@voo9Doo Sounds likeyou have a great movie. You don't SAVE you RENDER. Do this:- Project > RENDER AS > SAVE AS TYPE ---- Now you have a choice Bit confusing It depends on what you want to do with your vid like upload to you tube.Look up other YT Tutorials to find out more. But for your vid SAVE AS TYPE - WMV

you can put that on You Tube or view ithe Windows Media Player.

I worked almost 10 hours on a video in sony vegas pro 8 without problems when suddenly a few days ago it crashed, I got this "an error has occured" message.

I could edit a few minutes but then it shuts down, it happens everytime and now I cant even load my project, it always stops at 14 % then it shuts down again!

I dont know what to do, all the clips I'm using are wmv files, I've tried to reinstall sony vegas but it doesnt disappear.

Increase your RAM as much as possible. If you've already done that, you need to see how much you have running in the background.

For starters, Vegas works best on a system that has no connection to the internet, because you eliminate resource hogging AV software running wild in the background. The same applies for having too many other programs on your system.

The one thing I've noticed in a lot of these Vegas tutorials is the XP theme being in use.

Do yourselves a huge favor and get rid of that resource hogging/graphics hogging crap!

Select Performance Settings (button at top)

Select Visual Effects

Pick "Adjust for Best Performance"

Hi Biscuits Joe! Early versions of Vegas won't accomodate AVCHD. Standard definition is mpeg 2.Transfer video from camera to a folder on your hard drive. In Vegas go to Project > Import Media and use Explorer to find the folder.
