  • @s0ysauce09 I just learned this assessment in class today, and we were instructed not to use gloves; instead, we wash hands before and after the assessment. the only time we use gloves is if we observe any warts or conditions like athletes foot.

    she's doing various things which include checking for presence and strength of 4 pulses on each leg and feeling for any local abnormalities in temperature. You should NOT try to assess pulses and temperature abnormalities with gloves on (for obvious reasons).

    Washing your hands before and after the assessment protects both the patient and the care provider sufficiently.

    According to the two textbooks and 5 professors with 25+ years of experience, we aren't "learning it wrong".
