  • So sad to see him without hair :( Sucks he died, men like this should never die. He is the voice of truth

  • Hitchens is a genius, an incredible debater, compelling orator and a model human being.

  • Its funny how little the story ever really changes with the religious. Today they say you aren't truly alive until you share their beliefs. In the recent past they at best pretended you just didn't exist if you didn't share their beliefs. And in the not distant enough past if you didn't share their beliefs... they killed you.

  • Christopher Hitchens kicks so much religion ass

  • RIP Chris

  • @porterhouseful There is no hell, sorry.

  • @porterhouseful Wow, is that what religious ppl say now days?

  • @AtticRecordsOfficial No, they've been saying it for hundreds of years

  • why is the conversation worth having?

  • @reliablebow Expanding your horizons and knowledge.

  • @Diasanti yes, but why is that important?

  • @reliablebow If you have to ask, not to sound like i am ducking your question, you will never get it.

  • @Valk0010iv you may be right....But when we get right down to it, so many questions we all have to duck, because we can't give them answer. Good talking with you:)

  • "The Trilateralist Commission is international...(and)...is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateralist Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power - political, monetary, intellectual, and ecclesiastical." — Barry Goldwater (1909-1998), U.S. Senator

  • Here's what fools expect us to believe: "(William) Burroughs had his own troubles and he was glad to see an old friend. In March 1952, two months before Jack (Kerouac) arrived, Bill had accidentally shot his wife through the head. He and Joan had been playing William Tell in a friend's apartment with a gun and a glass on Joan's head instead of an apple. Burroughs had missed the target and killed his wife.” [Fr. page 153, paragraph 2 of "Kerouac" by Ann Charters, 1973]

  • If I could tell the Rush Limbaugh's of the world what they could do with their money-grubbing opinions of our culture without getting banned from YouTube, I certainly would....

PLEASE, people..... THINK FOR YOURSELVES !

  • What a hero. I meet him every time I read his words.

  • Anyone said hear, hear yet?

  • FUCK DAWKINS. THE HITCH WAS THE BEST

  • @Crobat87 And Richard was second best and therefore he's worth hating, or ...? I think Richard is doing good too.

  • @BaldingEagle51 Sam Harris is better than Dawkins. Dawkins is worse than Daniel Dennett.

  • @ MrTexasArcane

You truly are a despicable, homophobic, bigoted, morally destitute and ignorant human being. On the contrary, YOU are the one who is "pathetic and wretched" for slandering a man who's whole purpose in life was to promote respect and love to others, and help people better understand various aspects to political and religious oppression & control.

Your gay-bashing rhetoric is astonishing. Why do these "faggots" bother you?

Brainwashed. Religious. Nutjob. Now fuck off.

  • What a man.

  • There was, in fact, a deathbed conversion. The hospital priest reconverted to atheism after listening to Hitch XD

Thank you for everything you've done, Christopher Hitchens.

  • The U.S. military's expertise lies with killing mothers, malnourished children & cripples with radioactive bullets, bombs & mortars. Obscurantist/historical revisionist Christ' Hitchens promotes eugenics and the end of U.S. sovereignty. His naturalized citizenship must be reviewed for possible revocation.

  • @CelestialEmbodiment Blame the tryants. The USA wouldnt have to use such weapons if there werent any tyrants. So easy isnt it to blame the USA for the worlds problems but hate mongering toads like you forget that world peace was prosecuted by the USA for the last 60 odd years. . Go back to your self praising little hate shrine youtube channel. At your age to have that kind of hate rubbish you publish is deplorable.

  • @CelestialEmbodiment Wow, you're wrong on so many levels.

But here's the one I will address. You do not understand physics or ballistics. Depleted Uranium is not radioactive (or rather, not dangerously so - most things are radioactive to some degree). The clue is in the name - depleted. They reason its used is because of its density.

While I don't agree with bombing civilians, I also don't agree with hiding amongst them either. Or bombing your neighbours' children.

  • @andromidius : Depleted uranium is highly radioactive.

  • @andromidius INTERNATIONAL PHYSICIANS FOR THE PREVENTION OF NUCLEAR WAR : NEW DELHI, INDIA, FEB. 29, MAR. 1-2, 2004 : 500 tons of D.U. munitions have been dispensed in Afghanistan. Prof. Yagasaki calculated that 800 tons is the atomicity equivalent to 83,000 Nagasaki bombs. The amount of D.U. used in Iraq in 2003 is equivalent to 250,000 Nagasaki bombs.

  • Thanks Hitch. We'll take it from here.

  • @1ChosenPath Not lost. What he was, his ideas, his wit, his love of johhny walker black. All those we still have. We just don't get any new examples. We'll just have to make our own then.

  • @RXdash78 BE your own....

  • 2,000 years from now, nobody will care what he stands for and his opinions.. He's dead and Not Great and will be forgotten only 3 years from now, that's for sure.

  • @ikawpipa

Meanwhile, I've only recently discovered him & am honing my skills in logic, speech in his style. If I'm considered even half the man I see here, I'd consider that a success.

  • @recalibration You should take a look at Richard Dawins and Sam Harris. With Hitch they all have 3 seperate debating styles, very interesting to watch. Personally, I prefer Hitch, he's much more agressive :D

  • @Popikawaii

I shall & perfectly agree re: Hitch.

    Thank you. Be well.

  • @ikawpipa mayhap...yet that was said about many still known today.

  • @ikawpipa One would hope that In 2000 years from now there will be little or no religion and humanity will look back and say what a great man Christopher Hitchens was and noted as one of the great thinkers. One of the few who stood up to the religious facists and championed the rights of women, democracy and freedom of speech throughtout the world in the 21st century. In a time where people like him were really needed.

  • @genesarereal - so many have tried before Hitchens but failed. Fake atheists like him will continue to fail because their true objectives are to sell books to gullible people... The real atheists doesn't care about god and will never think about god much more write a book about god.... Fake atheists (selling books) will never succeed.

  • @ikawpipa How ridiculous you sound. Dont buy them if you think hes a fake. His message is clear.

  • @genesarereal - i agree Hitchens message is clear, so does Bin Laden's message and Adolf Hitler.

  • @ikawpipa Fake prophets write books too. The bible and other fake pamphlets are written by people who wanted power over ignorant people and in later generations sell them to make money to gain even more power. So many atheists have tried thats true but religions are slowly dying out. The catholic church is one. Give it time. I know which books are real. Which books do you believe are real?

  • @genesarereal - wow! you know which books are real? i bet your neighbors will not agree.

  • @ikawpipa Dont care what my neighbours my think. But I bet your religious neighbours do.We can go on and on. My assertion that you think Hitchens is a fake is simply absurd. He was well respected and admired for his intellect by both sides of the argument. Hitchens stood against superstition and fraud. Thats good enough for me. Whats good enough for you? Do tell. Or do you risk embarrassment?

  • @genesarereal : He was a war-monger.

  • @CelestialEmbodiment Yeah he was especially against religious facists and against injustice like the oppression of women in the world. Thank you.

  • @genesarereal Good riddance to the braying jackass Christ' Hitchens who supported the sanctions and the war of pelf against Iraq. [Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: "We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?"; Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it." — "60 Minutes" (5/12/96)]

  • @CelestialEmbodiment Those sanctions were UN sanctions. Sometimes sacrifce is worth it to remove tyrants. Would you say that WW2 was an unjust war? In Afganistan 410 000 afghans died under the Facist Taliban regime whereas only 115 000 died when the war started and countless under Sadams Husseins rule. Statistics, statistics! if that makes you feel any better about Hitchens demise so be it.

  • @genesarereal : The U.N.'s H.Q.'d in N.Y.C.

Satisfy your blood-lust. Kill Iraqi & Afghani children.

  • @CelestialEmbodiment So what? Its in New york I dont see your point. Its not bloodlust on my part. To me its the unfortunate side effect of waging war on tyrants. There is a difference. You seem quite happy though to see the demise of Mr Hitchens. Thats your bloodlust?

  • @genesarereal : As a non-reader points & connections are lost upon you.

  • @genesarereal - In my mind, an atheist doesn't care about god. so how can someone who claims to be an atheist, thinks about god everyday, cares about other opinions about god, wrote a book about god, and publicly debates about god... For me, that is FAKE....--- the real atheists must be drinking beer now and don't care if someone opens a topic about god, they just ignore it... -- in short, Hitchens is just a business man (selling books) profiteering from gullible people.

  • @ikawpipa he didnt just talk about the existance of god. He talked about injustice in the world. Religious injustice and fakery was just part of his armoury but non the less a significant one. It doesnt hurt to have people like Hitchens, when so many things are done in the name religious belief. Its good to be reminded of such things and thats what Hitchens did he made people aware of just how futile and dangerous religion is. He was no fake. Thankfully your opinion is the minority.

  • @genesarereal - I'm also glad Hitchens opinion is the minority.

  • @ikawpipa Oh come on mate, you can do better than that. Given up have you? :)

  • @genesarereal - do you actually think Chinese people knows Hitchens? ... ahahaha !! ... come on man, Hitchens opinion is the minority.... look at the bigger picture :)

  • @ikawpipa look dickhead whats bigger than human dignity? I dont look at things in terms of geogrpahical borders. In civilised democracies Hitchens views are the majority.

  • @genesarereal - i sense anger and hate, i recommend you to read a collection of books and it will give you peace that this world can not give you.

  • @ikawpipa He is not a fake atheist. He is selling a book, yes. He is spreading his opinions in an entertaining way. Atheists want to speak up because religion poisons the minds of our youth with fear and hatred. It penetrates and alters our schools and politics. When religion/creationism isn't forced down our throats or affects how our countries our run, we will be quiet.

  • @Celdoir - ok, i get it .. evolution should be forced down our throats instead of creation.. what happened to "free thinkers"?

  • @ikawpipa If you believe in "creation" you are not a "free thinker". You do not think *at all*.

  • @TomFynn - I'm impressed with your strong faith in your evolution religion.

  • @ikawpipa And I am impressed with your complete and utter ignorance of what evolution actually is.

  • @TomFynn - the religion of evolution is simple: if people find fossils (science), claim that it came from something and its offspring is something (faith and religion).

  • @ikawpipa You are so much retarded that it's not funny anymore. Do inform yourself on the wall lizards of Pod Mrcaru, the works of Richard Lenski on E. coli and the works of Peter and Rosemary Grant on Galapagos finches.

  • @TomFynn - are there eye witnesses in the works of these people? or do i need faith to believe them?

  • @ikawpipa Do 30 years of recording the development of finches sound like eye-witness to you? Or 20 years of controlled experiments in a lab? Stop asking stupid questions.

  • lets hope for more people like him, who can and dare to speak in an intelligent way .....and lets hope for more people to listen and understand only then our future will be brighter !

  • our grand children will look back in awe of chris hitchens thankyou for your courage and intelligence. The fear of death encourages religion.

  • i cant wait to meet christopher in hell if there is a god. that sounds just fine to me

  • Jef108-Hitchens spent a very great deal of time on that question in his studies of philosophy *and* religion. Just because he didn't 'discover' a supernatural explanation doesn't mean he never asked, or is this more of the religious nonsense that if God doesn't answer, you haven't *really* been praying?

What a consolation to those millions around the world crying out to God for relief from torture, dictatorship, famine, disease, and natural disaster: once they *really* ask, theyll know.

  • Agony,

It's not a total war. If it were, how many Arab mothers and children do you think would be left? This is not to say the conduct of the Iraq and Afghani wars are acceptable, only to point out what a stupid, deceitful point you tried to make.

And for another reason: since when does God punish on Earth with death grave misdeeds? Let us us you're right, and Hitchens was an evil man. Since when could we rely on God to smite him for us? Your thoughts are nonsense, they don't stand up, and fo

  • RIP mate. I'll miss you.

  • RIP Hitch you are one with the earth

  • IF there's an "after life", now that hitchens is on the "other side", he's probably now skeptical about the existence of people here in this world... i wish i could've met him. the world needs more like him.

  • Dr. Evil?

  • There should be a Hitchens day

  • I'm not an atheist, God is just too plain obvious to me, but I like him, this Hitchens guy...he's truthfull, and sincere.

  • @jef108 Keep reading/listening to him and you will almost certainly end up agreeing. Good luck.

  • @smopoo I do agree on alot of issues. I do think though that he was too focused on fighting against óther people's bigotry and misconceptions, while he could have turned within and ask the Real Question that sooner or later we all (have to) ask ourself: Who Am I?

When asked in complete thruthfullness, and not being content with the usual superficial answers, it puts a human being face to face with his/her own Ultimate Mystery. And thát is when trúe religion is awakened. Nót beliéving. Knówing.

  • I would gladly exchange my remaining years of living for bringing back Christopher. The world realy needs people like that man. I would be honored to do that, no joking and no afterlife expectations.

    Greetings from Italy.

  • The death of Hitchens was the end of an epoch, and in the event of end breeds the new beginning, A new age of endless inquisition and freedom of thought.

May his influence guide people to a higher and more honest state of mind.

We all appreciate your enourmous contribution to the liberation of our minds Thank you Mr. Hitchens.

  • @gogomanic You have certainly hit the nail right on the head there my friend. What a fitting tribute you write to a man I aspired to and learned so much from.

Before following Christopher I did have my doubts about so many things but if there are two things that he clarified for me and they are, morality is innate and that the gods are nothing more that the invention of power hungry individuals hell bent on demoralising their fellow primates.

Christopher was and still will be an inspiration.

  • If Christopher. Hitchens was a religious man, He would be killing those who are ungrateful to be alive, I assure you.

If hitchens was religious he would've been the jigsaw killer.

  • If heaven existed, then it must be a living hell for people like Shakespeare, Churchill or Marilyn Monroe; having every religious wanker who's ever lived since your death never leaving you alone with the same inane questions...

  • i luv how christians always say '' he is waiting'', dont u luv how there imaginary friends for adults act just like the real people who created them,, always ''waiting'',, always doing nothing, god waits? to me its very obvious as he never does anything, he must be waiting, lol

  • Such a inspiration to read everything all the great thinkers have written over time.

  • As long as the discussion of "what is good, what is beautiful, what is noble, what is pure, what is, what is true," goes on, Hitch lives on.

  • @Envardh I meant rest as in a state of not moving, so its still fine ;)

  • I will...

I wish I could've held a conversation with him while he was still alive.

I wish to have conversations now.

I'll shut down my computer now, and look for someone to have a conversation with.

  • Hitch is the bomb and he does a mean impression of Dr. Evil.

  • May we not grieve him too much,

    for he too is immortal

in his works and his words

  • so amazing...

  • Atheists say "Rest in non-existence Hitch"

  • immortal conscious soul proved that believers die and non believers never do

  • @mesonparticle Lol i like that. he was an amazing man

  • @mesonparticle Wouldn't "Non-exist in Peace" be more appropriate?

Because resting still implies the state of living.

  • Hawkings tells me before the big bang there was nothing. So there can be no God. Atheists tell me nothing doesn’t mean nothing. Hitchens dies and atheists say R.I.P. from the Catholic prayer for the dead to him. There are Agnostics, Agnostic Atheists ,Strong Agnostics, Weak Agnostics, Agnostic theists, Athieists, and Skeptics etc. Are these sects or schisms? God told Bush to invade Iraq, Chris thought it a good idea. It’s like trying to fuck a porcupine,it's a hundred pricks against one.

  • The Hitch is dead, long live the Hitch!

  • This speech, and many more that this excellent man made in his life, is more filled with honour and truth and gratitude and moral clarity than any prayer in any religious scripture in the world. This man was the Mozart of polemic: his protests are songs of truth.

  • @ACDC920605 a secular nation is not the same as an atheist nation. Technically, only communist states can be atheist nations.

  • Hitchens has left the building :(

I'll drink a couple of whiskeys to you tonight. What a loss...

  • Rest in peace.

And on the off chance that there is a god, then i hope you convince him to step down for doing a piss poor job as the daily manager.

  • curiously, this is a beautiful argument that somehow could also be made as one of the reasons a creative God would not reveal himself without absolute proof. this and free choice arguments, which appear to be cousins of a sort. add to this the fact that pure faith is destroyed by knowledge, i.e., knowing with certainty that there is a God is not faith at all, and not interesting. Hitch will be back on Sunday, btw, to prove that resurrection stories are mostly for the gullible..

  • Goodbye old friend. We will meet again - everyone I read your works.

  • Rest in peace, there is no use in trying to get a message across to a place I don't believe in, I would only be a hypocrite. I have only discovered Hitchens recently, the way he speaks, how he keeps his calm is truly inspiring and in a way it does give purpose to my life. He died as a great man, an intelligent man. I am 21 years old, I hope I get to see more people like him, perhaps be like in in the slighest degree would be a great form of satisfaction.

    Rest in peace from Belgium

  • Rest in peace legend. I hope there will another knight, capable like you to carry on your message of peace and harmony in the face of religion idiocy. Thank you for being an inspiration for millions like me, whom you helped to pick reason over stupid dogma.

  • Nothing in this life gives us the joy we ultimately seek because nothing in our material world finally satisfies us. The best times in life awaken in us, this aching need of longing & searching but this beauty is but an anticipation of the truly beautiful. No matter how much we know, we want to know more, no matter how much we love, we want greater love. Man cannot live without God for it is only in the God who is love, that the deepest longings of the human heart are fulfilled.

    RIP Chris

  • He's immortal now. Thank you for inspiring me Christopher.

  • He has made the world a better place.

  • omg i genuinely feel saaaad man come alive asshole i wanna hear more

  • The only reason i'd like to meet hitch is because i can, in the writings and videos he's left behind. What a great man.

  • all for one truth will prevail for all! well your dead and we are all dying:

  • First time I cried to a video.

Like Shakespeare, Hitchens remains immortal in the works (and the words) he's left behind.

  • Comment removed

  • Hitchens will never be forgotten.

  • Thank goodness for Christopher Hitchens.

  • I just discovered this guy a short time ago, but I've come to like everything I've heard him say. And then I just found out he was dying. Like literally, this video, the head says it all. Now I just wanna consume everything about him so when his time comes, I can actually appreciate it :)

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • "you're dead until you believe as they do".

What? I'm Christian and have never ever told anyone that. Why in the heck would I? It isn't a part of Christianity.

  • @KeusFrench To accept Jesus Christ into your heart? You never heard that before? Your life, your existence doesn't matter unless...you accept Jesus as your savior. That's prob. what he means.

  • @Em183 Yes that would be the point of Christianity and consequently a relationship with God, but saying someone is "dead until they believe" is not part of Christianity. In fact, either outcome, be it Heaven or Hell, promotes life. It is just that hell is not a very good place to live in.

I could easily say someone is 'spiritually dead' if they don't believe in God. Or I could say that they are doomed to "eternal damnation"... but not just dead.

I think he needs to reword that a little.

  • @KeusFrench Hell doesn't necessarily promote life.First of all,the Bible seems to be unclear as to whether or not hell even exists. However, it does talk about being in heaven. It uses a specific word, Immortalized".I think thats the point he's getting at.To me, as a former Christian(still theistic)I see heaven as a belief to avoid confronting our mortality

  • @MisterDyslexo Heaven as a belief to avoid confronting our mortality?

So you, basically, do NOT believe in Heaven then?

  • @KeusFrench Yeah. You don't have to believe in an after-life to hold superstitious beliefs. Its just that very few religious cults don't believe in an afterlife. Its a bad sign that the first that into mind are the Raelins, who believe aliens created humanity.

But yeah, I'd call belief in the afterlife delusional. Nobody ever wants to die, nobody. Even suicidal people don't-they just want to be in a place they don't have access to, and some think suicide will em there.

  • @MisterDyslexo Well then I must respectively disagree with you. I am assuming you know I am a Christian based on my earlier posts, and obviously Heaven/Hell are a major piece of Christianity.

Just as an addition to my belief in Heaven... our minds cannot fathom death. If you try and think of what it would be like if you were dead, you simply can't. Heaven is that one thing that your mind can 'slightly' grasp. Which is one proof for it, but more of a personal one.

  • @KeusFrench Oy,,,that isn't "proof' of anything other than an active imagination and wishful thinking.

And there is not point in trying to "fathom" what it is like after death, because it is nothing. You cease to be, by all physical evidence we have and therefore there is nothing to experience.

That is neither good nor bad, but plain fact.

If you have evidence to the contrary, that does not involve wishful thinking, please present it.

  • @KeusFrench You just said it yourself, we can't fathom death.Thats why I think the idea of heaven, and later, hell, were created by man. I'm a non-Christian theist, but I have no reason to think based on my perceptions of God to think that a God would even create such a place. But like you said, your mind excuses that it doesn't exist. I accept the possibility of the supernatural (even though science doesn't),but I think heaven is a creation of man to help brace for a world without us

  • @KeusFrench (cont.) In other words, "Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die to go there."

I don't think it exists. I wish it exists, I really do. But I can't pick whats convenient for me emotionally - that's called being in denial. I can say it doesn't exist with confidence, I really wish it did, trust me, I've lost a fair share of good people, such as my father, relatives, and two friends less than 18 years. I wish it did for them. And thats why it doesn't exist

  • @MisterDyslexo Well if they were Christians then I truly believe they are in Heaven now. And the Bible itself even talks about Heaven. So how is this idea formed by humans? Jesus talked about Heaven. It's from God where the 'idea' originated. It isn't human theology. The Bible is central to the christian faith and that is where we learn these things.

But please, if you wish to continue this discussion, PM me and we can continue from there.

  • He moved me to tears.

  • My favorite recent Hitchens joke:

    "How are you doing?"

Hitch: "Well, I'm dying... but, so are you."

  • @JazzyJonas the irony is that his dead now :L

  • Comment removed

  • There is a parallel with the late great Frank Zappa here, a brilliant man with a sharp intellect ready to deal with stupidity in whatever form it is presented.

  • It's like he just read my mind. It's nice not feeling alone in this evil world.

  • I adore CH- he is maximum awesome in my anti-religious world

  • probably of the best short speeches I've heard in my life. Hitchens is one of the few real philosophers of our age.

  • Smarterthanatheists, you're missing a key part. Tangible data. No testable data for the existence of God or Jesus.

  • Those who consider paradise a pastoral, stagnant and never changing (everlasting) existence, and liken themselves to sheep and immature sheep (lambs) and other farm chattel, and that they'll have a lord and master and his will be done, not ours...are exposing the fact that, for them, paradise is to be a chattel slave.

    I find that abominable.

To me the ideal is to grow, learn, achieve with the risk of failing, win with the risk of losing and RISK, not eternal safety at the foot of a master.

  • @LucisFerre1 Lmao! Well said xD

  • Marxism? Owenism? Lovely. Let's device a 5-yr. plan to distribute oleo to the burbs by unelected central planners. They shall determine how much dog food & penicillin & antiseptic will be appropriated to sector 32. Who needs the free market anyway? Let 1982 Czechoslovakia be our touchstone. The Czechs loved waiting in line 7 hrs. for a pound of fatty, fly-blown ham. It broke the monotony of a grueling day of idling 6 hours in line for 2 gallons of petrol.

  • The greatest advancement in evolutionism since Orce Man is the funding.

  • So Brilliant..absolutely hang in there Hitch

  • he looks a little bit like bruce willis

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Long live Christopher Hitchens. A beautiful human being.

  • @ColinBobbyDartford : He'll be maggot-meat by Xmas; a gift to worms.
