  • Oh and the reason they are dancing on the other side of the room is because there is light there. Im not raggin on you in anyway just trying to help

  • I have a question. Why do you not use some lights? I mean ya the galaxian is nice but It in no way is a Main light. All your gigs look very dark and its not the camera. I think you are to worried about the up lighting then the actual lighting that is lacking for the crowd.

  • With Latinos play Selena the floor will fill always. Nice gig log

  • nice

  • love the galaxian my most favorite light out off every single light

  • hahahaha Im mexican and I dont know any of the songs played how you do it brian hahahahaha amazing cheers mate

  • Keep up the gig logs man, some more gear reviews would be awesome too

  • you always amaze me I look up to you as a mentor

  • what laptop is that????

  • what swong called at 6.21

  • :) Well, I had just a little smiley but then it was too short -so now it will be accepted. Nice work Bri.

    :):):)

  • A simple question Brian:

Where were you when Micheal Jackson passed away?

  • cool gig log but I am not sure about reluying purly on laptops. I always carry my cd set up just in case but if it works for you.

  • Billie Jean never fails to get the peeps on their feets :) awesome Bri glad your back in action my friend

  • how do you like the new american audio mixer?

  • Not a good idea to put your mixer on top off your amplifiers, but I guess that was the only comfy solution. Nice laptopstand though. Keep the logs comming brian.

  • then what happens if your amp is built-in to the mixer? lol I don't think it really matters espescially not in small setups...

  • I agree keep it simple, and mobile. And yes, always have a backup Laptop, and Hard Drive. Thanks Brian

  • Hey Brian, Like The Simple Laptop Set-up!

  • what is the song at 3:26. Thanks.

  • "Jump Around" - House of Pain

  • Nice Gig log. Please keep them coming!!

  • Hi Brian. Thanks for the vid. Question on the amereican audio (dj) mixer. I have been having trouble with my wireless mics sounding loud enough on my board. I have been running them through my mackie 1202 vlz pro because I can get better control of the mic output. Have you run into the same thing?

  • What was the song at 0:51?

  • Rock Around The Clock

  • I played at a party this weekend and some of the little kids wanted to her MJ so I played Rockin' Robin. Dance floor was full.

  • How on earth did you tilt your speakers downward?

  • The JRX series speakers have 2 holes for the poles to go in

  • Nice!

  • love the fact that u can be flexible with ur music , English to Latin.... good job........

  • is the Michael Jackson popular all of the sudden now or what?

  • i dont know what parties you go to but they all have at least 1 michael jackson and is been that way for many years

    RIP Michael

  • Billie Jean always filled a dance floor, even before he died. Now that song brings down the house.

  • Hi briansredd..

Oooh - I was so looking forward to see the Mega Bar 50´s at work, but nothing from them on the video :´(

Hope you will bring a test with those too as the functions are not quite the same as on the big ones?

    regards!!!

    ChokDK

  • I remember doing ballroom dancing when I was in primary school back in 2002 to 2003! And I did dance to some Micheal Jackson tracks, especially at my graduation disco!

  • Great to see you back Brian! Funny how the comments drifted into mic discussion for a while... I'm looking into buying a wireless mic system - Anyone out there had any success or disaster stories with their choices? Please reply.

  • That's a great little room, Bri, i just played it myself a couple weeks back. Nice one mate - now I just have to edit the 45 gigs worth I still have in my camera from since Vegas! Hehe.

  • wow thats good briansredd finally you came back for us thats looks that everyone had a good time you lucky alfredo pasta nie lights brian that was alot og gigs lol keep up the good work

  • Macarena too! I remember doing that dance when I was about 6!

  • Great to see you back Brian. You've lit fire under my ass about the galaxian lasers and why I don't have one yet. lol Stil using the x500 mixer?

  • i am getting the maga bar 50 so please do a video

  • in regards to new dj gear. What are the advantages and disadvantages between starting out with 2x cdj 800s VS.. Technics SL 1200s (with a timecode system).

    Thanks

  • cdjs are more friendly towards beginners

i started of with them there not bad

but i did add on serato which i really needed sucks burning cds.

its like this cdjs = 2 tts but with 2 tts you can add on serato which is a really good purchase. and dont worry about cds you can put it in your laptop and serato buffers it up, feels like its not even a cd but a mp3 on your computer

  • i will be using a serato like setup with botch choiches anyway

  • botch choiches?

  • good gigs man!!!

Im going to have to get my hands on one of them glaxian 3D's

  • did u use a generator at he beginning

  • Great to see you having a great time again :) Great giglogs as usual

  • Awesome giglogs brian

  • Nice Brian...Good to see you havin fun!

    Dj mikey mike

  • need to get a shure brian

    remember what you told me

i asked you which i one i should get and what did you say.

  • Sure's are an awesome mic. I have one but I also use a Sennheiser UHF and that's pretty decent too.

  • 3:33

    omglol

  • Yeah Brian's back!

  • Brian,

What a great way to do a gig log.

Just a good example of how you can setup your system in different rooms

  • Hey !!!!!!!!!!

I have a wirless behringer mic and it's quite good. Not quite as good as my old corded shure mic but it's stil clear and has a briliant reseption.

    Sam

  • Haha. Alan and I were gigging in that same room at Coast a little while ago.

  • as for the pa having a hotspot would it be usefull to invest in 2 cheap little 8" + horn powered speakers that wouldnt weigh very much at all and you could place at the back corners of the room for better coverage when faced with a similar situation but without an in house system. you could also use the small speakers for things like ceromony sound and for dinner music when dinner is in another room this would save you setting up in one room and having to teardown to move your setup

    thanks, rob

  • I WANT a hot spot. What I don't want to do is blow everyone away in the room when all I really should be doing is rockin' the dance floor

  • True, i was just thinking of using them while people are making speaches and everyone needs to hear, if you conected the extra set to the Booth output of your mixer you could turn them right down when speaches stop and just use your mains for music.

just an idea, i see what you meen though, people who dont wanna get up and dance wouldnt be able to just sit and talk if the whole room was being blasted with music.

thanks for responding, much appreciated man!

  • I'm looking at getting a couple of 8 inch speakers for the back of the room since I face the same situation with people in the back not being able to hear the speeches. Of course, you just hook the rear ones up to the booth output on the x500 and adjust the level accordingly.

    Great idea Rob!

    trax

  • miss ur gig logs bri..plz do more :)

  • The Chicken Dance... Gotta love that!!! lol

I like the uplighting in the 2nd gig, it adds just a little bit of elegance to the setup.

There is a venue that I use their house mic as well, it works great that way. But I always want to test it, hear it, and make sure their batteries are new. lol

    Great Gig Logs!

    ~DJ Bo~

  • I remember doing the chicken dance too, and going faster and faster until I drop!

By the way, the first half of this video is just like my graduation disco, only better!

  • You should really swap that Behringer mic out for a Shure SM58...I've done testing between low and mid range mics in price and the lower end ones ALWAYS give a really funky muddy tone.

At $100 for a new SM58 it's not a bad deal at all either...

Nice to see some more videos Brian..keep them coming. I look forward to seeing those lights.

  • I use Shure Beta 58s-loud & clear & durable

  • SM58 is the best mic on the market. I'm sooo gald I have one.

  • I have an SM58 Beta, but a screw is missing where the mic cable plugs in so I had to use my back-up Behringer

  • w00t 88th viewer and 6th commenter!

  • nice, do you have a wireless mic?

  • No thats a wired mic he was showing there. Wireless normally isnt ideal or worth it until you hit the $500 price range...

  • i could see it was a wired mic...

  • My bad, I misread that. I have never seen Brian use a wireless. Chances are he doesn't have one and I can't really see any reason for him to need one... But that's just my thought.

  • nice job Brian.

    always enjoy your gig logs

  • great job Brian.

  • first commenters......sad....

anyways that's cool how you played MJ at this gig

    RIP MJ!!!!
