help. I've got footage on my Sandisk plugged in via an adaptor to USB port on MAC. Downloaded E1 Canon plugin, opened FCP, went to log/transfer clicked on small "Add folder" -followed path to the USB/disk and it won't let me 'select' the files or the folder (?) help!
@ktfmptv Thank You! If I want to create a new project do I have to connect my camera/card again? I imported the videos to my desktop, is there any way by which I can import them from there?
@Educs I have looked in the Apple forums. I have included some of the responses below:
"From the FCP menu bar: File > Log & Transfer.
You must have an up to date copy of FCP 6 to work with this camera.
In FCP's Help menu bar item, you will find a document entitled *HD & Broadcast Formats* the procedure for working with AVCHD cameras is covered there in detail."
"Open the log and transfer window (shift + cmd + 8)
Click on the add folder button in the top right area of the window. Navigate to the files, and they'll show up under that folder. In the preferences for the log and transfer window (found under the gear icon) select the format you'd like to import the AVCHD files to... AIC or ProRes. ProRes is much better, but has larger files.
Drag the files from the upper area to the lower area... they will be saved to the scratch disk you've set up...

Thank you! Do I have to leave my camera connected to Mac while doing this?

@Educs You have to leave your card connected. If your card is in your camera then yes.

@Educs No. If the footage is already on your computer all you have to do it File>Import or drag your media from the Finder into Final Cut.
