nah, it's one of the best music making programs out there. In fact, most artists today use it (even if only for a quick simple drum beat).

you can play a guitar or drums and it records straight into garage band for you to mix and edit.

@NecromanceS When I hear garage band samples I cringe. They stand out a mile away. I don't understand why so many artists/tv producers etc. use them. There are hundreds of good quality sample libraries out there, why would you use the one that comes built into the computer? That's like using MS Paint to design the cover of Vogue.

I'm not saying the pre-loaded tracks are good at all. I'm saying if you record using a real instrument like a guitar, it's great for mixing. just the fact that you assume I'm talking about pre-made tracks on the program tells me you have never used it the right way.

You're half right, I've never used it at all! I had a play with it on a friends mac a few times but never to do any real recording. I wasn't commenting on how good it is as a recording studio; just the sample libraries, which in my opinion are overused. It's not me that's not using it the right way, it's the producers!
