  • The thing is this hoax is still selling disks and garnering interest in Paul McCartney here on You Tube. Why would Paul want to come clean now when it is still working? He's about 70 years old and people are still fascinated with him and the rest of the Beatles and the mysteries.

  • Ringo died, and was replaced by Yassar Arafat. He, in turn, died, and was replaced by the reincarnated Totie Fileds. It's a long and complicated (winding?) story.

  • No shit he was fired, he was a blooming idiot which made this whole stretch of the imagination go out of control.

3:50 who is the old lady and why should I care what she has to say? Nice cut and paste, who knows WTF she's talking about, could be her neighbor across the street.

  • Clearly put: PID believers are dumbasses!!

  • ok,then just tell me. i promise not to tell a soul.

  • C'mon! just tell us already.

  • RIP Roby Yonge. 1943 - 1997.

  • well the appearance of the mayan calendar in this vid suggests to me that we shall be told the truth in 2012

  • The real Paul never left the Beatles! Never!!

  • 1834 ? 1692 ? 1967 ? What are these numbers ?? What did he said about the androids at 3'27 ?

  • if you will play "please please me"backward it will say "paul is dead"

  • whats with the old lady ???

  • @djemm214 Yes, it WOULD BE NICE if we were given enough info to know what we're seeing. MY GUESS is that she had worked in the hospital where McCartney was treated, and, as she said, "he didn't make it."

  • 2:39 IS THAT MR ROGERS????????

  • whats with the aztec calendar? (question)

  • how do i backwards. LOL?

  • reenter the same. Like with Two, or something???

  • Get Apple I-Pad for FREE!

  • Paul McCartney was replaced in 1966, no doubt about it.

  • amen brother. its so painfully obvious too

so many gullible fools and useless idiots out there- you knwo the kinda people who vote for barrack obama aka Barry Soetoro

  • Don't take it serious, life's so mysterious.

  • That, "Who ever thought we'd end up as androids," comment is from the 'Beatles Rock Band' preview at E3 09. They were talking about how weirdly their character's in the game walked.

  • @Beatleboy62 It seems a lot of the bytes are taken out of context to try to fit the "case".

  • androids?

  • That comment by the DJ is strange because, if you look up Jane Asher on Wikipedia, it says she became engaged to Paul on December 25, 1966 and that she stayed with him until 1968. So why was "Paul" with Linda Eastman? I agree. It's not the same guy.

Very interesting comment about the androids.

  • @xander7ful - Jane broke off the engagement when she found him in bed with Francine Shwartz, who wrote a book about her affair with him. Linda Eastman was also with him at the time. Being a rock star back then was like being a porn star.

  • The Complete Idiot's Guide to Urban Legends (I hope I have this title down correctly) states that John Lennon did say the PID ruse was a hoax, and that Paul did many a strange thing so that he would stand out amongst the group.

I have no idea if this book is right, but it is a report that at least one of the Beatles gave up the joke.

  • I haven't read that book yet. I always thought that Lennon had always denied being a part of a "Paul is Dead" hoax though. I'll have to read that book. Whether the Beatles made a hoax out of it or not, though, as it says in the description box, I believe "It's not the same" McCartney after '66.

  • Well, I'll guarantee you none of us are the same as we once were. You wouldn't even recognize me as the same person I was then. lol

  • speak for yourself, you fucking arsehole, and get the hell out of here.

    NOW

  • You're exposing your own ignorance, tecusen, as well as the ignorance of the author that you quote.

Lennon always denied having been a part of any hoax. "The Complete Idiot's Guide" indeed. That title might have been a self-reference to the author.

  • I didn't claim the book was accurate.

You, on the other hand, have exposed yourself as a complete fool who has dedicated a large part of his life to something wholly absurd. Your childish obsession is freakish. What possible meaning can be derived from this drivel, other than to immerse yourself in the wasteland of the periphery of pop culture? You have no connection to McCartney... you're, in essence, a tennybopper, a 16 Magazine reading girl, even though I'm sure you're a middle-aged man.

  • You did claim thte book was accurate. Why cite the book if you DON'T claim that it's accurate?

You have no idea what I have dedicated my life to. You spend ten times as much time and effort on this subject as anyone else and you spend it insisting that the whole things is beneath you and not worth your time.

  • @tecusen It wasn't a hoax put on by the Beatles but I do believe it when John said Paul would try to stand out a little among the others. I hadn't seen any evidence of any Beatle giving up the joke, they made fun of people reading into their stuff, hence, I am the Walrus and Glass Onion.

Look at the result of Charles Manson reading into their stuff, a horrific tragedy, and let that be a cautionary tale for others to get their head on straight.

  • @VonFisch1 the real tragedy lost in this is the fact charles manson is still in prison for shit he never did and never wanted any part of the man never even got fucking trial he is coming up for parole in 2012 i pray justice will prevail and the man gets freed

  • Wake up people, this was a marketing strategy to make consumers curious and help sell their albums.

  • maybe

  • Thank you SlimeTron5000.

You, unlike these overgrown adolescents, have seen the obvious. It's absolutely astounding to me that anyone over the age of 14 would put any credence into this foolishness... let alone waste their lives in pursuit of evidence that doesn't exist.

  • I am 17 Gregorian years of age, and many groups use these stunts to promote their goods upon people. You would do the methodologies if you are in a musical ensemble.

  • SlimeTron, over the last 40 years has any Beatle ever said, "this was a marketing strategy to make consumers curious and help sell our albums"?

  • I do not know. What I can assume is if they said a similarity off camera.

It parallels the song "Love Rollercoaster" by The Ohio Players. You let your keyboardist squeal with the vox, and lie that it was a murder of the album cover model that took place in the recording studio.

Unlike The Beatles, The Ohio Players confessed they did not respond to the legend because it will help sell records.

  • The Ohio Players undoubtedly got the idea in the first place from the PID rumor. Many people think - as you do - that PID was a marketing hoax.

Here are the problems that I have with that theory:

    1) the Beatles were already easily the most popular band in the world so they wouldn't need to manufacture publicity; and 2) you would expect them to own up to a hoax for marketing purposes eventually over a period of 40 years.

  • Own up to a hoax ? - Not once in the 10 hour Beatles Anthology was this even mentioned. Not once !!! And yet this was BIG news in 1969 !!!

  • I am intrigued by the possibility that PID but am mindful of the probability that it was a hoax.

But if it was a hoax, I don't think that the hoax was for marketing purposes. I think that something deeper was involved.

  • Wow, I can't believe they fired that Detroit disc jockey for just putting the theory out there. And with an armed guard! That means someone was very afraid of this DJ. And I never knew that Paul #1 was engaged to someone other than Linda Eastman.

  • No one else with a working mind believes it either.

  • My god.

77 videos on this ridiculous theory?

Is there NOTHING of importance in your life?

    It's time you got laid.

  • Whoaaaa; it's tecusen again, removing himself again from underneath the park bench, assuming his usual holier-than-thou high dudgeon, and offering his body to the first sailor who can afford the price of a candy bar.

  • Although I disbelieve the Paul McCartney legend, this YouTuber is still entertaining!

  • Yeah because it makes you think that you take part in a cospirancy.. so wether PID or PIA exists, the whole thing is surely very entertaining :)

  • The editing in this video is rad.

  • Paul is dead you know

  • wtf if he really did die why the hell did they go to so much trouble to make a fake

  • what the hell?!?!??! why in the hell is there "1834" under paul's signature?!??!1 is he not an human????

  • Ball point pens were yet to be invented in 1834.

Just throwin' that out there felllas.

  • watch?v=v_uJ3urvVu8

  • If He is dead, was her buried and where or cremated?

  • Of course when I comment... It's gonna get nuts... but this is real people. Enough with the not wanting to believe that he's gone and has been replaced. This is the truth... it's very sad and sad that it's taking so much to prove that this is in fact right in your face and he is NOT THE ORIGINAL PAUL.... Rest in Peace, Pauly

  • Can someone please send a link with the video of film by Mal evans, where 'paul's signatures appear...

  • someone should get the granola bars out of his ears next time. (and stop weariong so much patchouli oil!)

    rotten hippies!

  • Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease.

  • Trube be truthin'.

  • -- I miss the old crazy, wacky radio station tags....DOUBLE-YEW AY BEE CEEEE!!!!.

-- So I guess the old lady at least has some idea that Paul is dead?

-- As for the bass playing, Paul's early bass work was always first-rate. You Can't Do That was a precursor to some of the later songs like Paperback Writer, the Revolver LP and Come Together. I see no real difference, just a good solid gradual evolution in the playing.

  • "More talent than the first one?" Yeah, I don't think so.

  • I do. John credits "paul" with being the main guy behing Sgt. Pepper, which I think is the greatest album ever made by anyone. The bass playing post 1966 is far superior to the bass playing pre 1967. The remasters bear that out.

His songwriting skills were inferior to Paul's, as evidenced by his first few solo albums but his bass playing is awesome.

  • I really like Paul's bass playing. I guess it's a matter of personal taste.

  • have a look at their Germany concert where Paul does not know the words to the song and his bass playing is off key and out of time with the band. Even Ringo laughs when Paul misses the words and keeps the beat.

  • They were getting stoned a lot at the time.

  • Is there a video of that?

  • What is the "1834" under the signature?

  • -- Maybe Paul the Second is 175 years old?? Or older??? Dorian Grey McCartney

  • why is he using those cheap filter effects to make the interviews look old all of a sudden?

HE never used those, but others did...

  • to hide the face.

which is unnecessary... because if i would see that woman on the street, i'd recognize her... even though they use strange effects to "hide" the face.

  • lol 65if2007

    such a pessimist

  • I don't understand, Gnik. A pessimist in what way?

  • By the way, I don't know about the "bridge of the nose", but the right ear -- to me -- looks exactly the same at 2:28 and 2:29. Does anyone want to show me where I'm wrong?

  • Actually, I might be wrong. That might be an uncompleted fade from one to the other.

  • i agree with you 65if2007 :D

  • Thank you, juangarcia.

  • Very, Very Nice, Iamaphoney!!! "Ringo" and "Paul" are androids, indeed!!! i'm guessing the woman interviewed was a nurse that worked on "Paul". The last part of the soundtrack sounds like "Who is who's father"? Not sure about that yet. Great stuff though. This is a huge revelation on the day of the release of the Beatles remasters and Beatles Rock Band game!!!

  • *"Ringo" and "Paul" are androids, indeed!!!*

Er, I'm a big fan of this series. But if Iamaphoney is suggesting that this is LITERALLY true, I think that he's crossed the line from the faintly plausible into the utterly fanciful.

  • Now playing

    Paul is Dead - 9 9 9

    watch?v=ubeOWWFasz4

  • Awesome.

  • "More talent than the first one" is a matter of opinion.

But "refined"? "Cleaned"? "Groomed"? I don't see it.

  • So glad to see less 1-3 frame still flashes.

On that note, this video is a pleasant surprise.

Can someone look that much like someone else tho?

Asher's mom taught George Martin? WTF?

"So unusual, and now they don't know."

"He's the best Mccartney we've had, I guess."

  • the absolute best video series the solar system has to offer. one can prove its not him . beyond any doubt.

And you don't even have to ask his mom.

  • But his mother should know.

  • Finally, He's back. Once again, the original is still the best.

  • 4:48

He probably wanted to make it exactly 4:44 but couldn't edit another four seconds without losing his intended meaning?

Er, what WAS his intended meaning?

  • Son of Sgt Pepper...

    " Magick with a K "

  • Not bad. A slight expansion on the theme of the "nurse alive" and the mysterious medical procedure in Nairobi. But no cool musical theme. Not even a soul-satisfying "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh".

I would have appreciated a new cool musical theme (whistling to myself, "Say that half of them who works this out...)

  • great tease at end

    i keep hittin "pause"-i'm too used 2 ur old 1's ;)

    it's a sad story,really...

  • Hooray!

  • very nice

  • Finally it's here

  • first!
