mission that’s “unraveling,” it isn’t the ramblings of another armchair critic.
Goldstein argues it’s clear the counterinsurgency and population-protection policy, as set out in General Stanley McChrystal’s manifesto last summer, is failing.
@fluffy1931 I imagine my knowledge of former Lt. Gen Eikenberry is as laughable as your knowledge of Lieutenant-Colonel Dana Woodworth, or Lt. Col Schreiber I am going to think that may be because...I am not in the American Army. I could care less about American involvement anywhere. The only real help they did is take heat of us.
@fluffy1931 I know its unbelievable, that not everyone knows about America...what is with that. Arent they the only country that matters...what was it they did over there, oh yeah lit up a school bus with a .50cal machine gun, killing 5 children, injuring 19 others. Luckily Canadian soldiers went to the villiage and apologized for them. Americans kept gettin hit by stones.
@brownkv081 yeah dude, how many troops in total does Canada have in Afghanistan compared to the number of troops the US has there? Canada has Roughly 2,500-2,830 Canadian Forces (CF) personnel are currently deployed in Afghanistan , played no part in the initial invasion of Afghanistan. Basically your Canada is a fraction of the troops on the ground.
@fluffy1931 But inside of 3 months they had two incidents. One a gunner shot a family cause they got close to their cordon, killed a husband, wife and two children. Luckily we went in and apologized for that. Then the bus incident...thank god Canadians went in to apologize for that. So your putting thousands of troops on the ground...but are they prepared?
@brownkv081 Your Canada forces are tiny fraction of the troops on the ground in Afghanistan. Your tiny fraction of troops so far -The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service investigated a incident, resulting in second-degree murder charges against Captain Robert Semrau on 31 December 2008 for killing a unarmed wounded insurgent. please try again
@fluffy1931 ...so thats one? I am well aware of him, and I stand by his decision. His reasoning was clear, why waste a tourniquet on a insurgent? But still he killed an INSURGENT, not a family and 6 other children.
@brownkv081 thats why your buddy was Court Martialed by Canadian Forces - July 19, 2010 and found guilty of 'disgraceful conduct'. Your tiny Canadian military makes up only a fraction of the NATO mission in Afghanistan do the math and quit being a assfag.
@fluffy1931 So what your saying is if we were larger we would be better at killing the family's of the people were supposed to protect? There is a reason the districts of Kandahar were not welcoming of the Americans. One time we crossed a bridge in the city, thirty minuets later an American convoy crossed the same bridge and got detonated, they purposely held the trigger for the Canadians...thats almost a compliment.
@brownkv081 Your fantasy about the performance of your tiny numbers among a force of 142,000 U.S. and North Atlantic Treaty Organization troops ingnores the fact - US military makes up the majority of this force compared to Canadas tiny force of 2,500 troops. The US military mission has been there longer and carried out the majority of combat with the resulting numbers of having killed more civilians than any other military. nothing to do with your fantasy.
