@sonicfan7 Indeed I went below the G/S, mainly because I was looking at the PAPIs rather than the actual ILS G/S indicator. I took this video three years ago, now I'm actually training for my ATPL so I have learned a lot of things.
I wouldn't make these mistakes nowadays anymore. :)
Hi man, nice video very nice landing. I like flairing a lot i think it makes the landing more smooth just like in this video. I wanted to ask you where you got the Lufthansa livery. Thx.
Of course you can land the 767 on a short runway as well, but it depends on the landing weight and conditions whether you can safely land on a short runway or not.
I'm not sure why the Autopilot has a better success rate? Maybe you just don't hit the appropriate touchdown zone when landing. :)
hi i have 2 ?s about the landing 1 where did you get the panel from and 2 do you land with auto pilot and for an exsample can you land a 767-336 on a kinda short runway at jfk airport or runway 4L becuse ive triyed lot of time its been more of a success with auto pilot than without. Thanks and great vid
Oh yeah, I see that now... I find it unusual to get a master caution warning for altitude.. I never get that and I fly manual a lot at times from FL180... anywho, nice landing.
I've said it before already, I used the LOC to line up correctly with the runway, but then turned it off. However I didn't turn off the radios for ILS, so they were still active and therefore showed the needles, but what's the point to follow the needles if you can see the runway in perfect weather? :P
@Trund takes allot of practice though, to perfectly allign yourself with the runway visually from the cockpit. I use the needles to check wether I'm actually am Alligned or am slightly off, since I can't really tell at times unless i'm on the minums on which it's to late though. But you did really well though. wen't below GS though not a problem the VASI (or PAPI) showed you were still on G/S so nicely done, I estimate the landing at around 30ft/m. Soft indeed.
nice landing, fyi, it iz an ils landing, it isn't an auotloand, but it iz an ils approach i saw u following the glideslope and localizer needles, a manual approach iz a visual approach, no disrespect i just thought u would like 2 know.
Wow! How were you able to control the plane's attitude like that on manual. Everytime I disengage the autopilot, I suddenly have problems with the attitude.
good landing !

The panel is part of the Level-D 737-300ER.

Oh no its not. It was a full manual Landing.
I only used LOC at first to line up with the runway, but then turned it off to perform a full manual Landing.

You came in too high then you came in a little low likely to get full red but you were lucky. I recomend angle of attack 767.
lewisduncan93 4 years ago
You were pretty low on the glideslope but you made a soft landing. Nice video.
