  • Good video just used it to check this gun I got from my uncle to see if it was all original or parted together gun. Found out it is an all original Colt 1942 1911A1 and not parted together in WWII.

  • Why do you live that you have to keep rounds in the magazine? Lmao

  • im worried if i try this with my 1911 ill screw it up... someone want to DCOA my 1911 for me?

  • Lmao

  • Now how in the hell does this thing go back together ???

  • I got mind fucked...

  • Not too many things designed in 1911 that are virtually the same design now and work so well!

  • FIRST "CHECK ITS NOT LOADED !" WELL WHEN U CHECKED IT WAS ..... LOADED !!! AND DURING ALL THE MANIPULATION U PUTTED UR HAND IN FRONT OF GUN MOUTH !!!

  • Hey my recoil spring won't come out. Know how to solve this?

A response would be greatly appreciated.

  • @CarlChub if you have a sticky recoil spring, try holding the spring and turning it gently clockwise while pulling it out. You don't wanna bend the spring but you want to loosen it a little bit so it doesn't grip the guide rod.

  • what are you planning David Thorne?

  • Why did David Thorne bring me here. please tell me he's not going to kill Simon..

  • @JordForster

I was thinking the exact same thing...

  • @JordForster lol i think he is going to try to build one xD

  • thank you for this video

  • can anyone tell me what the main spring housing does?

  • great video!!! i dont have a real 1911 pistol...but i do have an airsoft model tht is alot like the real thing and this video realy helped me take it apart

  • hey man awesome video! my firing pin was jamming on my llama 1911 and your video totally helped me clean everything and get everything working perfectly!! thank you for posting this video!!! keep them going man!

  • push that little bastard.. OHHH shit yeah

  • Hey thanks alot for this video. I've got a `35 colt super .38 1911 and the basic disassembly was the same. I'd forgotton how, it had been so long since I'd seen it done, thanks again

  • I noticed that you pointed the gun directly at your left hand 4 times before you cleared it. You will, no doubt, have beginners watching your video, so I think it would be important to put more emphasis on safety. The way you presented the information in your video was excellent. Thank you very much for taking the time to make the video.

  • @luuko656, the magazine follower engages the lug on the stop

  • Great video man. My shell extractor is broken on the back pin. Do you have any idea how to replace one?

  • Great video many?

  • Is it just me or was there a live round in the mag?

  • Man !! You are great ...

  • The grip screws should be SAE, the grip screw bushings and the threads in the frame they screw into are metric.Great vid, bookmarked for future ref.

  • Damn, that's more complex than I thought.

  • I really enjoyed your video on the 1911. Awesome job. Do you? Or can you direct me to someone that has the same detailed instruction on a Bersa Thunder 380?

    Again GREAT video!!!

  • Hi guys,

does someone know what thread the grip screws have? I want to replace the orginals...

  • Awesome, I've never watched someone completely disassemble a 1911, it makes you appreciate the genius of John Browning.

  • Lol wow dude, you're a fucking idiot. You're going to end up getting really hurt disassembling a 1911 this way. I think you should read your manual a few more times, dumbass.

  • &vintage=1911

  • &vintage=1911

  • The Boss approves this vid

  • My word, what an advanced piece of hardware. It's undoubtadely acquired from extraterrestials.

  • i watched this is 1911 quality

  • i watched this is 1991 quality

  • :o 1911 gun!

  • So a 1911 is a gun made in the year 1911 right?

And you can use the 1911 feature?

I rather YouTube bring back the vuvuzela feature back instead.

  • i watched this with the 1911 youtube thing lol

  • Damn! I thought I was the first one to think of watching a 1991 video with the 1911 video mode!

    Damn you all!

  • "With tha hammer cocked just gonna flip *POW*"

    Lol

    Nice gun xD

  • lol 1911 gun with 1911 youtube video effect. :P

  • m1911 in 1911, ahhh!

  • I love the smell of the room .... Ya Hear

  • ohh the irony of watching this with the 1911 option

  • @coooldonkey not ironic at all

  • @alexmeanberg yup it is. Don't get it? Get out of Internet.

  • @coooldonkey i am doing it now :D

  • @coooldonkey what is the 1911 option ?

  • @heisenfeis its gone now, it was youtube's april fool prank, there was a 1911 button on the bottom right of the screen that makes the video looks like it was made in the early 1900s

  • @coooldonkey i never saw one. i think the prank was that people believed it was there at all.

  • @heisenfeis trust me it was there, just add &vintage=1911 to the end of your youtube url to find out, though the effect is gone now

  • @coooldonkey i remember that day! that was so cool. i was on april 1st if i remember correclty

  • Was your Mag bombed up?!?!

  • ya i love my series 80 model i heard series 70 suck n have alot of problems....

  • @tacoma81 Are you joking,You know that all 1911s until the 80s were what is now known as 70 series, every military one ever was a 70 series design. ALL the high dollar customs are 70 series.FWIW KIMBER is an 80 series type.Ed brown,Nighthawk,Wilson combat,etc.80 series can be good, but are generally thought of as a abomination to john browings original design.Colt still makes custom shop pistols with out the extra series 80 safety parts.

  • i got to dissasemble this on my ipod :D

  • Glocks and 1911s are probably the best handguns ever made!

  • Great video. To the point and no BS.

    Well done!

  • похож на наш ТТ

  • AWSOME VIDEO.PERIOD.PERIOD.

I heard a lot rumour about this gun is very bad or junk??never shot one before cuz I just got my restricted license, gonna shoot like a Dumb Ass anyway, why buy high end??planning to get one for practice, because of the price and the name 1911.Anything I should take caution and pay attention to??

btw any suggestion for fine tuning this gun? let me know man, thanks!

  • @superid111

    Thank you!

This is why I bought it, to start out with and also I couldn't afford something 4 times as much. It's been pretty good to me, occasional jam here and there (extractor is too loosely fitted, case ejection sometimes hits you in the head) but I believe the jams were mag related. They are 10$ made in china mags that seem to work well but not 100%.

Have fun with it, it's a nice buy for a first gun. Would I buy another? Probably not, I want something really nice for the next

  • @superid111 I own the full size model which I purchased perhaps 10yrs. ago for under $400 and it is a very nice sidearm for the price. No problems with it in all those yrs. Awesome, I mean for the money well worth it. It is loosey, goosey like a battlefield piece should be. Not too accurate but good enuf.

  • @superid111 Look at ATI or Rock Island Armory or other low end 1911's if you want something cheap. Norinco type 1911's were banned for import a couple years ago and are hard to find.

  • when u put the mag release back in can you switch it around so it is a left handed mag release?

  • very helpfel, just one watch i learn to do it by my self

  • Brentnowell...great video...thanks...

  • Would you sell it?

  • I stumbled across this vid and remembered that you basicly tought me to disassemble my 1911 a few years back, I can do it blind folded now. Probably the best full disassembly vid on youtube. Thanks man.

  • that thing looks vicious

  • in china u could buy guns at the mall. Crazy huh.

  • hooray for marketable skills!

  • i got a old 1913 1911 and when i was takin mine apart takein the safty off was a pain in the ass. i had to use some pliers with rubber tips to get it out. i dont know why is was so hard nothing seemed to be bent or anything. she was dirty in there though. i wonder how long its been since it was last tore down all the way like that. it seemed like it was some sand there under the grip safty and in the housing of it. crazy!!!!

  • "First thing make sure it is not loaded" you said....

What are these glowing things in the magazine?.

  • @LACROIX56

    Seriously?

    lol....

  • can i make a request for a video can you make a video of you cutting your fucking nails dude

  • @alphalph123

    Sure

  • @alphalph123

    Douche bag

  • @alphalph123 what is this queer eye for the straight guy? go to the salon and leave the guns to men.

  • How long does it take to put it back together the first time?

  • @YZDT

I was looking at the parts diagram with a pile of parts the first time slowly putting it back together. Before I finally figured it out using a parts diagram and figuring out the order of putting the parts back in the first time, I probably took a good hour.

After you figure out the sear and disconnector and how they are placed and what order, the rest is easy.

  • Great video. Well done!

  • hey man what part of canada do you live in? im from ontario and if im going to order one id prefer to keep it in province. for some reason it takes forever to even ship something from winnipeg even though its only 8 hours away.

  • @DonovanRoberts69

Marstar is a great website, they ship from the same province. The time that it takes for the gun to get to your door after you pay for it is mostly determined by your CFO and how long it takes them to approve the transfer. Once they approve it, it's usually only a few days.

Ontario however has some of the slowest approval times... I would probably receive a restricted firearm before you even though we ordered it at the same time...

  • @brentnowell were can i get one of thse

  • man better you than me that looked like a serious project

  • You talk like me, damnit. BTW, the plunger tube is staked in - it is not part of the frame but it is not removed unless it needs to be replaced. The pins that hold it are hammered flat after they enter the frame.

    Nice job.

  • At least you have all of the gun nomenclature right, the "bastard", the "shitty" camera. Nice presentation. I talk to my guns like that sometimes too! ROFLMAO!

  • I have to give you thumb down because you have the load shell in clip inside pistol while inside of building. :-(

Never, Never keep loading in gun when not fire.

  • Favorite phrase: "pull that bastard out" lol! This is my kinda instructional video! Good job man!

  • Very good, exactly the same as my Kimber Custom.Yours is in surprisingly good condition.

  • Tun off the lights and put it back together.

  • 4:37 total orgasm moment

  • on most series 70s you use the thumb safety to remove pins and the sear has a small flathead to remove magazine catch. just a bit of info someone shared with me

  • Thanks for the series of disassembly and assembly videos. They are very good and have been very helpful to me. A few minor differences between yours and my S&W1911, but close enough for me to learn how to completely disassemble the weapon. Happy shooting! - Kevin

  • 4:40

lol listen what he says :O

  • He bud I thought you might like this vid. I am very new to posting vids and learned from your vid when I first got my 1911.

Thanks for the vid let me know what you think.

  • good luck putting it back together again :L

  • no cussing fucking bastard! j/k bro!

  • Nice job. I love the 1911. One little error in your naming of the parts. You called the ejector an extractor. It is the part on top of the frame that you didn't take off.

You really made it look easy to tear it down.

  • WOW! I knew that I love this gun!

  • that pistol is extremely intimidating.. field stripping wise.

  • norinco seems to have used the commander size design?

  • @mikethenascarfan

Yea, they also copied the full size 5" version as well. They then started to make a more modern combat style design with the beaver tail grip, light hammer, light trigger etc in the last couple years.

I bought it because it retains the original design almost 100% I like the original stuff

  • @brentnowell that why i love the gun, looks nice, and its simple and reliable, i subscribed to your dissasembly vids, their detailed and great, great job bud

  • I never knew the 1911 had so many parts. Thanx for the vid. Found a nice care worn Colt unit at the local gun shop at a great price. I used to be the local carb guru. Quadrajets, Holly ect. After all this time the ony ones I ever get to dial in are on motorcycles. One should never be spooked by all the componets. Just get to know them and read the instructions. Thanx 4 the info major dude.

  • thanks for taking the time to post the video. just bought my springfield today. before i ever shoot any of my weapons, i need to know how to break them down. awesome video!

  • I own a Colt ORM 1991A1 series 80 I bought new around mid 90s. Only field stripped it until now. Your vid is great and by watching it I had the confidence to totally disassemble both slide and frame just like you show. Only difference is the extra parts to the firing pin block safety on both slide and frame. But it wasnt hard to figure out how they come out and go back in. I can now replace any part on my gun thanks to you. :)

  • haha, "it gets really complicated here, so uh.. pay attention."

  • can you take the slide out first

  • Comment removed

  • Dude, thanks for the awesome tutorial!

  • lol i would never be able to reassemble that gun again

  • amazing guide bro pm me i got some other questions if you dont mind asking them i dont like dicussing guns in pub over the web personal pref sorry

  • this video is the best one so far

  • Nice video man

  • my norinco is currently in pieces, ty! I think i have a different one than you, though. The guide rod on mine required an allen wrench to get off, and i needed a bushing wrench to turn the bushing. It refused to move any other way..

anyway, i wanted to install an ambi thumb safety since im a lefty, and replace the trigger cuz it has this cheap ass plastic one and i wanted a trigger that looked a little less toyish.

well, onward to the reassembly video!

  • is that stainless steel? cause i don't want to rust my gun on the parts i miss to dry.

  • Gah! A Chinese .45? The horror much? :S

  • @ballisstix no actually. the chinese made norincos are very decent handguns. Its the outsourced turkish made norincos that are garbage.

Ive heard the chinese ones are machined out of recycled railroad track steel, some of the hardest most durable steel around.

  • @azbrc1984 Actually I was just kidding. It does not suprise me that the Chinese made copies are durable, they are very intelligent people who know their way around a gun. The only thing though is that I hear that alot of the Chinese versions are chambered in that gay 7.62x25 round. Sorry, but I will still pass, real 1911's are chambered in .45 and are made in America.

  • i was told that its not good practice at all...but a review i read on the rock island armory 1911 a guy claimed to have shot 3000 rounds and to have never cleaned his gun...again not a good practice but go's to show the durability and reliability of an amazingly crafted firearm. great vid man.

  • @benjamminmt

Think about when they were used in the war. Guns would rarely be clean when soldiers were under siege for days, sometimes weeks at a time. The dirt and mud and ash and crap going into the gun, you would think would cause major problems. Browning designed this gun to be reliable, he specifically made loose tolerances in the gun just for this purpose.

  • @brentnowell

they had time to clean there guns.

  • wow that is alot of pieces

  • Glad you posted this because I just tore mine down and could not figure out how to get it back together for the life of me hahah. I still can't get the MSH out its a pain in the ass. Thanks for the video!

  • thx so much man, i realy apreatiate it

  • I had a third piece come out with the sear and disconnector. Do you know what it is?

  • @ss109guy lol awesome. thats always a good sign!

  • just got a colt series 70. this video was very helpful thank you

  • how exspensive is it 500-600 $

  • @GEARHEAD177

    No, 329$ CAD.

The full length model is 349$ I believe.

  • @brentnowell Canada, eh? Have you notified your current and former wives that you own one? It's become so much trouble to get a hand gun in Canada, it's ridiculous. If the Liberals get back into power, I bet the first thing they'll do is to ban pellet guns.

  • @Nomoreidsleft

its not hard to get a handgun. go get your rpal become a member of a shooting range BUT the laws are fucking stupid cant even shoot my handgun at my farm and what not but you know all this already

    fuck liberals

  • Thanks! Great video. I just used your tutorial to detail strip and clean my series one kimber for the first time. Very well done...Thanks!

  • Nice, looks like you really know your stuff. I don't have the guts to break down my pistols that far.

  • wow. what a pain in the ass to strip. after watching that i see why the beretta replaced it as a military sidearm. the m9(92fs) are much easier to strip down.

  • Thanks for posting. Very useful.

  • Kind of a far break down; don't think you'd always have to break that far down.....

  • @DRCsyntax

No you don't but if you need to, this video helps you figure it out. For cleaning all you need to do is clean a few components when the pistol is field stripped, the manual usually covers this quite well..

  • That's why it's called disassembly, and not field strip.

  • @ lillen, its not that difficult to clean.

  • he said cocks....

  • Grow up.

  • really nice job this is very helpful

  • think how horrible it would be to clean it with that many parts XD

  • Bushings suck.

  • nice job very helpfull

  • Lets just get that little bastard out...

    Nice tutorial, thanks

  • @kurouDucky

I must get it from my dad

  • lol "pull that bastard out" (before it does something LOL)

  • Fantastic Guide, best on youtube. Thank man!

  • Nicely done, thanks!

  • I have a live round stuck in my 1911. Anybody know what the safe way to get it out is besides taking it to a gunsmith? By the way, having a live round stuck is like pretty damn stressful.

  • @YotaLizard

Chamber must be pretty dirty. To be safe, take the barrel out of the gun carefully using the steps in the pistol.

In my opinion, I would use a wooden dowl and a small hammer and try and knock the round out by tapping it gently with the dowl in the barrel against the bullet itself.

If it will not come out with gentle tapping you should call a gunsmith and just ask what they would do in the same situation.

If the barrel is un-obstructed, you could fire the round out at a range.

  • @YotaLizard you get that round out yet. Can you pull the slide back? Get the mag out? If yes, just take out the barrel and use a screwdriver to pry under the rim. put the driver at the 11 o'clock position so you dont fuck up the ramp or throat.

You should be able to get it out. Don't pay a gunsmith.

  • @marvintheboon Got it out. I was able to get the slide back. I then removed the firing pin and could relax. Carefully pried the round out by the rim. Thanks for the reply.

  • im calling the cops on u for having possetion af a loaded pistol

  • @theweaponmaker22

um, that's not illegal, not even in Canada eh?

  • @jorgelemonjello

Not that it even matters as the rounds were inert.

  • man, it is so good to see someone who really knows his shit.

    great job.

  • @marvintheboon

Thanks buddy, I really appreciate your kind words.

  • Great!! Been trying to find how to break down my Hawg! Excellent!

  • good shit...man, keep up the good works

  • The fella who thought this gun up must have put some hour in, with all that detail.

  • @MrWombatPPC

I was thinking the same thing when I understood how it worked. To think this up, and have all the parts work together in harmony like this is almost un-imaginable. Just amazing, it truly takes a brilliant mind to come up with a device that works like this

  • I bought a brand new 1911 Regent, and the bushing won't rotate. At all.

Advice, as this is my first 1911.

  • Match 1911's usually have very very tight bushings for accuracy reasons.

If you can't move it by hand, you'll need a bushing removal tool to give you more leverage and get it off. They're usually plastic and in-expensive, easy to find online.

  • What the next poster said. Get a plastic bushing wrench. Lube or grease the outside of the bushing on reassembly to assist the job in the future.

  • amazingly well done video. thanks so much.

  • well done video..

  • That last item on the frame that you called an extractor is actually the ejector. Remember? You already removed the extractor after you removed the firing pin and spring.. I didn't read all 372 comments, so it may have already been mentioned.

  • looks like a very nice gun but the break down seems to be complicated.

  • just added this to favorites because I am picking up a 1911 soon and although I know how to field strip it, this video goes into a more in depth strip which I probably wont use but would like to be able to use as a reference just in case. Nice video man.
