SEPARATE GOVERNMENT FROM ECONOMICS. every man stand on his own 2 feet nuh! it wont change overnight but the country will blossom soon and very soon. so pot callin d kettle black..or blue?
Warning for the polititians and them. The vengeance of Moko is upon you. Them little monsters allyou system create coming to take back the streets. Hope you have a good explanation this time.
When did this one come out ? It sounds very familiar . Manwarren is my boy to boot ! . umm must be around 1998or 1999 'cause John Isaacs is the clip . Next thing I just want to say ..I love that expression "who en dead baldy wounded ", I wonder if it's a trini thing ? . IsDePanInMe thanks for the umteenth time !
A song really made for its time and the people of local and global communities....
Always loved the edge and the universality of this song! The commentary is heavy but the video lightens it with the theatricality and mockery. The lyrics are fierce but the music balances it with vibrant, pulsating rhythms and a sweet, catchy melody!
they aren't really dressed as anything in particular. Its just an informal tribal/grassroots/earth theme, meant to counteract the formal/slick nature of the politicians they are decrying.
Though if my memory serves me correctly, that's the year they launched the "Black Indian" band - a pun on the two major ethnic groups of Trinidad and Tobago as well as a reference to a traditional carnival portrayal based on indigenous american peoples.
