Chaka is my favorite! This is as real as it gets! SHE is a warm spirited person and you feel that in her music, interviews and personality......I love her...

Chaka is not that much older than me, but I looked up to her the same way I felt about Billie Holiday, Betty Carter, Stevie Wonder- the cream of the crop from jazz, and soul- and some rock! I understand when she says she doesnt know how great she is - a vocalist of this magnitude still feels a little insecure ( and belive me , Ive learned this from speaking to people who've made it- I am NOT putting myself in this category ) I can sing to an audience of 200, but I cant converse one on one -shy

Chaka KILLS me with this 'not knowing what a badd-ass, brilliant, influencial and ingenius artist she is! Of course Jam and Lewis - who were raised during the Chaka and Rufus and the Chaka solo era are huge fans. Chaka was THE most creative, awesome and dynamic singer of her era. If she does not realize this, that's kinda deep.

@cleotube She's probably like a lot of artist. The beauty of her music comes from a lot of pain. Thus the reason why she has low self esteem and doesn't recognized her own greatness.
