    He said in the beginning of the video that he is stuck at his house with no squat rack. Yet, he is doing squats in his basement. And they were definately not with 405 lbs..

  • @mandisencool Typically don't respond to ppl just stating opinion, but there was absolutly nothing wrong with that form what so ever.. It was a narrow stance for outter sweep.

  • @scondore Just a question, isn't it bad to go down that low when you're squatting because you're losing all the elasticity in your hamstrings and to some degree causes you to use a slight percentage of your back to get back to the level where your hamstrings can pick up the weight again?

  • One thing that annoys me aout Nicks videos.

    He always puts on more weight to give the illusion that he lifts it, but he doesnt show it.

    He has bench videos showing 3 plates on the flat bench.

    or 2 plates of the incline... but he never lifts em.

    He has a shoulder video where he shows his set with 135 but then adds another plate, but doesnt show the set.

    And in the leg video, he goes up to 3 plates, but just goes down once.

    Props to you, but dont try to fake being stronger.

  • @BodybuildAlex Yours are some of the dumbest comments I've seen in quite awhile. I've followed Nick's posts for well over a year and it is obvious he goes out of his way to HELP people learn how to weight train and demos methods and points out common errors. He's not trying to impress anyone with how much weight he can handle. He's a good teacher and a lot of people can relate to him because he's a young guy and has done well in his career and isn't some muscle head showing off. Get a life.

  • @scondore not saying dude is not a douche above, but grip does make a difference in lifts. You and any experienced lifter should know that. I think maybe you were just responding impulsively due to his negativity. Even if you do use straps without a strong grip you won't be able to deadlift, shrug, barbell row, farmer walk, bench, etc. to your full potential. I've seen it many times where lifters grips give out before the muscle they are working is done. Including myself before training grip.

  • Ok, burbonoutmynose is totally right. im no body builder so ill give you credit for that theres no doubt you put your time in, im a powerlifter 18 years old 178 pounds. my bench is over 410 and my squat is 590. Youve gotta slow down on the way down, and make sure you open up your knees to really get that good groin stretch, and another thing, when you bench grip the bar like a man if you wrap your thumb around it will really help your max and forearms. pussy girls like you bother me.

  • when ur doing your makeshift standing calf curls you mention that you cant fully extend down all the way cause it wouldn't let you. But if you stand on something raised above the floor you will be able to perform the curl all the way down to the floor without being restricted by it.

Cardio has nothing to do with building BIG calves, only toning and endurence.

  • @Thepeniserection i agree that as far as a useful "home" workout vid this doesn't really fit. its not useless but nick you should just do some good vids of some heavy gym training. it doesn't really make sense to show your "makeshift" workouts when most people can't copy them and you say they're not quite as heavy/good as normal ones. and stop stopping the videos of your heavier lifts... those are the fun ones to watch. you always only show the first or last couple reps.

  • Hey Nick I got a problem.

    I don't have a squat rack or a shoulder press rack and I'm currently doing Starting strength by ripple toe.

    I use the racks for my bench but because I'm tall I have to bend pretty low to get it on my shoulders and when I do this, it puts a lot of strain on my lower back.

    What can I do to change this?

    Are leg extensions bad for your knees? If not, is it b/c you normally do lighter weight just for the squeeze??? ...or do you often times do the 10-12 reps with a heavy weight to failure versus just good repetitions with a lighter weight for squeeze/contraction. I hear mixed opinions about quad extensions so I hope to get some input from you!
