  • brilliant video

  • What I have no time for is dogma, religious or scientific. This video is meant to illustrate a theory, one that has an incredible amount of supporting evidence, but just a theory all the same. If anyone has a reasonable counter theory by all means post it here, but please leave out petulant anthropomorphic creators who atone for wholesale destruction by tossing out rainbows... it just won't wash anymore.

  • Nowadays, we still have people who look at the sky and dream, we still have religious dogma, and we also have science, which descended from all branches of thought and had a hard time establishing itself due in many cases to religious intolerance of unorthodox thought. I applaud the mystics, I listen with respect to scientists knowing that they may be mistaken, and I also have respect for some religious tradition, as I know it brings much comfort and reassurance to people.

  • Before 'science', our first thinkers were probably mystics, after many generations some of their ideas were codified into religious theory, which in many cases became religious dogma, because as religion becomes organised it rejects dissent in order to cement its authority.

  • However, as we are generally inquisitive it pleases us to try and find answers to life's riddles, and just giving up because 'we can never really know' would mean that we would never look at the sky and wonder about what is really up there. So we attempt to find answers.

  • OK - I made this to illustrate a scientific theory that attempts to explain the presence of 'fossilised' remains found around the world. Scientific theories are proved wrong from time to time, they are just best guesses based on often painstaking research and experiment, but many are and will remain 'unprovable' because we are not magic beings who can know and understand everything that has happened or will happen. For all we know everything we experience may be an illusion.

  • I think you klickt to much on the post butten

  • congrats very well done

i didnt get the dialogue, maybe that fills in the blanks

and for the more religous who knows how long a day is for god

it says somewhere in scriptures that a day for us is alot longer for god

i study geology but my misses has a degree in theology and is a creationist

i wasnt bleesed by god with faith, i wish i was

i dont disregard anyones theories or beliefs

  • @amfmful There ya go.

  • Hey everyone. If you disagree with this video because of what's in a book thats fine. Maybe there ought to be a notes section in the back of your book where you can put more of your ideas and comments...

  • Fish die and sink to the bottom and ..... do what? It takes a global catastrophe to do the fossil thing all over the world. There is one ancient book that explains what happened very clearly :)

  • This is bogus, like so many simulations. Do you see any fossils at the bottom of your fish tank when an animal dies? Any at the bottoms of the rivers or oceans (at least for modern animals?) No. Why not? Because animal remains get eaten & what's left over is decomposed by air, sun & water. Yet there are indeed, ancient fossil graveyards around the world. How do bones really fossilize? Rapid burial with water & sediment. Uncounted billions of fossils show evidence of a great global flood.

  • @LoricaLady Any at the bottoms of the rivers or oceans (at least for modern animals?) No.

Yes, we do find bones of modern animals. Fossils are rock, they take millions of years to make.

    Read a Science book.

  • ANYONE: If you see no response to some posters below they know they are on ignore for things like name calling & personal insults - which make any real debate impossible. I would love to dispel some of the disinformation I see, but I debate only with those who are civil & objective.

  • @LoricaLady

    You want to "dispel "?

lolol come on... Tell me: what happens when you put a heavier rock and a lighter rock at the same time in a fish tank? i'll help you: the heavier rock goes down faster than the lighter rock.

Now... you observe heavier fossils on top of smaller lighter fossils.

Therefore...a "biblical flood" is physically impossible, just by understanding basic physics.

  • @LoricaLady

    out of curiosity...

do you think Molecular biology of the cell, 5th edition; Harrison't principles of internal medicine, 17th edition; Murray's medical microbiology; Kuby's immonology,...

    are "evolutionary literature"?

  • i like this! good job!

  • i made my teacher watch it for a project and he said its was a fail cuz there is no audio and writting he said this vid would fail in my class

  • wrong explanation.....rapid kill..quick coverup.and fossil created by the minerals. not rocket science just real science..no faith involved here just makes sense..if the video was true, the animal would have floated to surface.been eaten by predators..nothing left.

  • These are amazing graphics! I am a middle school life science teacher and I plan on showing these to my students. Thank you for the making them and posting! BTW, Anyone who counters the age of the Earth really doesn't understand all the pain-staking effort it takes to make calculations and the science of radiometric dating, half-life etc. My suggestion to those individuals would be to study it for themselves, as I did and reach the conclusion that 4.6 billion years is quite accurate. Thanks!

  • @kgdebolt If you're referring to my good self radiometrics is a pseudoscience using hacked Geiger Counters to fool the gullible. For the truth study the Bible and use this video as an example of brainwashing.

  • @857frank Radiometric dating is simple physics. If you know how radioactivity works and how radioactive atoms change over time to become more stable it all makes sense. And if it was wrong we wouldn't have nuclear power plants and weapons.

  • @857frank Oh wait are you a troll or being ironic?

  • @ivanlagrossemoule Nuclear power is the work of the Devil, not physics. The evil blue glow around the rods in the reactor pool shows Satanic forces at work. Only the Bible makes sense. Repent of this belief in fossils before the 2012 Apocalypse.

  • @857frank You fucking retard. We all know that the blue glow is caused by gremlins. Damn, some people are so ignorant.

  • @ivanlagrossemoule There are various theories, gremlins is only one and I'm not a retard the pc term is "promising intellect not yet completely developed". Anyway back to the video, in a few million years time it might actually happen and real fossils will form.

  • @857frank The gremlins is the only possible theory. *insert fallacy against opposing position here* then suppose that because the opposing position is wrong, yours is obviously right while ignoring all counter arguments. *insert petitio principii here* supported by an argument by faith. End it by continuing with the petitio principii, making sur to use your belief to show that the opposing one is wrong and immoral. Still ignore what they have to say.

    Tada, I won the argument.

  • Fossils were planted by sorcerers to misguide non-believers. There hasn't been enough time in the 10,000 years since God created the earth for fossilization, it would take millions of years. These films are heresy and should be banned from YouTube.

  • @857frank never lolled somuch in my life.. :D

nice trolling dude 10 000 years.. thats some funny stuff :D

  • its.... heartbreaking to see a living creature die. when the fish died it felt... uncomfortable?..:/

  • be part of history! it only takes a second people!

    ww.writeyournameinhistory.co.cc/

  • lol sooo..... its made of?a dead fish?

  • @sundossabu Yes, no. It's made of something that died and got covered with sediments (protected from bacterias and other matter scavengers) until the only thing left is the porous part of the bones that is then filled with other particles that transforms it into a (kind of) rock and must then resist the pressure of the other things turning into rocks around it.... so yeah, it'S fucking awesome.

  • @ericbombardier lol I wrote this a long time ago I've been so bored to look this up lol I actually was bored enough to learn

  • The video is missing all the predators that are fitted to the task of cleaning up the death on the sea floor. This would seam that only rapid burial would be able to explain fossils. Some animals can become fossils in as fast as 2 hours "Medusa effect"

It isn't testable to say something takes millions of years to become a fossil...

  • very nice video ..

thanx for your Your efforts (shannonr) .

that is the best video about Fossils I have ever seen

    really fantastic

    Ahmed

  • lol, if a dead body is left on the seabottom,, it will rot away whithin a week-month..

    no fossil left here!

  • Ok try to make a mental picture of this. A fish dies in the ocean or sea. It dies and then lays on the sea floor completely undisturbed by lets say other hungry fish. its bones are completely undisturbed by ocean and sea currents, thenthose bones stay in place while it takes days week months years to cover them. whats the odds of all that happening. The point I'm trying to make is that the animal that dies would have to buried rapidly in order to fossilize in the ocean.

  • so the chance to find a fossil is 0.0000000001%

  • wow....no words can describe this AWESOME work you did on this vid

  • @ExtremeWorship well I wasn't expecting all this creationist hooey. All I can say is what's the point in having a reasoned argument with self - avowed blind faith? Enjoy your pearly gates and fluffy pink clouds. I suppose eternal torment awaits me - oh well. PS did you try any of the other religions on offer, or just the one you were exposed to as an impressionable child?

  • @shannonr BLIND FAITH FTW!!!!!!!!!! (lol)

  • @shannonr I think you're my hero. I will start a new religion with your name and statue and have people pray to your statue in our church until we break off by sections and we'll debate on if you really existed and if the other factions want to believe in you or not, or if they accept your child as the son of god or just a prophet.

    Yep.

  • @shannonr. i wouldn't worry too much about this ignorant Luddite

  • @shannonr It isn't a matter of "creationist hooey", what is shown in the video simply does NOT happen!. A fish that falls to the bottom of the ocean or river bed or aquarium isn't going to turn into a fossil. The bones will fall apart and eventually be eaten and whatever is left over will be broken down by natural processes. Fossilzation needs rapid burial by things like water & sediment. Your strawman logical fallacy attack on religion isn't what you need, but more understanding of science.

  • @LoricaLady And that is why fossils are so rare, because you're right, usually they do require rapid burial or some other form of protection. But it doesn't have to be rapid burial from a scientifically impossible global flood, it could have been any of a number of factors. It is known that fossils are rare and they need special conditions to form, but you cant just throw in something even more impossible as an explanation.

  • @carlsm95 Fossils are not rare. Fossilization is rare in comparison to the numbers of life forms that lilve and die on earth. However, there are uncounted billions of fossils around the world. "Even more impossible" is a matter of opinion. For ex. a big enough meteor could hit the earth so that worldwide flooding occured. No one was back there then. What is right here & now are worldwide fossils graveyards with countless fossils. Something happened. You have your opinion & I have mine.

  • @carlsm95 I meant to say, No one alive today was back there then. We only have worldwide flood legends, usually pretty much adhering to the story of a man and his family escaping the devestation with some animals on a boat. They were closer in time to what happened than we are. Unless you believe in that old 19th century outdated construct called the Geologic Column, which is nowhere to be be found on the planet, & "date" things by that.

  • @carlsm95 Cont. Oh,& while we're on the topic of the vast number of fossils out there, why don't we see any of the following things that evolutionists told us happened: fins turning into feet, fish turning into tetrapods, scales turning into feathers, tetrapods turning into birds. How come we only see 100% of each & 0 inbetweeners? (Plz don't say archaeotpteryx as many evolutionists had acknowledged it's no "transition", but just "a perching bird.") Personally I believe the fossils, not them.

  • @LoricaLady Before we even discuss how fossils are formed we need to figure out if a global flood is even scientifically possible. So far young earth creationists have made up a bunch of highly speculative hypotheses that don't even adhere to basic science, such as the hydroplate "theory," the ice comet "theory," the vapor canopy "theory," etc. and have absolutely no evidence to back them up. Unless you attribute it to God's "magic," a global flood is simply impossible on many levels

  • @carlsm95 I have already given one example of how a global flood could happen, through a meteroite. It is not a bit impossible. There is a huge gap in the world's crust, the Mid Atlantic Ridge. It shows someting catastrophic happened to the planet. These will be my last posts to you because like most YT evo fans you start in with the personal insults like "willful ignorance...stubborn..." I debate with those who are civil & objective only. (Also after debating over 200 evo buffs I know...

  • @carlsm95 ...the insults will escalate. There are no examples of any transitional forms anywhere. Even evolutionists like Colin Patterson & Steven Gould have admitted that, usually in things like private letters. They do change their minids a lot, they do disagree with one another as the literature shows and this is because all they have to go on are postulates, not evidence. Archaeopteryx is a bird. Yes it has teeth & claws but so do some others birds in places like South America. Cont.

  • @carlsm95 Cont. As I already said, there are evoutionists who say Archy is not a transtion. If you had done your reseach you would know that. Further some evoulutionary ornithologists reject the idea that any birds came from lizards. As I said - they don't agree with one another because they have no real data. What evidence do you have, actual data, to show that Archy or any so called transitional form ever had any progeny significantly different from itself & isn't just 1 of innumerable...

  • @carlsm95 ...dead end fossils? Absolutely 0. That is why evolution is psuedo science. Based on magical thnking they take a fossil & tell you they know how its invisible descendants' invisible descendants reproduced & draw lines to invisible dots from 1 life form to another. You call that science? It's pure b.s. I notice you evaded, as all evo fans do, the fact that there aren't any of those part fins/feet, part scales/feathers, part birds/tetrapods (find ONE all evolutionists agree on.)...

  • @carlsm95 ...you've been taught to believe happened. Evo says that mutations & natural selection lead to cliimbs up Darwin's Tree of Life. Have fun researching the evo lit to see what actual proof they have for any of that. You will find their usual excessive uses of "might have...could have... we propose a model...simulation...probably....likely..." but 0 actual data whatsoever. Nowhere do we ever see anything "evolving" beyond the level of speciation. No new species turns into a...

  • @carlsm95 ...a new genus. Bacteria stay bacteria, people stay people, finches stay finches. Change is seen but is always LIMITED. After over 150 years of desperately trying to prove that evolution is a fact, after trying to squash any dissent in courts, after trying to Expell anyone who dares to suggest something besides natural causes for life, evolution is still just a theory. A bad one. Because it has 0 ev-i-dence. You're now on ignore. Learn to debate with civility & objectivity. BYE!

  • @LoricaLady Don't tell me about debating with "civility" and "objectivity" when you already have very skewed and slanted views. I dont insult but I can understand why some do because creationists can be frustrating to talk to. Everything you just said in your several comments is based on ignorance, I've already heard and theyve already been refuted many times. But of course, due to their way of thinking that they must be right no matter what, creationists refuse to listen. So bye.

  • @LoricaLady (Continued) And the creationist belief that transitional fossils do not exist is a very old one that comes from their own willful ignorance and being stubborn. No amount of evidence can convince a creationist because they have already concluded they must be right. There are many examples of transitional fossils (and yes, Archeopteryx is one of them, he was not just a "perching bird!") but before we discuss that, what is YOUR definition of a transitional fossil?

  • @ExtremeWorship We are not saying that it is the complete truth. We are saying it is likely. Are you claiming that believing in god is the only true way to live perhaps??

we are also not saying there needs to be an ocean. There have been alot of fossils made in lakes, rivers, maybe small ones in streams. Any of which could be found in ipswitch/on mountains. Back when the organism died there could have been a large body of water there depending on the period of time. And I'm not an atheist :) xx

  • @ExtremeWorship Did you see god or jesus in real life? All you go off of is a paper book written by who knows who! I'll take stone tablets and fossils over the testament anyday. If you want to debate this guys vid make a lil bit of sense first.Of course fossils have been found on mountains what's your point?Aren't you people supposed to be peaceful? Didn't your priest tell you that?

  • @ExtremeWorship You just proved his theory. If you witnessed fossils happening within 2,000 years. Then there is definitely a good chance the dinosaurs did the same. Didn't your pastor say to be nice to your neighbors! It's a sin for you to even be looking at this because you are questioning your diety! Why is it, Atheists know more about the religious rules then religious people do?

  • @ExtremeWorship

Just so you know, and for anyone else who is interested and bothers to read youtube comments, when a continental plate is pushed into another continental plate, such as india going into asia to form the himilayas, the fossils that formed on the ancient sea bed are scraped onto the forming mountains and are brought higher and higher as the mountains continue to form.

source: I am a geophysics major

    hail Satan

  • @ExtremeWorship Does that mean since no one living has seen Jesus or the events portrayed in Genesis that you can't claim it to be truth? Just curious...

  • @ExtremeWorship If you read the original form of Genesis, not the King James translation you would read periods of time and not days. The timeline there follows the timeline laid out by modern science. To me it is remarkable that Genesis is so accurate. I am a scientist and a Christian. You can be both!

  • @zworm2 Actually it talks about evening and morning passing. It is talking about days. If you are a scientist, you are not a very good one. Genesis isn't accurate about anything, the story of the great flood is in genesis! Are you going to tell me that genesis is accurate about that, too? Or are you going to call it a metaphor? Genesis is mythology, I can't believe some people twist its meaning SO MUCH, you may as well make a new religion.

  • @ExtremeWorship Oh, did someone see these Anglo Saxon artifacts get buried in real life? No? Then you can't claim them to be the truth. Didnt your imaginary sky-daddy teachers tell you that?

Perhaps the Romans never existed either?

Did you see what I did there? ;-)

  • @ExtremeWorship Really Now? You say, "Oh, did somebody see this happen in real life? No? Then you can't claim it to be the truth." But be honest with yourself. You don't directly see many things you know. No--many of the things we know are inferred--we figure it out from the evidence in front of us. For example--if I came home one day and saw the door was smashed in, my stuff was gone, and my cat was terrified, I would conclude that I had been robbed. Didn't see it, but I'm pretty sure about it.

  • @ExtremeWorship Sea life fossils on mountain tops indicate the sea floor lithified and then the crust of the Earth was raised as continental plates push against and under one another . The layers rose and uplifted over Eons ,Geology 101 .Fundametalism 101 says its Noahs flood but you have to be science illiterate to buy into that .

  • maybe basically true. But isnt it true that normally, an animal dies and crabs and other critters would eat on it scattering bones all over the place, how does this explain complete skeletons

  • @floricajun Sometimes the carcass gets buried too fast for anything to eat it, but this didn't happen very often otherwise we would have a lot more fossils. Sometimes the animal may also fall into a place where nothing can eat it either.

  • @floricajun mud slides in the ocean

  • I'll use it in my piano class, too! It'll be an intro to the "Fossils" in Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saen. Thanks so much for posting!

  • cool

  • Hello Fossil lovers ,I belong to the oldest fossil club in the USA .Fossil beginner classes , field trips and paleontologists lectures now on video .New videos posted monthly just search here under "Cincinnati fossils " or "Dry Dredgers" .

  • lets go find some

  • Where did all the dirt or sediment come from?

  • @matthew12222

    I totally agree with you

  • i hope im gonna be a fossil for the next million generation

thnx for the video i will try to die in water

  • @mintehy we might be able to make a business out of that. have your people call my people....I originally wanted to be cremated, but this sounds much cooler.

  • but the evolutionists make such cool videos, and all those really neat discovery channel shows where the dinosaurs come back to life, that is really good computer animation, you gotta admit! PBS has some really educational shows called the dinosaur train, not to mention national geographic! WOW, hey, wait a min, isnt that like what china and north korea do, controll the media and messages to the people.they wouldnt do that! would they?

go after the children, they have young impressionable minds!

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, if you wanted to make that argument you should also argue that religion and morals should not be taught to children either. You must teach them critical thinking first then they'll know how to rationally evaluate things. But then again children aren't developed enough and it is a parents responsibility to teach reasonable things. Well best teach them stuff that makes sense before the radicals get to them.

  • @lamboflife1 Your just jelous , talk to Ken Ham and tell him to spend more money on creationist videos .He can afford it he makes over 5 million a year selling overpriced YEC propaganda . Their child indoctrination IS mental child abuse .

  • @lamboflife1 whens dino train come on

  • In the real world that fish would have decayed and bones would have scattered or eaten, no fossil. Ask any diver for his observations!Fossilisation requires very quick burial by tonnes of rock and mud etc as in a catastropic event. But I must be wrong as the theory of uniformitarianism doesn't allow for this.

  • That's a valid point, usually creatures get to it first. That's why it is going to take a long time to complete the fossil record. Another comment would be that the water dried up first. The sediment would normally wash over the bones with the currents of the water or in a storm, then thew water dries up. It's weird that in the video it dries then sediment seems to rain down :/

  • wat programe did u use plz tell me!

  • in my school my teatcher showed me this vid! my class(25 ) watch this vid and now im watching in my home!xD NICE

  • Very glad you like it! Thanks for your comments

  • Its the same for me, haha ^^ NIICE!

  • Nice!

    Thanks :-D

  • Great educational video. I use it to help make boring lessons on fossils more visual. Some audio commentary wouldn't go amiss.
