  • In 1948 I was learning to be a throttle jerker on an old Baldwin 2-6-2 and the first set of cars I pulled was 25 coal cars and of course a caboose at the end. My job was to refill the overhead coal bins for the Locomotive Tenders. These coal trains always bring these old memories back. Great video :-)

  • Thanks Mr Craig, its awe striking how we can remember things from long ago as we get older, my problem is remembering what I did yesterday LOL

  • @pwalpar My wife has a different name for it, LOL.

  • That is another goodie there Walter.......

  • Thanks John ..o(◕␣~)o

  • just thought i would share my 2 cents.... the movie unstoppable is not worth watching.... let me know if you disagree

  • Thanks, I havent seen it but the ads I saw on it sure looked phoney LOL

  • SD70's eh, i love how clean BNSF is compared to NS, always shinny like brand new!

  • Thanks, I have noticed they are kept clean.

  • Great shot Walter, the opening view is the best! nice spot

  • Thanks Earle ..o(◕␣~)o

  • I concur with iusetano about the sun hitting the "pumpkins"...I caught a couple "pumpkins" heading out of the train yard here back during leaf peeper season but was unable to head out towards the mountain to catch them on the loops due to "honey must do orders from the supreme commander."..They sure would have looked good pictured against the leaf colors up here..

    Good job as always Walter!

  • Thanks Jim, I suppose honeydo's can take priority over railfanning, LOL Glad you liked the video

  • That's a new location Walter, and it's certainly very picturesque always a joy to see the Orange locos on the coal...Bob

  • Thanks Bob, I use that spot a lot at Bunch someone cut the bushes so I got to get a better place to video not 50 feet from my usual spot.

  • Great shot, Walter! I wasn't expecting him to come around that bend that fast! He had his throttle notched back! Love the horn and editing on this one. By the way, is that your F-150 down there?!? LOL!

  • Thanks Kevin he came faster than I was expecting. Yes thats my rusty buck of bolts truck LOL

  • @pwalpar Sorry Walter - I wrote that it looked rather dry there and commented that maybe you could do wioth rain...then I watched the other vidweo you posted where you mentioned 2 days of rain LOL.

  • No problem my friend It had been dry a while so the grass dried up can be deceiving

  • The difference that the sun makes is incredible. It brought out the colours of the pumpkins nicely. Hard to pan and zoom the camera when there going that speed. Excellent video Walter.

  • Thanks Hans, I keep trying to learn to pan though, LOL Yes they really looked good in the bright light

  • Mornin Bud another fine job young man ya headin to the boars nest now?

  • Thanks Brendan dont know the boars nest but it sounds like the place to be LOL

  • Great Vid Walter 5/5

  • Thank You Martyn

  • thats a lot of coal Walter

ever wonder where it all go's?

  • Oh I have seen where it goes Wayne. They have so much piled up at the power plants they have to use large earth movers to move it around to the conveyor belts that feed the furnaces

  • Nice train again, Walter. Thumbs up! :)

  • Thank you Ingo :-)
