@rap9206 A few years I researched about Japanese eating whale's and discovered that the Japanese stared hunting whales at the time of WW1 or WW2 (I cant remember which one now), they started to hunt them for more food for their nation, along with Greenland and other nations aswell. Whale was never supposed to remain in their diet, but some were making so much money that they decided to keep hunting it. Now other nations have stopped and the Japanese havnt. Especially with those little go fast boats they could get just in front of one the way dolphins do with ships and then they could trail cable or maybe just thick shipping ropes along the slipstream of the water straight into the propellers of the ship. @rap9206 A few years I researched about Japanese eating whale's and discovered that the Japanese stared hunting whales at the time of WW1 or WW2 (I cant remember which one now), they started to hunt them for more food for their nation, along with Greenland and other nations aswell. Whale was never supposed to remain in their diet, but some were making so much money that they decided to keep hunting it. Now other nations have stopped and the Japanese havnt. We need to put an end to whaling.

If Japan were a primitive hunter-gatherer nation of a few hundred people that killed say 5 whales a year and used every part of them, I'd be cool with that. 5 whales a year barely puts a dent in the ecosystem.

I'm just opposed to commercial whaling. If the Inuit rely on whale meat just to survive, and their whole culture is built around it, then I don't see a problem with them taking a few whales each year, that is sustainable.

The whaling program is managed by the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission which reports to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The hunt takes around 50 Bowhead Whales a year from a population of about 10,500 in Alaskan waters.

whalers in Alaska? I assume you mean the Inuit? They hunt like 5 whales a year! And they don't sell the meat, it's for subsistence only. They have no modern technology, they exist as a sovereign nation only because the US gov't didn't wipe them out like most other natives.
Japan is a major world economic power with the most advanced technology, they are NOT whaling for their sustenance. Most Japanese have never tasted whale. It's purely for profit. Learn the difference.

Those so-called "fisherman" live in the most technologically advanced country in the world. They're not starving, and they're college educated (you have to be, to operate the equipment on the ship). They have a LOT of alternatives besides whaling (which DOES pay a lot).
Furthermore, it's obvious that most of the REAL money from whaling goes to the bosses of the industry. Don't act like it's some happy little commune or employee-owned business. The Yakuza run it, are they starving? Uber-retard!

Going out and putting other peoples lives in danger, and killing some, because you have money for a boat and a thin agenda is not a good thing.
